“Toryn has been the absolute best with my pups. She genuinely cares for them and shares awesome pictures of them. I really appreciate knowing they are in the best care!”

“This was my second time booking Jordan, and once again she was absolutely wonderful. She’s reliable, communicative, and genuinely cares about the pets she watches- not just going through the motions. I felt completely at ease knowing my cat was in her care, which is huge for me. Jordan provided great updates, followed instructions perfectly, and treated my Nova with real kindness and patience. It’s clear she pays attention and actually connects with the animals she sits. Everything was exactly as it should be when I returned, and my cat was calm and well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Jordan again (and honestly plan to). If you’re looking for a sitter you can truly trust, she’s it.”

“Maureen is great! Our cat was just diagnosed with diabetes and Maureen has been so flexible with dates as we navigate this insulin injection with things already on our calendar. We'll keep using her services whenever we need to.”

About: I have taken care of many pets of friends and family members for a while now. I have a cat myself and have a love for animals 🐾 I currently have a full-time job but I am available early mornings (5am-7am) and evenings (5pm-9pm). I can do a couple drop-ins a day whether that be potty breaks, meal times, or even to give your pet some company! I will take any and all notes/ routines into consideration and do what is best for your pet! I can work around any accommodations required and keep you up-to-date on your pet :)
About: I have worked at a boarding facility for four years. I played with dogs and cats there. I also have a dog as a pet. I’m in school right now. I’m available until 4:00 Tuesdays. I am also available all day Thursdays and Fridays. I have weekend availability too. I’m available all day weekends too. I feed my dog and walk her. I check her water daily. I play with her and give her treats. I enjoy spending time with her.

“Ann was great taking care of my two fur babies. More than just needing to be let out to go to the bathroom, they need love and affection when I am gone and she delivered. She arrived on time and cuddled with them so they felt like they weren't missing anything. I was quite happy with her services!”

“Rayme was amazing! We needed someone short notice, and even with that, her communication was great, and she made sure to spend time and give some love to all three of our fur babies. We're booking with her for a longer trip and definitely feel great about leaving our babies in her care!”

“Penny has been great with Bodo! We’re moving out of state and will miss her care so much. She always communicates well and sends great updates and pictures. Bodo will miss you, Penny 🐾”

About: Hi there! Ive worked the last 3 years at Petco taking care of a lot of companion animals! I have had dogs, taken care of others dogs, and I currently have 3 cats at home! I started pet sitting for a couple of people about a year ago and want to see if there are more opportunities here! I’m also a pre-med student going into my last year of college and just started working as a patient care assistant! For the summer I will be working a full time job and 2 overnight shifts a week at the hospital. During the fall semester I am hoping to mainly work at the hospital and focus on my classes and pet sitting! Taking care of your pets in their own environment is key to comfort and making sure they feel safe even when you’re out of town. Every animal has their quirks or preference to make them feel happy, safe, and loved. (Even if I have to pretend to 5 star cook their kibble, or spoon feed them their wet food). I do also have experience working with sick animals from hamsters to dogs!
About: As a lifelong pet enthusiast, I've been caring for cats and dogs since childhood. I have 4 of my own furry friends now (3 cats and a dog), one of which is chronically ill so I have experience with sick pets. I also have valuable experience watching over friends' beloved pets for extended periods at a time. I am currently working part-time and create my own schedule so I have a lot of availability both during the week and on the weekends My dog is 75 pounds so I have experience handling large dogs (such as walking or can crate your dog if needed). With having my own pets, I know what is and is not safe for pets to get into. I am also comfortable giving special diets to pets (as one of my cats is chronically ill) in addition to various medication if needed.
“Was responsible. Had some personal issues twice and couldn’t come. But made me aware of that. And I was fine since my cats can be unattended for a day or two. But she sent me videos and pictures. Cleaned up any cat mess. Kept everything neat and clean.”

“Max checked on Jake for us on Christmas Day while we were gone for the day and again later in the week when we went out of town. Jake did great with him! Max was prompt and communicated often with us. He posted several pics of Jake playing in the yard and enjoying himself. I highly recommend Max! We’ll definitely use him again.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
