“Absolutely fantastic! Our rather anxious poodles settled in with her quickly, she did an amazing job taking care of them and her photo updates were adorable. She also did a great job communicating with us and coordinating. House was A++ after her two week stay. It was a huge releif to have such a wonderful person taking care of our dogs while we were out of town!”

“Elena house sat for our two dogs & cat and treated them with the utmost care. She also sent pics/video updates. We didn't have to worry at all knowing our pets were in good hands.”

“Alicia was great with our silly crazy pup. She recognized that he is definitley our fur baby and took care of him just the same. She was GREAT with wanting to understand his day to day and giving great updates while we were out of town. We could tell when we came home, based on his behavior, and no torn up toys that she was very attentive to him while she was here. Thank you again Alicia!”

“Danielle was AWESOME! Super communicative, shared a lot of unrequested photos which shows she truly cares, and the house was perfect when I got home. Will definitely reach out to her again for sitting needs.”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life and my grandma used to train guide dogs for the blind so I have a lot of experience with dogs. I am a student at WOU and I work part time so I have plenty of time to hang out, walk and play with your dog or cat. I don’t have any pets of my own but I love taking dogs on walks or running around and playing with them in the fields around my apartment.
About: I have been around dogs since I was a baby. I trained my sister's dog when I was 12 and took care of her for three months while she was gone. Shortly after she moved out I got my own dog who inspired me to get into dog training. I have house sat since I was 16 and have helped around 7 local families with their dogs and cats. I was a kennel tech for a year and gained knowledge and experience from that as well. I am currently a full-time student, and aspiring dog trainer, so I have time and availability throughout the day to take care of animals. And the care of animals fits with my long term goal so I can make it a priority. My dog has a quarter acer back yard and gets taken on walks daily, and I fit training in where I can. He gets a chew toy and a sniff mat for enrichment most days on top of eating from a slow feeder for meals.
About: Suz and Brian have both been lifelong pet parents. Suz worked for a pet hospital for years and almost all of our pets over the last 20 years have been special needs rescue babies.(diabetic, blind, deaf, liver shunt, dementia, cancer, etc) This means we are well versed in special needs care for your special needs kiddos. Pills, SubQ injections, SubQ fluids, bandage changes, glucose testing, Suz works remotely from home, available to your pet as needed through the day for loves, medicine, etc. Brian currently works out of the home but will be retiring soon and will then be 100% dedicated to caring for the pets of our clients! We are available for meet and greet, home checks, and drop off/pick up almost any time day or night and will work with you to schedule what is best for you and your pet(s). Ensuring you are comfortable with who is caring for your pet(s) is second only to your pet(s) safety and well being in our care! Cat boarding: since we have a cat of our own and we know other cats may not be ooen to meeting her (she is ok with others.. mostly ignores them) we have a dedicated cat boarding room where she cannot go near them. Our yard has no grass (rock and astroturf) so no nasty ticks riding our coattails into the home to come in contact with your kitty. Brian is available for drop in care or overnight boarding in your home for dogs and/or cats. This is what we prefer for our own pets when we are away, maintaining their routines etc as best as possible, so want to be sure you have this option too! All of our personal pets are fully vaccinated and receive regular flea treatment.
About: I have been pet sitting since I was 13. Whether it was my own while my parents were gone or friends and neighbors as I got older. I have cared for both really active dogs that need to run all the time and older slower pets that need a lot of attention to details. I am currently a student at Western Oregon University enjoying my summer break back home. So I am available any time as I can create my own schedule. I can’t keep pets here but I am willing and able to do anything needed whether it is crating or making sure they are properly leashed if need be. I can also just watch as they run around!
About: I’ve been taking care of all kinds of animals since I was little! I have a huge soft spot for all animals. My family and friends always rely on me to care for their houses and pets! With a sudden and unexpected loss of a loved one recently, I decided to take some time off and be more focused on myself. That being said, my schedule is extremely open and flexible! I have a very high energy boarder collie so working with energetic dogs are not a problem for me whatsoever! I understand every animal should be getting their energy out and enjoy their lives!
About: I have a lot of love for animals. I am interested in dog walking or taking care of dogs/cats when you just need a little vacation to yourself or a busy day ahead! I have two years of experience with dog sitting. I have taken dogs on walks, stayed over night at the owner's home, fed them, play with them, and clean up after them when they have accidents. I have also taken dogs to vet appointments. I am not afraid of any type of dogs. They have this effect on me that makes me fall in love with them or feel better when I'm feeling down. I’m currently off of my main job as a special needs aide at a middle school as it is summer time! I have a lot of free time right now. I always want pets to feel safe and secure when they’re with me. I like using a soft voice with dogs, unless told to be more stern by the owners. I have experience with dogs that have been abused and are more timid, I usually sit on the floor with them until they trust me enough to come up to me.
“Tiffany continues to be a joy to work with. Our kiddos adore her and she is so good with them. She is so observant that I feel like she catches things that I would normally catch as a pretty hyper-vigilent pet mom. She gives regular updates and photos and is friendly and awesome.”

“Charlotte was an absolutely amazing dog sitter. I would hire her again in a heart beat. She was so sweet and the perfect match for our two huskies. One of our huskies is blind and pretty timid, and she even won her over, which can be a pretty difficult feat. I can’t thank her enough. Our dogs are probably going to be disappointed that we are home since she took such great care of them. We would highly recommend Charlotte.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Grants Pass
Tiffany was exemplary! She met with us and the cats beforehand. Then, she came early for last-minute instructions. While we were away, she sent darling pictures of the cats. She took care of everything we asked her to do. We highly recommend her and will definitely request her in the future.

Becky did an outstanding job staying at our house with our dog for 5 days. He is large senior dog who takes a lot of medications and has a few behavioral challenges. Although he is senior, he still requires plenty of stimulation and exercise. Becky sent us many photos of their walks so we could feel at ease. Our dog was well taken care of, that’s for sure! She watered our garden, too! When we got home from our trip, our dog was pretty tired. A great sign! We highly recommend Becky.
Oh man, what a gem we found in Kristina. She is just wonderful with the dogs and cat. They were happy and content when I returned from my trip, a much needed breath of fresh air after our last boarding experience. Never again will we board!! Kristina was very prompt with communication and I loved the pictures. She took great care of the house even washed the sheets and towels for us, very nice touch. Loved having Winter there too, nice to have another pup for mine to hang with. Thank you Kristina we look forward to having you again in the future.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Grants Pass walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Grants Pass maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Grants Pass choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Grants Pass. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
