“Elizabeth deserves 6 stars!! This was our first experience with Rover.com and Elizabeth. We can’t say enough about how wonderfully she cared for our 16 week old puppy ! She arrived promptly for the two Thanksgiving evening visits and followed our instructions to the T. She gave our “Neo” lots of love and sent us lots of pics and updates so we were able to enjoy our evening away without worry. She’s awesome! I will definitely ask Elizabeth to puppy sit for us again!”

“Patricia is great! She truly cares for our fur baby and takes all steps necessary to make sure all her needs are met while we're away. She's extremely flexible and worked with us on some scheduling changes during a recent trip. She stays in communication, raises any concerns and most importantly made sure our finicky girl as fed, comfortable and happy. She also made sure her medication was properly and timely given. I loved receiving her notes and photos of our dog after each visit as well. I'd definitely recommend Patricia!”

“Stephanie takes great care of all of our pets, is quick to respond to questions/concerns about them, and was able to accommodate our booking on a day's notice due to a family emergency that required us to travel immediately. I highly recommend her!”
“Kathleen is a very reliable and kind pet sitter. I hired her for 23 days for my cat Midnight while I was out of the country. Needless to say I was very worried about leaving my cat home alone for this long a duration. But Kathleen checked in every single day at the time agreed on previously and customized the care of my pet. My cat is a picky eater, and Kathleen accommodated every change I had to make to her feeding routine. She also kept the home aired and made sure the home conditions were perfect for the cat. I came home to a happy and healthy cat! Kathleen is a great find and I will definitely hire her again!”
About: I've cared for pets since I was 16 years old. I helped my family, friends, and neighbors when they needed someone to take care of their pet(s). I've cared for a ton of pets ranging from fish, hermit crabs, birds, bunnies, gerbils, hamsters, cats, to dogs. I love dogs so much I created a dog blog on the side as a hobby. I am currently writing remotely from home for work with a flexible schedule with time to also take care of your pet during most of the hours. I am easily able to take care of my own dog with ease. I have a little teddybear dog of my own, and completely understand the love and care pets receive from their owners. I get that it is your baby you do not need to worry. I will respect, honor, and care for your pet just as you would.
“Great experience!! Marisa just finished several days of daily drop-ins for my three precious brother cats. They had the same sitter for almost nine years in TX, but we moved back to NY and did not have anyone here yet for nearly two years. I was so nervous about having a new sitter because our cats require so much TLC and laptime, and so one of us always stayed behind with them. I knew the moment I walked in from our trip, that the kitties were calm and happy. Marisa gave them so much TLC and kept me informed daily with photos and reports about how well they were adjusting. Marisa is truly an animal person, and I could see how they naturally took to her right away. She was thorough and confident with instructions and care, and she reassured me that they would be in good hands!!! Very true and very happy to share that!!”

“While on vacation our young pup wouldn’t stop crying when she was left alone in our beach rental. Lauren was able to help watch her the very next morning. So responsive! So sweet! So punctual! I can’t say enough good things about Lauren!”
“Christy is excellent. she was prompt, courteous, cool and easy going. followed all the directions we left for our kittens and even stepped up and cared for our tarantula! one of our cats is a BIG scaredy cat and likes no one but us…Christy had her out and about and playing with her within…like a day. she’s the real deal. we will certainly give her a call next time we go on holiday and so should you! thank you big time, Christy! 🫶🏽🩷”

“Marta is fantastic! I could tell from the moment I met her that she would be very confident and responsible. We have a very nervous and shy senior cat on prescription food, pill and supplements for kidney disease, and he hid under the bed when she came twice a day and at one point stopped eating. She was very patient and diligent about messaging with me and following instructions for different foods and treats to get him to start eating again. The house looked very neat when we returned. We already booked her for our trip in September!”
“Wow. I can’t say enough about the quality of care Brandon provided to our active dog Coco (who needed medicine administered and extra TLC during his visit) and our kitty Cora. His communication with us and the animals was wonderful, he updated us in real time, and everyone was in great shape when we arrived home. We’ll definitely be rebooking with Brandon!”

About: In addition to having my own family dog, I grew up taking care of other family & neighbors’ pets. This included regular walks, feeding, and overnight care. I’ve now been doing Rover for the last 6 years, taking care of dozens of dogs and cats, most of which return for recurring care — from drops ins to daycare and week+ long overnight stays. I work from home full time, so I can spend time with and be available for pets throughout the entire day. I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to stay with pets all day or drop in as needed. I’m a very attentive pet lover - always playing with/petting them. Odds are I’ll pay more attention to them than my job during work hours.

About: I grew up in Oklahoma on 90 acres with cows, horses, cats, and dogs. I've always had a passion for animals and the outdoors. One of the unique experiences I offer is adventure outings for your pup. Living near the beach allows me to provide refreshing beach walks, and as an avid hiker, I also enjoy taking dogs on scenic trail adventures where they can safely explore and enjoy nature. I currently have two dogs of my own—a Miniature Dachshund and a German Shepherd mix we rescued. If your dog would benefit from a positive, supervised social outing, I’m happy to provide that as well. Growing up, I regularly cared for and walked neighbors’ and family members’ pets, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust. My goal is to give you peace of mind while your pet has a fun, enriching experience. You can rest assured that your furry family members will be cared for and loved as if they were my own. As a full-time dog dad to my two pups, I maintain a flexible schedule and am readily available to help ensure your pets receive the care and attention they deserve. Whether it’s a quick neighborhood walk for exercise or an extended stay with a pet who needs a little extra companionship, I’m here to provide dependable, attentive care. My goal is to give you peace of mind while you’re away, knowing your pets are safe, happy, and fully cared for. I am committed to providing a high level of personalized care and attention to every client. I ensure that when you book a walk or service with me, your pets receive my full, undivided focus. This dedicated one-on-one time allows me to tailor each visit to your pet’s individual needs, personality, and routine. I also have a spacious SUV available for safe transportation if needed. For dogs who enjoy a little extra adventure, I offer nature hikes as an additional service, giving them the opportunity to explore and exercise in a safe, supervised environment. Feel free to send me a message with what you’re looking for, and I’ll respond as soon as possible. I look forward to connecting with you and your pets!
“Carrie was very happy with the care that Maria gave her. When I got back after a 10 day trip, Carri was in great spirits and eating well. This was a fantastic experience for me, especially receiving pictures of Carrie at the care visits. Thank Maria!”

Kathleen is just the best! She takes great care of my dad’s cat— she gives her play time and makes sure her litter box is clean and that she has everything she needs. My dad’s cat is critical to his well-being, and Kathleen’s visits ensure that Kelly is happy and healthy and can remain with my dad as he ages.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Stony Point. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
