“Suhani was an amazing pet sitter for my dog, Luna. She sent pictures of her every day I was on vacation and was great at communication. She really put my mind at ease while I was away. I will definitely be using her services again!”

“Susan was great and my dog immediately took to her. And then proceeded to follow her around like a little shadow for the rest of her visit. Thanks for you patience and cuddliness with my stage 5 clinger Susan!!”

“Our dogs Brenda and Mickey were in great care with Maria. When they go to a boarding facility, they are stressed and lose weight. Luckily, they were able to stay home and Maria gave them the love and attention they need to feel comfortable and happy while we were gone. I definitely recommend Maria!”
“Thank you Cheryl . The first meet we had my dog my dog was super excited . This was my first time experiencing this app so she was able to explain to me about herself and how it works . I’m glad that on my first go round I got it right . Even tho it was only a dog sit for a night Cheryl kept me posted with everything they did and really thank her for that . We will book again soon 🩶 .”

“My 200 pound mastiff was being as uncooperative as he could be when Christina was meeting his twice daily medical needs. She remained calm, patient and caring the entire time. I could not ask for more diligent and loving care for my dogs.”

“Kelly was so fantastic with our dog all weekend. She made sure our little 60 lb girl went on fun news adventures while also getting needed downtime at home, and had excellent communication throughout. Our dog gets a little anxious under new circumstances but seemed right at home with Kelly.”

“Rachel was amazing. She met with us on short notice and stayed with our dogs. We received messages and pictures. First time using Rover.com, highly recommend, and will definetly use the service again.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life and I appreciate every minute I have with them and all animals. I’ve created my own dog walking business several years ago and gained lots of experience working with and observing the ways dogs function. I am currently Undergrad at UC Davis but use my free time to walk the dogs at Yolo County Animal Shelter. These days, I am working hard at school but appreciate the time I have with any animal! Besides the occasional study session or family vacation, I am free! I am comfortable crating, feeding, watering or walking any pets! I am happy to help take care of other household chores like watering plants or taking in mail!
“Joel was great to work with and took excellent care of Indy. The week before my booking, my dog fell ill and needed to take medication. Joel was flexible and accommodated the changes like a pro. I will definitely work with Joel again.”

“Mya was amazing. I had two other sitters drop out at the last minute. She was responsive and stayed in contact both before the trip and during the trip. My older male cat doesn’t like too many people. He barely comes to me. He came straight to her during the meet and great. My house and animals were very well taken care of. I would gladly book her again if she is available.”

“Jenna is the best Rover sitter I've found! Sends regular updates, is super thoughtful and takes great care of my older pup. Trustworthy, reliable. Have used her before and will continue to book with her!”

About: I've had cats and dogs my entire life, and volunteered at the Bradshaw Animal Shelter for a year after college. I've fostered kittens and a senior cat with medical issues, and cared for many older pets over my life. I once house sit for a family with rabbits so I have a little bit of familiarity with them. I have house sit for friends with a standard poodle and a mini doodle, including giving the standard poodle his daily medication and taking them both for twice daily trips to the park. I have also checked in on my parents' two dogs and 5+ cats to feed them, let them out for potty breaks, play with them, and give them medication. My sweet orange tabby got cancer a few years ago and I fed him three times a day through a feeding tube and administered his medication as well. I work some evenings, so I am free most of the day to care for your furry friends. I take care of my own senior kitty in the mornings, after my evening shifts, and during any free days. I have pet sat for friends and family before, including giving medication and two daily walks. I will follow all instructions to the letter and ensure your pet feels right at home.
“Natalie beat my expectations! She was extremely attentive of the dogs in every way. My house looked better than when I left it and the dogs were very sad to see her go. I will certainly be using her services again and I wish I used her in the past. I’m recommending her to all the pet owners in my family because she made house sitting feel truly seamless. She even watered my plants and picked up after my dogs which were things I told her she didn’t have to do! Thank you so much!”

“The best gift when you can't take your companions on a trip is to know someone will take care of them and give you a peace of mind. Ashley did. She is amazing and is a great communicator. I left behind a 14 year old blob and a 6 years skittish lab and I was worried about the younger pup. It was the 14 year old senior that kept Ashley up at night. Ashley kept me posted on the situation, we kept the communication open to make sure Hunter is ok. Things happened but the best way to know how awesome your substitute is, is to experience their problem solving ability. Ashley got everything under control. I highly recommend Ashley and would love to get her help again. She is definitely more than 5 stars rating.”

“Dani is an absolute top notch dog sitter. She watched our dogs and our house over the week of Christmas while we traveled. She made sure to meet the dogs before that week, asked all the important questions, and was patient with our picky little Chihuahua. While we were gone she sent daily photos, clarified anything that wasn’t clear, and made sure our dogs were entertained during a rainy couple of days. She left our house clean and well cared for. I would ask her to dog sit again in a heartbeat.”

“Kelly took great care of our boys and provided daily updates and pictures, which is so appreciated while we’re away and missing our boys. She knows each of their personalities and needs so well. Both boys were well cared for and felt plenty of love while we were away. Kelly also picked up our backyard area, took out the trash, brought in mail, and kept the house in great shape.”
About: My entire life, my family has had at least two dogs, so I'm very well versed and familiar with the care and attention that a variety of different dog breeds need to get. In addition, I have two kittens of my own, who are extremely well cared for. Animals are my passion in life, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I can guarantee your fur babies will get all of the love, attention, and care in the world while I'm watching them. I'm a student and work part-time, so I'm busy but have a schedule that easily allows me to check in on your pets as-needed! I can check in frequently, spend hours with your pets, and sleep over if preferred. How I care for your pets depends on your personal instructions, boundaries, and expectations, and the specific needs of your pet, if applicable. I always closely follow all instructions and requests that I receive, so that I can best make your pet(s) comfortable and within their usual routines, and to best respect your home.

“We appreciate how Allie cared for Whippley. As a senior dog, he has more needs with specific instructions for meds and mobility, and Allie made it easy to feel confident. We were grateful for the photos and updates, and we would work with Allie again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 2,554 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Saxon. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Saxon walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Saxon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Saxon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Saxon. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
