About: We are excellent dog, cat, bird, poultry, reptile, and fish caretakers as we have raised most of these, and a few years ago, we had a thriving Rover business taking care of folks' animal babies. We can take care of medications if your pet needs: We have administered medicine to most of the animals on our list, including oral medication for a rooster and injections for a snake. We have had some experience in training our current dog as a service animal. While we have not had the chance to care for farm animals on our own, we love them and have had experience being around them (horses, sheep, goats, cows, pigs, alpaca). Animals, plants, gardens, farms, and home-care are all in our wheelhouse and are the foundations to our lives. If you are looking to have your fur baby stay with us, we have a large home with a fenced backyard. Our German Shepherd loves to play with other dogs, and we take him and our guests to local dog parks or fenced fields to play ball and or frisbee. We take care of our guests exactly how we want our pup to be taken care of! I work part time remotely and part time I will need to be in the field. What that means is a lot of the time, I will be in the home, hanging with your furry, feathered, or scaly baby, working on my laptop. During the times I need to work outside of the home, my 19 year old daughter (who has been doing Rover with me since she was 11) will give the best care in my place. I have a thriving Airbnb business in my home for over a decade, so I have a ton of experience and mindset on home-care: I treat other folks' pets and homes as well as I treat my own. I make it point to keep my clients connected via photos and updates. If I am providing boarding in my home, our 4 year old German Shepherd will love to play with your pup. If I am providing sitting in your home, then my pup will stay home unless requested for a playmate in your home.
“Kelly took great care of our boys and provided daily updates and pictures, which is so appreciated while we’re away and missing our boys. She knows each of their personalities and needs so well. Both boys were well cared for and felt plenty of love while we were away. Kelly also picked up our backyard area, took out the trash, brought in mail, and kept the house in great shape.”
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover and proud dog mom to my 6 y/o pandemic pup. I grew up around dogs and have spent years helping care for family dogs. As a dog mom myself, I understand how much our pets mean to us and how important it is to have someone trustworthy caring for them. I know firsthand that sometimes it takes a village, and I love being able to help fellow pet parents feel confident that their dogs are safe, happy, and loved while they're cared for! I’m currently a PhD student studying for my qualifying exams, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend a lot of time at home. As a dog mom myself, daily walks, feeding schedules, playtime, and making sure pets feel comfortable are already part of my everyday life. I’m able to plan my work around pet care needs and can provide attentive, consistent care throughout the week. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I try to keep their routine as consistent and comfortable as possible. I know being away from their owners can be stressful for some pets, so I make sure they get plenty of attention, care, playtime, walks, and patience while also respecting their individual personalities and boundaries. I understand how important trust and communication are, and I aim to make both pets and pet parents feel comfortable. I’ve always had a good rapport with dogs and know how to work with different energy levels, sizes, temperaments, and comfort needs.
“Suhani is such a wonderful person. She was active with our two dogs, walking them daily and was flexible and helpful when our travel plans got delayed. We came home to a clean house and she navigated our backyard project, sending us updates all the while dealing with not having a yard for the dogs to go out in. I highly recommend Suani, though we’d like to keep her for ourselves.”

“Mehma has house sat my two dogs several times now (and hopefully many more times in the future). My dogs can be slow to warm up to new people, but it was love at first sight… although both have some separation anxiety, Mehma gives the calmest vibes and I think they really feel comfortable with her. She is also a great guest and always tidies up after herself. Mehma is trustworthy, flexible, dependable, and great with dogs, and I recommend her wholeheartedly!”

“We got introduced to Esmerilda through a mutual connection and from the moment we met her we knew she’d be a great fit for our felines! As an aspiring veterinarian, Esmerilda has great attention to detail and is confident in handling pets with special needs or complicated medical demands. We had her house/pet sit for us for 10 days while we were out of the country and never once did we have a worry about how things were going. It’s great that we have found our best friends’ new best friend!”

About: - Butler to one angry cat since 2019 and one shy cat since 2024 - Fostered and found homes for dogs flown in from other countries - Administered 100+ vaccines for dogs and cats in shelter led vaccine clinics - Worked in veterinary clinical settings since 2021 A student whose only activities are home, school, and occasionally work, and would love to expand her pet friend circle! I need pet time to function properly. Provide care to your fur babies while allowing them to stay in the comfort of their own home, alleviating the unnecessary stress of being somewhere new and away from their family. Very flexible on schedule, pet needs (ie: playtime, potty breaks, feeding, grooming, etc.), and friendly quirks (ie: special food prep, bedtime routines, etc.)

“Michelle was very reliable and provided consistent communication while we were away from our pups. Her professionalism allowed us to not worry and truly enjoy our vacation.”

About: I have loved animals ever since I was young, spending a lot of time taking care of my own, family, and friend’s pets. From high energy play to slow and chill pets I have experienced it all. My personal pet, Luke, is my pride and joy, he loves to play all of the time and even knows sit, stand, follow, high five, and first bump! 🐱 My goal is to make sure your pets feel the love and quality care I make sure to treat my fur baby with. ♥️ I am currently working remotely, thus, I have tons of time to give your pets plenty of love and care! If you need any specifics please let me know, I am willing to work with you and take care of your needs hassle free. I personally have a 7 month old kitten and I believe the care I provide for him highlights the level of care I would provide your pet. While my cat has a very out going and high energy personality, I also love and enjoy pets who are shy or reserved. I can change my care as needed. However, the following is the care I provide my pet. - Litter Box scooping 2x a day - Preparing and Feeding 2x a day - Plenty of Play Time - Training with Treats - Tons of cuddles - Brushing - Teeth brushing daily

“Jenna is the best Rover sitter I've found! Sends regular updates, is super thoughtful and takes great care of my older pup. Trustworthy, reliable. Have used her before and will continue to book with her!”

About: When I was 9, I got my first dog, and that is how I started to be interested in being a vet and take care of dogs. I’m a UCD Animal Science student. My class schedule is not very busy other than Thursdays for this quarter, so I will be home most of the time other than that. I have 3 roommates (2 are also Animal Science students) who also loves animals and knows how to take care of them and have experiences with pets. There will usually be at least 1-2 person at home always. We have plenty of space for your pet to run around in the house, and a yard which we can be taking the dog out for potty breaks.

“Dmitriy was great from booking through sitting. He was very responsive and was great with providing updates. Looking forward to booking him again for our next trip.”

“Hernan took excellent care of Bailey, our golden retriever. Hernan was an excellent communicator. He provided updates and photos, walked and played ball with Bailey. He stayed at our home and was an excellent and tidy guest. We would definitely use Hernan again!”

“Xitlalli is amazing! Not only did she keep me updated while she was babysitting but also sent the cutest pictures :) Most of all...I had piece of mind knowing our Jersey girl was in great hands! No worries whatsoever! Definitely would book Xitlalli again!!”
“This was the first time Jenna sat for our pets and home. She came to our house for a meet and greet in advance and came back the day before we left to review the pets routine. She asked very thoughtful questions about their needs and it is clear her vet tech background gives her a professional edge at caring for pets. This is particularly helpful for us as we have a cat with medical needs and some extra care requirements. Our house was clean and pets were happy when we returned. Would recommend.”

“Cheryl was wonderful with our two dogs. We had a last minute emergency and asked Cheryl to start her house sitting stay earlier, which she was able to accommodate. Our dogs take some time to warm up to new people, but they seemed so comfortable in Cheryl's care, which gave us a ton of peace of mind during a difficult time. She was also great at communicating with us through the booking process and during her stay and was a very gracious house guest.”

“Jiajie was SUPBERB! She gave outstanding care to our puppy! Our puppy had a fantastic time with her (and her sweet dogs). Her communication, while we traveled overseas, was top-notch!!! She was beyond the best- highly highly highly recommend her and will definitely book with her again!”

Mya was amazing. I had two other sitters drop out at the last minute. She was responsive and stayed in contact both before the trip and during the trip. My older male cat doesn’t like too many people. He barely comes to me. He came straight to her during the meet and great. My house and animals were very well taken care of. I would gladly book her again if she is available.

This is my second time booking with XingYuan and I am very pleased with the care she gave to Koko. She sent me pictures and communicated consistently throughout the pet sitting which was very reassuring given that it was Koko’s first time away from family for several days :)

Ally came to my house to take care of my 12-week-old puppy while I was attending a wedding. She has visited with my puppy before, and when Ally walked into the house, my puppy was overjoyed to see her! Ally is highly attuned to my dog's needs. She plays games, cuddles, feeds, and even trains my puppy. While she was with my puppy, she sent me photos and updates, which were such a comfort! My house was clean and organized when I came home almost nine hours later, and my puppy was happy and relaxed. Ally is a rare gem!

Alina is absolutely incredible. She took such amazing care of our dogs. She went above and beyond by brushing them and even cleaning up around our home before we returned from our trip. She is so sweet and caring and we will absolutely use her again as a sitter. Thank you Alina!!!

Mehma was fantastic! She took wonderful care of our dog and cat, along with our home while we were away. Really appreciated how responsive she was too, checking in with photos of our pets throughout the day. We’d be lucky to have Mehma pet sit for us again!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 2,671 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Swingle. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Swingle walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Swingle maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Swingle choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Swingle. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
