“We had such a great experience with Lisa! This was our first time boarding Nelson and we were nervous going in, but within a few hours we could tell he was in the best hands. We couldn’t believe she got our usually pretty mellow dog out hiking and to farmers markets — stuff we never expected him to do! It was so clear he trusted her and had a blast, and he came home with the biggest smile. She kept us updated the whole time and communicated so well before and during the visit. We’ll 100% be booking with her again!”

“Riitta is amazing! We had water damage at our house, and she took our dog on very short notice—even though she had vacation plans. When the mitigation ended up taking longer than expected, she was kind enough to let us extend our dog's stay, again on short notice. So happy with her services!!”

“Kathy and Jeff took such great care of our dog that our only concern was how she’d react to coming home. She was busy busy busy! She had tons of opportunities to be social, she got a lot of exercise and Kathy even helped us narrow down foods that she isn’t tolerating well. We got updates as much as we wanted and I know Dory has been well loved.”
“We had a wonderful experience with Romy! She took excellent care of Uni and gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We received regular updates, photos, and could tell our dog was happy, comfortable, and well loved. Romy was reliable, communicative, flexible and treated our dog like her own. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring sitter.”

“Heather has cared for Koda twice and she is amazing! I appreciate that she keeps me up to date with pictures and my guy always looks happy and relaxed. We love Heather!!”

“Our two dogs were well loved and taken care of! I know our dogs must have loved the attention from the child in the household. We appreciated the flexibility when we needed to add more days, too.”

“Tracy took excellent care of Nicco. Tracy has years of experience raising and training dogs, and I felt very comfortable leaving Nicco in her care. Nicco fit in well with her family and her pack and seemed to really enjoy his time “on the farm.” I will definitely request to board again in the future!”

“Jenny made our dogs feel so at home and gave updates to us while we were away. Leaving for 2 weeks internationally took alot of trust in those caring for our dogs. Jenny went over and beyond to make sure that we enjoyed our vacation and didn't have to worry about our dogs. From enrichment activities, to walks, to cuddles, - our dogs couldn't have had it better. We would 100% have Jenny care for our dogs again. Thanks Jenny!”

“Zankhana was a wonderful sitter and will use her again. She provided a lot of updates and pics while she had Kevin which is exactly what I needed to put my mind at ease.”

“Rochelle and her husband took such good care of our senior dog. She kept us updated on his adventures while we were traveling. I know that he enjoyed him time with them! Thanks for taking such good care of him. It was a pleasure.”
“Tunyi was calm and wonderful with our dog. She made a special effort to encourage him to eat and sent many pictures and videos each day. Highly recommend!!”

“Bodhi has the BEST time with Ketaki. I could not ask for better care. She is absolutely amazing-taking Bodhi for regular walks, giving him so much love and sending me great updates all the time! Your pup would be lucky to stay with her! 🩷🩷🩷”

“Our dog had a fantastic time with Debbie while we were away. She made sure our dog was well fed and had plenty of walks or exercise. I highly recommend Debbie to anyone with hypoallergenic dogs!”

“Karina is an amazing sitter, she was clear and communicative while watching my golden retriever and always would reach out if anything. I would recommend her to anyone.”

“Peach stayed at Janin’s house for the second time this weekend. Once again, she had a vacation at Janin’s. There was the gorgeous yard to explore, the dogs to play with, and the loving family inside where she was welcome to be comfortable. I can’t recommend Janin enough for how wonderful her care has been for Peach!!”

“Natalie is wonderful! As soon as we got there she made me and my girl comfortable. My dog is very perceptive with people and animals. If she isn’t comfortable she won’t go near them. Immediately my dog was wagging her tail and happy to be there. Likewise, when we picked her up she was happy. While greeting us she kept going back to Natalie as well. I will definitely want my girl to stay with Natalie again. What a relief to find a loving compassionate caring home for my girl when we need one”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Stuart
Lindsay, thank you for taking our girl on so many hikes and helping to keep our active Doberman happy, and well-exercised. She loves staying with you, and she has enjoyed many visits over the years with many more to come. Thank you as well for driving all the way to our house to return the items we left behind. If that wasn't enough, you even went out of your way to pick up the Pup Cup treat I forgot to send with her. You consistently go above and beyond, and we are so grateful for the exceptional care you provide. Libby looks forward to her next stay with you.

Trinity is amazing! I had to board my dogs last minute and she was super accommodating. She’s very skilled at managing different dog personalities and medical needs. Plus my flight back home had every delay imaginable and she worked with me to coordinate a late night pick up. She went above and beyond. I will be rebooking Trinity for all my pet care needs is going forward.

Junie had the best time with Cathryn and we were happy that she was having a fun staycation while we were on vacation! Room to roam and gain independence, endless places to explore and a calm person who accepts all the wackiness that Aussies bring! Thanks for a great stay- we are so appreciative!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Stuart home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Stuart.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Stuart sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
