About: Veterinary assistant ~10 years I have worked in the Veterinary field for most of my adult life as a veterinary assistant. I worked in general practice clinics, ER and specialty clinics, including some Fear-Free facilities. I gained so much knowledge, worked with so many different animals, and became very comfortable administering medications and providing personalized care to the animal's needs. This also gave me a lot of insight into behavioral details of dogs and cats. I can read body language better with every new pet I meet! Animal Control Officer ~2 years Working with the shelter and as an officer opened my eyes to another side of the pet world. It was very fulfilling to help pets who had various needs and no one else to care for them. I helped place many in homes, removed many from bad situations, and worked in the shelter itself. Dog & Cat Sitter ~10 years On and off I have done pet sitting and house sitting for clients and friends. I would often help owners to administer their cat's subcutaneous fluid injections, insulin injections, and more. Sometimes they just needed help learning to do it on their own, sometimes they were long standing clients for their medically needy seniors. I love making dogs and cats more comfortable when their owners aren't home, and have enjoyed seeing their personality come out so much more than when they're at the vet. Farm Hand ~15 years I have worked on several farms (and had my own!) with all kinds of animals, including some that were also dog breeders. I got to help with litters of puppies and thoroughly enjoyed seeing them grow up. I work from home and currently set my own hours. We can absolutely fit your pet's needs into my day. If they're in my home they will get loving interaction through the day. I have fenced in areas for pets to go outside and a nice neighborhood we can walk. I'm happy to take your pet to my local park for some extra sniffy time as well. They will always be on leash outside of my fenced in areas. I do offer pickup/drop off services if you don't have transportation for your pet.
