We are a repeat customers of Oleg. This time he took care of my dog while we were away for the entire week. He took such great care of her! He walked her and petted her and made sure she was eating. I could not be happier with how he treated my dog, it is as if she was his own pet. He loves animals and it shows. And special thank you for saving a baby turtle that fell into our pool.

About: I’ve owned my pug, Pinky, for 14 years and have grown up with her. During this time, I’ve gradually grown attentive to her needs and different emotions depending on her body language. We adopted Fendi 4 years ago, and I’ve learned to multitask with their age difference and introduce unfamiliar dogs in a safe manner. I’m currently staying home from college and am looking to spend my free time doing something I love. I have two dogs at home that I currently take care of, and would love to be able to provide a safe and comforting environment for other dogs as well. I have two friendly dogs and a fenced yard with plenty of space for them to play. I also have a crate and extra dog supplies if needed.

About: Growing up, I have always looked after dogs of close friends and family, and have studied nutrition and health, which led me to work at a pet hotel for about a year with almost every dog breed. My responsibilities included prepping food, cleaning, 1 on 1 play, and group play. I have been in charge of up to 20 dogs at 1 time. I also co-own a dog named Luna. The other owner and I had Luna since she was a puppy and she is now 5 years old. I teach obedience/behavior training to many dogs and I develop trust with dogs that is unique to my experience with various breeds. It takes patience and consistency to be a great leader for dogs and I wear my heart on my sleeve for every dog I'm caring for; communication with your dog is key. I currently work with dogs full time and make Dog care apart of my every day routine, if I'm not with my dog I'm working with other dogs. I have a good size open backyard and toys depending on the play style of your dog; crate training is much appreciated if they are familiar. Walks are frequent, especially for high energy dogs

About: Hi! I’m a dog lover and proud dog mom to my rescue pup, China 🐾 I also have experience with cats as I grew up with one my whole life, so I’m comfortable caring for both dogs and cats! I’ve pet sat for friends and family over the years and know how important it is to have someone trustworthy and caring looking after your pets. I’m available on weekends for walks and drop-ins and I’ll always treat your pets like they’re my own 😊 Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine since I have my own dog, China. My weekends are usually pretty flexible, which is why I’m available for walks and drop-ins. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so fitting pet care into my routine feels natural! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I try to keep them as comfortable and stress free as possible by following their normal routine closely. For walks and drop-ins, I make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, potty breaks, fresh water, meals if needed, and of course lots of love and care. I also know how important updates are, so I’m happy to send photos and check-ins!

About: There was never a time in my household where we had fewer than 3 pets, and at other times we've had up to 7 or 8. I've lived my entire life loving and taking care of dogs and cats, and now that I'm home from school and in need of work on the side, I'd love to be there to take care of yours. I'm a recent college grad looking to hustle as I look for my first professional experience in my field, and get to know your pooch. I have experience with very young and senior dogs and cats, and I also have experience administering medications to them as aerosols, oral tablets, and injectables. If you need my services on a day that's not on my calendar, reach out to me and let me know- I may be able to figure out something that works for you! Currently I work soft hours during the day and overnights for part of the week. So, I will have plenty of time in the rest of the week to be by for your pooch. A typical drop-in will include playtime and attention in addition to satisfying needs, and a typical walk will be approximately one mile long, depending on the dog's size and physical ability.

I have a dog of my own named jax, he is 4 years old and I have been taking care of him since me and my family bought him home from the new jersey dog shelter.

About: I previously worked as a veterinary technician, which gave me hands on experience caring for animals of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I’m very comfortable handling both healthy pets and those that need extra attention or senior care. I’ve also had pets my entire life, so caring for animals is second nature to me. I’m patient, attentive, and able to quickly understand each pet’s unique needs, whether that’s exercise, medication support, or simply making them feel safe and comfortable. Pet care fits naturally into my routine since I have three cats and a pitbull at home. I’m flexible and already plan my days around feeding, cleaning, and care. I enjoy making time for walks, visits, and keeping pets comfortable and on schedule. In my home, I care for pets by maintaining a clean, safe, and calm environment, following feeding schedules, and giving consistent attention and affection. I have experience with cats and a pitbull, so I understand different temperaments and energy levels. In a client’s home, I respect their routines, follow all instructions closely, and make sure pets feel comfortable, secure, and cared for while their owners are away.

About: Since I was younger, I have always been around dogs and other pets. My parents are avid animal lovers and naturally it rubbed off on me! I have attended events to promote animal rights and care for each pup as if they are my own. I have been walking dogs for approximately 6 years. From Shih Tzus to Labrador retrievers, I have cared for dogs with sizes in between. I enjoy spending time and getting to know each pup. As dog owner of a nose driven beagle, I understand the love and energy needed to keep up with our four legged family members. I love taking my dog for walks all over Staten Island. I am currently working from home and would like to fill my time with kind, energetic and loving dogs! I am available to walk and check in on your dog and cats throughout the week and on weekends. Message me for availability. Thank you. As a dog owner, I am aware of people and other pets around me when going on walks. It is important to know and understand the temperament of your dog to ensure their safety. For drop in visits, having a beagle has prepared me to identify potential problematic situations. I normally do a visual scan of the area to make sure that pee pads are secured, doors are closed and food is put away.

My husband and I used Alexis for the second time. This time for 4 full days, with 3 drop ins each day. She took wonderful care of our 2 cats and one dog. She kept the litter box very clean and made sure our pets got their medicine. Alexis has such a caring personality and kindness to her that our pets love. We are very thankful for her help.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Staten Island stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Staten Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Staten Island with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Staten Island. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
