Steph has shelter experience and grew up with her collie, Spike—her best bud and the original fetch pro. Brian’s had pets his whole life and brings tons of hands-on experience with both dogs and cats. Between the two of us, we’ve cared for animals of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. We’re fully remote and super flexible—so whether you need someone last-minute or want to schedule something regular, we’ve got you. I often go on walks myself am I’m very active. I live close to a few different dog parks as well. Our apartment building has a fenced courtyard. There’s also a dog park not too far from me. About: Former dog owner and shelter volunteer with over 15 years of experience. I’m a go-to sitter for friends and I’m an active runner on the Rockaway boardwalk. I'm very comfortable and capable with all temperaments and energy levels. I have a hybrid work schedule, where I work from home 3 days during the week, and would be able to take breaks for walks. Weekends I am free. I live in a 4th floor walk up that allows pets. Other tenants have dogs. I live less than 1 block away from the boardwalk and beach for walks.

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was about 8 years old. I grew up with a doberman and a cat both of which i loved dearly. I continued to have cats and dogs until I moved out on my own at 25, I now only have cats because of my building but would love to get back to walking and taking care of dogs! I’m a manager at a non-profit animal rescue group and take care of approximately 50 animals a week. This includes feeding, cleaning, playing and monitoring their health! I treat every animal I come into contact with as I would my own. There is always love and the utmost care. I’m on a sabbatical from my full time job now in sustainability so I have lots of time to do some pet care work! I still work at the animal rescue group but that is only part time. I offer services mostly at the client’s home and not my own because of my cats. While super friendly and cuddly I have no idea how they’d react to a large dog! But at the client’s home I’m extremely vigilant about pet safety and know what to do in an emergency. I’m very familiar with walking dogs of all sizes (even great danes) from my time as a doggy daycare employee.

It also includes maintaining cleanliness, following strict protocols, and ensuring a comfortable environment for the animals. Although not as extensive in daycare or clinical facilities, in-home pet care allows for individualized attention where needed as needed without the external stressors of a constantly changing environment. In-home care involves the basics of pet welfare and includes providing food, water, exercise, and companionship. Additionally, administering medication, following specific care instructions, and maintaining a safe environment are crucial, all of which I can provide based on my background and experience.
