“Dora was absolutely fantastic- she sent daily updates and it was clear she was taking good care of our pup. We ended up having an emergency and needed to extend our trip by 3 days- she saved us a huge headache and saved the day by being available to stay longer. She left our house clean and well taken care of. I will definitely be asking her to take care of Gizmo again!”

“This was Louis' first time watching our dogs and he was absolutely amazing. Harper is 7 and has never stayed with anyone ever in the 7 years that we have had her and Bailey is almost 10 and had 1 sitter when she was a couple years old. We plan our travels so that the dogs can come with us but unfortunately couldn't do that this time. Louis was patient and caring and a wonderful playmate for our girls. He sent pictures throughout the day and kept in great contact which I really appreciated. We will absolutely hire him next time and I will be sharing his information with my sister who needs a new sitter. ❤️”

“Allea house/dog sat for 8 nights and everything was handled great! We got pictures and updates everyday. Allea had to handle a health issue with our dog and there was a problem with a smoke alarm which she solved. Our home was spotless when we arrived and our dog had been kept safe, fed and walked. We recommend Rover and Allea!”

“Kristen did a great job taking care of our kitty, pond fish and plants, as well as keeping the local strays kitties fed per our instructions. We will certainly hire her again!”

“Emma was great with our senior boy Baal. He injured his eye right before we left so it was threatening to rupture, and Emma did everything necessary to keep him comfy and safe. I really appreciated the daily updates and was able to enjoy my vacation knowing that Emma was comfortable with the medication, eye drops, and clean up necessary. Excellent communication and care!”
“Karen took wonderful care of our pets and home. She is a great communicator and sent many photos of our pets having a great time while we were away. I would not hesitate to book again!”

About: I have over 14 years of experience caring for dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. My background includes lifelong pet ownership, kennel work, veterinary shadowing, and professional pet sitting through Rover. I am comfortable caring for energetic puppies, senior pets, dogs requiring medications (including oral and injectable medications), and pets with special routines or needs. My goal is to provide a calm, structured home where every pet feels safe and comfortable. I understand that every dog is different—some love to play, while others simply want a quiet place to relax. I tailor each stay to your pet's personality, energy level, and routine whenever possible. Safety is one of my highest priorities. I carefully supervise introductions, monitor body language and stress signals, and use separate spaces, baby gates, and crates (when appropriate or requested) to ensure every pet has a positive experience. I believe thoughtful planning and honest communication create the best boarding experience for both pets and their owners. My husband Andrew and I work together to provide attentive care, which means there are two experienced adults available for walks, playtime, supervised introductions, potty breaks, medication administration, and lots of affection. I don't believe every dog is the right fit for every environment—and that's okay. My goal is to ensure every booking is the right fit so every pet can have the safest, happiest, and least stressful experience possible. Whether your pet is staying overnight, spending the day while you're exploring Southern Oregon, or simply needs a safe place to relax while you're out to dinner or attending an event, I strive to treat every guest like a member of our own family. Every pet has their own routine, and I do my best to maintain it while they're in my care. Whether your pet enjoys active play, leisurely walks, or simply lounging nearby, I tailor each day to their individual personality and energy level. I currently work part-time outside the home, but my schedule is intentionally arranged around pet care. Throughout the day, your pet will receive regular potty breaks, supervised playtime, enrichment, exercise, plenty of affection, and opportunities to rest. I also provide regular photo and message updates so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is doing well. Your pet's safety and comfort are my highest priorities. I provide care in a calm, home environment with a fully fenced backyard, baby gates for flexible separation when needed, and thoughtful introductions between dogs. I believe every pet deserves an environment that matches their personality. Some dogs enjoy having a playmate, while others are happiest relaxing on their own—and that's perfectly okay. Our resident pets include: • Benny, our friendly German Shepherd/Border Collie mix, who enjoys meeting new dogs but understands that not every guest wants to play. • Cricket, our tiny 6-pound Chihuahua mix, who generally prefers to quietly observe from a distance. Every once in a while he'll decide another dog is his new best friend—and if that happens, they've definitely won the lottery! Because every pet is different, I supervise interactions closely and adjust the environment to help everyone feel comfortable. My goal is never to force interactions, but to create a positive, low-stress experience for every guest. For first-time boarding and daycare guests—particularly larger dogs or adolescent puppies—I may recommend a Meet & Greet beforehand to ensure my home is the best fit for everyone.

About: I grew up with 3 dogs and a pig. I love all animals. Pigs are my favorite. Hopefully my boyfriend and I are getting a puppy soon. As a full time dog walker/pet sitter I have availability most days. Just give me a heads up and I’ll be playing with your pups in no time :) Unfortunately I can’t board at my apartment. I can however stay overnight at your residence or do frequent check ins depending on your preference.
“Keeley was very kind and competent. Scout seemed to like her right from their first meeting, which gave us a lot of confidence. Since we were away for four days, it was a huge relief knowing he was in such good hands. We felt comfortable throughout the stay, and it was clear that Scout was well cared for. We'd book with Keeley again without hesitation and would definitely recommend her!”

“Anna was a wonderful cat sitter for our cat, Yuki, while we were away for a week. We came home to a happy, relaxed cat who had clearly been well cared for and enjoyed Anna’s company—she cuddled with her, which is always good to see! Anna was attentive, responsible, and left our home in excellent condition. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and trustworthy sitter.”

About: I've been taking care of my own dogs since I was a child and have regularly helped neighbors and family friends with their cats and dogs while they were away- even my friend's mice while they were traveling and my previous roommate's three rats. I'm home from college for the summer and would love to spend my time with your pets! I have a very flexible daily schedule that can adapt to the needs of your pet. My parents have two dogs, one of which is very loving but does not handle other dogs very well. Because of this, I'm not comfortable bringing pets back to my home, but I am very willing to come to your pets to take care of and spend time with them. I am available for shorter drop-in visits, with feeding, play time, and/or walks, as well as longer visits and overnight stays with your pet.
“Atlas was great with our animals! Our Dog and Cat were both very well cared for. Atlas was a great communicator and sent us updates every day while we were gone, will definitely be utilizing her services again next time we are gone 😊”

“Michelle was fantastic and I will absolutely be rebooking! My animals loved them and I was kept in the loop with pictures and updates throughout my leave! Very kind and detail oriented and a fantastic communicator!”

“Bryce is amazing! He is such a nice person! He took wonderful care of Skeeter at the house. Skeeter told us that she had a great time with Bryce. She even went to look for him when he left. We highly recommend him to take wonderful care of your animals! 😃🐶!”

“Olivia did great with my pup! She sent pictures and did daily check ins to reassure my heart while I was away. She also was able to help manage the issues my dog experienced with separation anxiety. She’s great!”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Talent is $50

We were so happy with Atlas (Alyssa) and the care she provided for our dog, Marvin Gayy. As a French Bulldog with a few extra needs, Marvin requires a little more attention, and Atlas was confident, attentive, and never hesitated to ask questions when needed. She kept us updated with photos, and Marvin seemed to really enjoy getting to know her. We felt at ease knowing he was in such good hands. We'd happily book with Atlas again!

Elizabeth is great! A good communicator, clearly a cat person, responsive, and seems to actually appreciate the lengthy notes I leave. In addition to looking after our very rambunctious indoor-only kitten-cat, she fed the local outdoor-only stray we've been looking after, watered plants and fed the fish in our ponds. Plus, she laughs at my jokes, so what's not to like?

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Talent on Rover is $42.18 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Talent walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Talent maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Talent choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Talent. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
