This was my second time booking Jordan, and once again she was absolutely wonderful. She’s reliable, communicative, and genuinely cares about the pets she watches- not just going through the motions. I felt completely at ease knowing my cat was in her care, which is huge for me. Jordan provided great updates, followed instructions perfectly, and treated my Nova with real kindness and patience. It’s clear she pays attention and actually connects with the animals she sits. Everything was exactly as it should be when I returned, and my cat was calm and well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Jordan again (and honestly plan to). If you’re looking for a sitter you can truly trust, she’s it.

Ann was great taking care of my two fur babies. More than just needing to be let out to go to the bathroom, they need love and affection when I am gone and she delivered. She arrived on time and cuddled with them so they felt like they weren't missing anything. I was quite happy with her services!

About: As a lifelong pet enthusiast, I've been caring for cats and dogs since childhood. I have 4 of my own furry friends now (3 cats and a dog), one of which is chronically ill so I have experience with sick pets. I also have valuable experience watching over friends' beloved pets for extended periods at a time. I am currently working part-time and create my own schedule so I have a lot of availability both during the week and on the weekends My dog is 75 pounds so I have experience handling large dogs (such as walking or can crate your dog if needed). With having my own pets, I know what is and is not safe for pets to get into. I am also comfortable giving special diets to pets (as one of my cats is chronically ill) in addition to various medication if needed.

We worked with Julie requesting walks, play, and meals for nearly 6 months until we recently moved and she was an absolute Godsend. She cared for my puppy (from age 2-7 months) while we were working like he was her own and I can't put into words the peace of mind she afforded me. She sends photos of your pet with each visit, was extremely accommodating of our chaotic schedules, and is so, so thoughtful. We will never find another like her!

About: Hi! I’m an experienced, compassionate pet sitter who truly believes every animal deserves to be treated like family. 🐾 I’ve been a pet owner my entire life and have spent the past 3 years working professionally as a pet sitter through an established pet-care company. I’ve cared for all kinds of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, hamsters, snakes, skunks, and more. I absolutely love animals of all shapes, sizes, ages, and personalities—including exotic pets and farm animals! 🏡 Dog Boarding in My Home I offer boarding in my home for dogs under 40 pounds. Your dog will be welcomed into a loving, pet-friendly home where they’ll receive plenty of attention, affection, playtime, and cuddles. I have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and six cats, so my home is truly an animal-loving environment. Because of my resident pets, I want to make sure every boarding guest is comfortable around other animals and is a good fit for our household. I’m happy to discuss your dog’s personality, routines, and needs ahead of time to make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable stay. I do not crate pets unless that is your preference or part of their normal routine. 🐾 Care in Your Home — Dogs of Any Size & All Animals For dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting in your home, I’m happy to care for dogs of any size, as well as cats and other animals. Whether you have a tiny puppy, a large dog, multiple pets, or a variety of animals, I can provide loving, dependable care tailored to their individual needs and routines. As someone who has used professional pet-sitting services myself, I understand how important it is to feel confident that your pets are safe, comfortable, and receiving plenty of love while you’re away. My goal is to give you peace of mind while making sure your pets feel happy and cared for—whether they’re staying in their own home and routine or enjoying a vacation at my home. I’m comfortable caring for puppies, kittens, seniors, and pets with special needs. I’m also experienced with administering both oral medications and injections. You’ll receive daily updates (or more frequently if you prefer), including photos, so you never have to wonder how your babies are doing. For your added peace of mind, I carry my own pet-sitting insurance. I’m also a non-smoker and non-drinker. Whether you have one dog, a house full of cats, an exotic pet, or a whole farm of animals, I’d love the opportunity to care for them! ❤️ Please feel free to reach out with any questions about me, my services, or my rates. I’d love to meet you and your pets! 🐾 Flexible, At-Home Pet Care Because I work remotely, I have the flexibility to give your pets plenty of love, attention, and companionship throughout the day. My flexible work schedule allows me to adjust my hours around your pets’ needs, whether they’re staying in their own home or boarding with me in my home. When your dog stays with me, they won’t be left alone for long periods of time. I’m able to provide plenty of companionship, potty breaks, playtime, walks, cuddles, and attention throughout the day, while still allowing them to relax and feel comfortable in a home environment. For pets I care for in your home, I can work around their normal routine and provide the individualized care they’re accustomed to. Whether your pet needs regular walks, medication, playtime, extra potty breaks, or simply someone nearby for companionship, my flexible schedule allows me to be there for them. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, loved, comfortable, and well cared for—whether they’re staying in their own home or enjoying a stay at mine.❤️ 🐾 Caring for Your Pets in My Home or Yours Whether your pet is staying with me or I’m caring for them in their own home, my priority is always their safety, comfort, and happiness. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and individual needs so they receive personalized care and plenty of love and attention. I’m experienced with administering both oral medications and injections, and I’m comfortable following specific instructions to help keep your pet’s routine consistent while you’re away. When I’m caring for your pets in your home, I’m also happy to help with the little things that give you extra peace of mind, including bringing in your mail, watering plants, taking out the garbage, and keeping your home looking lived-in. Most importantly, your pets will receive plenty of companionship, affection, playtime, and attention. My goal is for you to feel confident knowing your pets are being cared for with the same love and attention I would want for my own. ❤️

About: Hi there! Ive worked the last 3 years at Petco taking care of a lot of companion animals! I have had dogs, taken care of others dogs, and I currently have 3 cats at home! I started pet sitting for a couple of people about a year ago and want to see if there are more opportunities here! I’m also a pre-med student going into my last year of college and just started working as a patient care assistant! For the summer I will be working a full time job and 2 overnight shifts a week at the hospital. During the fall semester I am hoping to mainly work at the hospital and focus on my classes and pet sitting! Taking care of your pets in their own environment is key to comfort and making sure they feel safe even when you’re out of town. Every animal has their quirks or preference to make them feel happy, safe, and loved. (Even if I have to pretend to 5 star cook their kibble, or spoon feed them their wet food). I do also have experience working with sick animals from hamsters to dogs!

Max was prompt and communicated often with us. He posted several pics of Jake playing in the yard and enjoying himself. I highly recommend Max! We’ll definitely use him again.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pisgah. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
