“Asheley was amazing with our senior dog and cats. Our dog got sick a few days into our trip and she was great about sending updates and making sure she was ok (and cleaning up a huge mess!). I would definitely recommend using her.”

“Leah was a wonderful dog sitter for my senior dog. She was a great communicator, sent updates, and did great with my dog’s medication & insulin injection regimen. Looking forward to having her help again soon!”

“Ava was awesome – super communicative, takes great pictures and videos, and Bear was in love with her by the time she left. Thank you for making us feel so comfortable going on our vacation – highly recommend to anyone needing a great sitter!! 5 stars!”

“Susie was phenomenal with our pups and our house! She unfortunately walked into a mess from one of our dogs and helped clean it up. She also went above and beyond by washing the sheets and remaking the bed along with vacuuming! AMAZING!! Thank you, Susie!”

“Natalie did a wonderful job taking care of my three dogs. She catered to each pups personality and needs. She also took great care of my home! I felt safe leaving my family in her care!!”

“Sarah was absolutely amazing! She kept us updated the entire time we were gone and did an amazing job with our dogs. We will absolutely be going through Sarah for future dog sitting!”

“Katie did a great job with caring for my 2 male cats for a week. One of my cats had been recently diagnosed with a medical issue. I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing that Katie was staying at my house & frequently checking up on him.”

“I appreciated that Rebecca provided daily updates and our dogs seem to have been well cared for! She also was respectful of our space and left it just as clean (if not even cleaner) than when she arrived. I would definitely use Rebecca again!”
About: Ever since I was little, I loved looking after animals big or small. I was the neighborhood kid to call if there was a need for pet care. I started at 10 doing as little as picking up poo from yards to growing up and staying over if the owner was out of town! I have experience with dogs, cats and yes fish at almost every stage of life. I have a long list of clients who would recommend me to look after your furry friend!! I am a part time employee at the moment so I have flexibility in my hours! Depending on the service needed I can make it work along with my schedule. I will be a local college student starting up in August but will continue to have an open schedule! I have a dog of my own and she is one of my top priority’s! When I stay at a clients home I ensure their furry friends have plenty of play and outdoor time. Walks are a non negotiable with my dog so I am very good with taking clients dogs out multiple times a day! Cats have the same priority, I ensure they have play time if that is up their alley or just a couch buddy! Every animal is different so I adjust accordingly!!
“Anita was AMAZING!!! Not only did she take excellent care of our stubborn furry baby, she kept watch over our home and we returned to a clean and happy house!! Peace of mind is what you’ll get by hiring her. We cannot recommend her enough. ???”

“I can’t recommend Austin enough! He sent regular updates, communicated clearly, and was really tuned in to how Bear was feeling. I felt totally at ease knowing Bear was in such thoughtful hands. I came home to a happy, relaxed pup—and I’ll definitely be booking again!”

“Jessica arrived on time and Loki instantly felt comfortable with her! She was also very patient when the event I was going to got delayed, so I very much appreciated how willing she was to stay with my dog until I got home. Would book her again!”

About: Hi pet parents! I know it can be tough to travel or make plans when you have pets at home, but I’m here to help so you don’t have to worry! I love spending time with dogs and cats, and I’m comfortable caring for multi-pet homes. I also have experience with pets who need a little extra care, including special needs and medication routines. While you’re away, I’ll send regular updates and photos so you can feel at ease and stay connected. I’m easy to reach and always happy to help. I’d love to meet you and your furry family soon! Pet sitting is my primary career for 10+ years. I have a genuine love for cat, dogs, and many other animals like elephants and turtles! I love being able to be a pets second favorite human I’ll even take third place if I must. For the cat lovers, if I get a head butt, I will consider myself honored! I always keep pets within sight and make their safety a priority. If they prefer space, I check in on them regularly in a calm and comfortable way. I follow feeding schedules closely, ensure fresh water is always available, and help reduce stress while you’re away. For outdoor time, I quickly scan the area for safety, make sure gates are secure, and use any requested collars or harnesses. I’m also happy to put on booties or bring extra water for hot or cold weather when needed.
“Courtney was absolutely incredible! She accommodated our last-minute booking with such grace and professionalism. From the start, her communication was clear, timely, and reassuring—which made us feel so comfortable. Most importantly, our pups were so well taken care of and came home happy and relaxed. We’re beyond grateful for her kindness, flexibility, and the genuine love she showed our dogs. Highly recommend Courtney to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter!”

About: I have worked at a dog daycare for over 2 1/2 years! i’ve worked with groups of dogs ranging from 15-35 at once, ive worked with “aggressive” and reactive dogs. taking care of them and working together with them i live at home and i have 5 dogs! one is my babygirl, (the other 4 are my family’s) shes a rescue, i got her about 2 years ago. what i didn’t expect was how many triggers/trauma she has from her previous home. i work with her every day shes done so good since, still needs more time but shes my soulmate in a dog my home has about almost an acre, fenced in yard! lots of holes that my furbabies created for digging! there is a shed that we have planned to remove sometime. not to sound alarming but there is a grape vine, no grapes grow just leaves. and your furbabies will always be supervised. the fence is about 4-5 feet so if you have a jumper, they can still come just probably on a long leash which i have if you don’t.
“Damian did a great job taking care of my dog and house sitting while I was on an extended trip. My dog got along great with Damian. He took Finn for a walk at the park and in the neighborhood. While house sitting and providing dog care, Damian swept the floor, rain the dishwasher, and laundered the towels before leaving. He was trustworthy and respectful in my home. I recommend Damian highly.”

“Robin stayed in our home for 5 days/4 nights and was WONDERFUL. She communicated so well, asked all the right questions, returned a clean home to us, and obviously took amazing 🤩 care of our 5 dogs and 4 sheep. I couldn’t recommend her more highly!”

FAQs for House Sitting - Duplex
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Duplex on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,311 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Duplex. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Duplex walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Duplex maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Duplex choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Duplex. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
