“WOW! Lindsey was amazing. More than amazing. Everything I could hope for in a sitter. Within 2 days she had my super shy girl sitting on her lap. This took my husband at least a year and a half to get to that point. She sent pictures showing the same shy girl playing with a wand without the other two cats butting in. They all loved her and from what I could tell, each kitty had equal play and loving. I came home to clean litter boxes, fresh water, happy cats, and a vacuumed house! She genuinely cared about my babies. I almost want to take trips just to have Lindsey come over and love on my cats ❣️”

“Ivy was our first sitter we have used and she was so great! She made me feel like the dogs received so much love and attention while we were away. She also lives super close and that made both of our lives so much easier! I would book her again in a heartbeat. 😊”

“Elizabeth is amazing. She helped me out last minute and it is so obvious that she loves animals. That is what I wanted someone to be here to love my dog and kitties. ❤️ it was only one night, but I hope we have the opportunity to work together again.”

“Sweet, responsive, and responsible. Ramen loves her. She sends lots of updates and photos to keep me informed. It’s so nice to have Izzy to lean on when I need help with sitting Ramen.”

“Darriell went above and beyond when watching our dog and cat. The dog got skittish about walking while we were on vacation and Darriell was patient, communicative, and compassionate. She sent lots of pictures and I felt confident our animals were in good hands. Would definitely book again!”

“Brianna was a fantastic dog and house sitter for our pug, Hurley. He is an older dog who tends to be quite anxious and he took to her well. She was very tending to his needs and all of the instructions that I left for her. She updated me with pictures and let me know how he was doing during our four day trip. When I returned home, our house was kept tidy during her stay. She was very respectful of our home, of our dog, as well as kind and attentive. I felt that Hurley was very safe and well taken care of in Brianna's care! I would highly recommend her for all of your pet sitting and caring needs.”

“Cydnie was great with our dogs and house. She sent daily updates with pictures. Pups seemed happy and relaxed when we arrived home. The house was well taken care of- I’d recommend her highly as you feel at ease leaving your precious pups with her!”

“Mary was excellent! She was quick to respond and the meet and greet went well and she was very patient with our dog. She provided regular updates and we had no issues whatsoever. Highly recommended!”

“Leslie was great. She sent me pictures of my dog and texted updates. I never worried once when I was gone and most of the time I was outside of cell range and had no anxiety about issues popping up and her not being able to handle it. I will definitely use her again in the future.”
“Cheyenne provided excellent care for our two cats, bonded with them, and communicated updates & pictures periodically. She is very personable and professional. We will definitely rebook when we need care again!”

“Angela was great! The dogs seemed happy and well cared for. She sent pictures while we were gone and was responsive to texts. The dishwasher was ran and the towels were washed. The house looked great.”

About: Looking after your pet family is something I specialize in, I've had my own cats, dogs, and even fish since I was 12, and have experience with giving medication to the most stubborn of pets. Old or young, fur or scales, I'd love to give your pets the most comfortable experience :) Available for both weekdays, and weekends, so take those vacations without worry about leaving your pets behind! Can work with daily check-ins, or staying in house. Your pets will not have to stay in an unfamiliar environment while you are gone, this will cause them to be much less stressed about adapting to a strange place, and will make your furry friend the most comfortable!

About: I have taken care of a variety of animals from Great Danes to Mice! Family and friends have asked me to care for their pets and homes while out of town or on vacation. I also worked for a pet store for five years and have tons of experience with pets of every kind! I currently have no fur babies of my own, so I live vicariously through friends and neighbors. I'm always happy to help them with anything they might need for their pets. At my own home, when I had pets, we have a fenced yard and both crated and uncrated dogs, so I am comfortable with a variety of setups. I also spent many years caring for my own pets at an apartment so I am more than willing to take pets out on potty breaks on leash if needed. I also try to play with my critters to help them get energy out and I would be happy to do the same for yours!

“Ashley did a wonderful job watching over our two furbabies. I knowing our leaving can be stressful for them but they must have enjoyed her company since they behaved. We would definitely use Ashley’s services again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Taylor
Michael is such a fantastic dog sitter. He responded last minute, walked my dogs like 5 times per day which is amazing because they are HIGH energy, he stayed the whole time with them since this was an in house stay (I’ve had sitters leave my dogs alone at night so this might not seem like a big deal, though to me it is lol). He was super kind, my Luna loved him which is also huge because she’s usually harder to warm up to than Cosmo. Definitely will use him in the future if he’s available!

Dog, cats all were loved well! She had to stick indoors on some brutal cold days, which makes for some boring times, but lots of cuddles. Additionally brought in the mail AND shoveled the snow! Very professional & responsible. I hope she will be available in the future. Would definitely book again.

Callie is AMAZING! She is so respectful, kind and caring. My two corgis absolutely loved her from the moment they met her. She took great care of them while also taking great care of my home. I cannot say enough good things about her and will for sure be booking her again in the future!

We are so thankful Kasey was available to watch our dogs while we were gone. It’s our first time using rover.com and I dint know what to expect. It was a great experience. Our dogs are calm and chill which wouldn’t be the case if we’d kenneled them. Kasey sent us updates regularly and responded quickly to any text. She left the house super clean. We highly recommend hiring her and will do so again if she’s available when we travel again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Taylor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Taylor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Taylor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Taylor. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
