“This is our first time using Rover. We have a quirky dog with a nervous disposition. John had a calming influence and made our high-strung guy right at home. He’s a dog whisperer for sure! We’ll definitively schedule John again the next time we travel.”
“Debbie was all that our girl, Rose needed and more! We were thrilled with the care that Debbie and hubby Randy provided for her. Rose is a rescue and used to being an "only child" and Debbie worked with us and our needs. Debbie was so kind to send us pics and videos while we were away showing that Rose loved her temporary home with Debbie and Randy and she can't wait to visit again when we are away for spring break! :) Thank you, Debbie!”

About: I’ve been around animals for years and truly love caring for pets of all personalities, sizes, and energy levels. I provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment where every pet is treated like part of the family. I have experience with dogs, cats, puppies, and other pets, and I understand that every animal has their own routine and personality. I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, drop-in visits, daycare, and overnight care. I also make sure pet parents receive plenty of updates and photos so they can feel comfortable while they’re away. My goal is simple: happy pets, peace of mind for their humans, and lots of love and attention along the way. 🐾 Pet care fits naturally into my everyday routine. I work from home, which allows me to be present throughout the day for potty breaks, walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, and plenty of attention. I’m able to keep a close eye on the pets in my care and make sure they feel comfortable and included while they’re with me. Caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy, so having a furry friend around fits right into my day! 🐾 I want every pet who stays with me to feel like they’re right at home. 🐾 I keep things cozy, relaxed, and comfortable, with plenty of cuddles, playtime, naps, outside time, and attention throughout the day. I do my best to stick to each pet’s normal routine so their stay feels familiar and stress-free. Since I work from home, I’m around throughout the day to keep them company and make sure they’re happy, comfortable, and getting lots of love. ❤️
“Scott was awesome! He was very flexible with my schedule and was very good at letting me know what was going on with my dog. I'm looking forward to having him watch over my dog again. Thanks Scott!!!”

“Kiersten provided a happy, loving, and relaxed environment for our doggo who is often anxious in boarding situations. Boo had a wonderful time playing with her other dogs and Kiersten took great care of her!! Will definitely use Kiersten again!”

“Kayla is amazing with animals!!! She had Zeus for me when he was a little pup and he totally remembers her this past weekend! He’s way more to deal with but she handles him perfectly! Her patience is amazing!”

About: I’ve owned cats and dogs over the years. My family raised kittens for years when I was in high-school. I also had a dog of my own for 15 years. I’m always the first to volunteer to care for friends and family members pets when they are out of town or need extra help walking them during the work week. I am currently pet free and miss having furry friends around! I work evenings so I have plenty of time during the day to walk pets and take them on adventures! I’m happy to house sit or keep pets overnight as well, as long as they can be left for 4-6 hours in the evening! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. I have a dog park at my apartment complex, and take lots of daily walks as well. In your home, I make every effort to keep your pet on their normal schedule, including feeding, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and plenty of affection. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I’ll always treat them like one of my own and keep you updated with photos and messages while you’re away. My 14-year-old son is gentle, respectful of animals, and has grown up around both dogs and cats, but all pet care and responsibility is handled by me.

“Teah & Eric were amazing!!! This was the first time my dogs have stayed outside of their home. Teah & Eric were great at calming them and making them feel welcome. I will choose them every time if I have the chance!”

“Elisheba was wonderful with my dog. She gave me daily updates on how she was doing and sent me fun pictures of the adventures they had while I was gone. I highly recommend her as a sitter for your pet as she has a true love for animals and she will welcome them into her home and take care of them as if it was her own pet.”

“Mrs Kimberly took care of our “Fluffin Fluffball” like she was a member of the family! I could tell she was comfortable in her home. She was quick to communicate from the booking- to questions about the stay- to pickup. Looking forward to asking for her services again.”

“This was my first time leaving my dog for a trip let alone using Rover. Aparajita understood and helped assure me my precious boy would be safe and happy with her. I got lucky finding someone so competent with guardian breeds...and with people.”

“Patricia is an extraordinary dog sitter! From the moment we met her to drop off Novak, she was extremely friendly and attentive, and we could tell that we’d made the right choice for his care. She sent many photos and videos of Novak having a great time with her sweet dogs and texted updates as well. When it was time for Novak to go, she sent him off with a toy as well! If in this area again, we’d definitely board Novak with Patricia!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - The Woods
Daisy loves staying with April! It’s almost like a home away from home for her! She’s such a caring person! (I almost don’t want to tell everyone how fantastic she is because it could limit her availability for Daisy at some point). We feel very fortunate to have found her (and Maple)!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their The Woods home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your The Woods.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your The Woods sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
