“Brittany was so wonderful with taking care of my cats while I was out of town! She spent plenty of time playing with them, cleaning the litter box, and encouraging my shy cat to come out for treats. She was very communicative and sent tons of photos and updates.”

“From my first meeting with Minnie, I could tell she was a kind pet loving individual. She was punctual, made sure my cats were well taken care of and respectful of my property. I would highly recommend Minnie and would definitely have her care for my pets in the future!”

“Ashley was amazing! She was prompt and punctual. Loved on our sweet baby boy as if it were her own. Took plenty of pics on every visit. Would definitely hire again! She's one of the best so hire her!”

About: Family would always host pets. I’ve had many pets growing up, including tortoises, birds, ferrets, etc! It’s important to me that they are treated with care and patience and I have the experience for that! I currently work an 8-5 so I am available after work. I am available on weekends! I’m pretty good at coordinating and working around my schedule to make sure I can do the job ! I personally like the companionship of animals. I think care, attention, and patience is vital to caring for any animal. I understand I am there to just care for the pet so I want to respect the homeowners privacy and make sure they feel comfortable working with me
“Isabela was a great cat sitter for our feline family. We had never tried a professional sitter before and were anxious about the experience especially the care of our cats. Isabela was very patient with us and our fur babies and made the visits as stressful as free as possible. We look forward to having her for our future trips and I’d bet our fur babies are excited to see her again as well.”

“She was so kind and I can tell my kitties loved her! They get wet food and a pill. I really appreciated that she washed their plates so when I came home everything was clean! I will definitely book with her again.”

About: Hi, I’m Dani! I know how hard it can be to leave your dog behind when you travel. My goal is to give your pup a happy, comfortable vacation of their own—and give you peace of mind while you enjoy yours! My home is a place for cuddles, playtime, cozy naps, and plenty of love. Whether your dog loves playing with their favorite toy, taking a sniff-filled walk, or simply relaxing nearby, I take time to learn what makes them feel at home. I welcome up to three guest dogs at a time, keeping stays small and personal. I’m also a veterinary technology graduate and work at an animal hospital very close to my home. My background includes boarding, kennel care, and grooming, along with experience caring for senior dogs and administering prescribed medications. That experience helps me pay attention to the little details that matter, from your dog’s appetite to their usual habits and comfort. As a dog mom to two Rottweilers, Koda and Nala, I understand that every dog has their own personality. Guests can have separate spaces from my dogs, and they are never left unsupervised together. You can look forward to photo updates and messages throughout your pup’s stay, so you can see their little vacation moments too! Above all, I want your dog to feel safe, welcome, and loved—and for you to feel comfortable coming back whenever you need care. I speak English and Spanish and would love to meet you and your pup! Pet care is part of my everyday life, both at home and through my work at a nearby animal hospital. On workdays, our time together includes morning care before I leave and walks, playtime, and relaxing together after I return. My days off allow more time for company and activities. Because I work outside the home, I’ll discuss my exact availability, any time your dog would spend alone, and their potty-break needs with you before confirming a stay. Boarding and daycare are offered only when my schedule is a good fit for your pup. Drop-off and pick-up times are arranged in advance so I can be ready to welcome you. I want your pup to feel like a welcome guest from the moment they arrive! I share my home with my two friendly Rottweilers, Koda and Nala, who love meeting other dogs and can be wonderful company for pups who enjoy making friends. I welcome up to three guest dogs at a time, keeping stays small and personal. Playtime and introductions are supervised, with attention to each dog’s comfort and play style. If you prefer your dog to have their own space away from my dogs, I’m happy to arrange that—just let me know before booking. We’ll go over your pup’s meals, sleeping preferences, medications, and favorite routines so I can help them feel at home. You’re welcome to bring their usual food, a favorite toy, or familiar bedding for extra comfort. I recommend a meet-and-greet before a first stay so you and your pup can meet us and get comfortable with the arrangements. Throughout their vacation, you can expect photos, updates, and caring communication!
“Julia took great care of our dog Vera. She was very conscientious and stopped by for a meet and greet. She was responsive to messages and very reliable. Thank you, Julia!”

“Couldn't be more delighted with Morgan! She's friendly, my animals adored her, and she's a total pro! The check-ins and the level of detail she provided left me feeling calm and secure that my little critters were in good hands.”

About: I grew up on a farm and have had all types of animals big and small! I get to know each animal and provide them with the care they need. I will care for them like my own. I am currently in Nursing school but can try to accommodate to take care of your pets! I am free most weekends. My weekdays are mostly free after 12 or 1. I am very attentive to each animal and can provide trusting care. I will make sure they get potty breaks, play time, and plenty of love.
“Ashley was terrific. She was prompt, professional and very loving towards our pup! He really enjoyed his time with her and we were happy he was well cared for during our absence. Highly recommend.”

About: I have lived with dogs my entire life and have also had experience raising puppies and kittens. I love cats just as much. I have an 8 year old dog named Percy, and 10 year old cat named Toulouse who love and play with another all day! I have experience with dogs ranging from different sizes and personalities, but no matter what I know each dog is special. I’ve treated all of the animals in my life like they’re family, and have built a loving relationship with each and would love the opportunity to get to know your animals as well. I understand how important it is to treat each animal with love and respect, and will do everything in my power to ensure the safety and happiness of your furry family member. I’m available most mornings and nights. I am also most afternoons depending on the week and the clients I have booked for my regular job. On Fridays and weekends I have the most flexibility! I treat each animal with the safety and care they deserve! I believe all animals are apart of the family and should always be treated as such.
“Sydney was great!! She showed up on time and was patient and caring toward my dog who often gets anxious around new people. She communicated with me throughout and let me know how he did on his walk with her. I’d absolutely book with her again!”

About: I have many years of experience caring for dogs through Rover, as well as for family and friends. I’ve cared for all kinds of pups from playful, energetic puppies to sweet senior dogs who need a little extra patience and attention. I treat every pet like they’re my own and make it a priority to keep them safe, comfortable, happy, and on their normal routine while you’re away. I know how important it is to feel confident that your pet is in good hands, and I’m happy to provide the love and care they deserve! 🐾🤍 Pet care fits easily into my schedule since I work for myself and set my own hours. I’m pretty flexible and always make time for the dogs I watch. Whether it’s walks or playtime, I can adjust my day to make sure each pup gets the attention they need. I make sure every pup feels safe and loved while in my care. I follow each owner’s routine feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions so they feel right at home. I give plenty of attention and snuggles, make sure they get gentle exercise, and keep their space comfortable and cozy. My goal is for every pup to feel happy, relaxed, and cared for while you’re away.
“Emily was just amazing! She really loves the dogs and treats them as her own. I love the pictures she sends daily and she even took the time to do a meet and greet and get to know us and the pups. Highly reccommend and will be using her again in the near future!”

About: No dog is too big or small for me to handle, I have had experience with dog sitting growing up with my aunt who is a pet sitter. I’ve helped take care of Great Danes, teacup chihuahuas, bearded dragons and even horses. I love dogs and their various different energy levels, from couch potato’s to rambunctious runners. I currently work a full-time job as an Environmental Data Analyst Monday through Friday. I usually get off work around 3:30 and live 10-15 minutes from my home. I am very flexible with my time after work, and can communicate well to coordinate pet care. And I am completely free during the weekend to coordinate pet care. As for my free time, I enjoy going to the beach with friends, my espresso machine and cuddling with my cats. I am very used to both big and small dogs, any type of cat, except exotics. I understand that sometimes animals can have accidents inside and have no problems cleaning. I am very watchful especially with pets who like to eat things they shouldn’t, and I am confident in my ability to understand animals body language, and being able to respond accordingly. I always want your pets to feel safe, loved and cared for and don’t want you to worry about your pet.

Ranice was very amazing, very attentive to my dogs and I don’t think they were in any better care than I would’ve had them. She has also kept us posted every single day showing up for the dogs and making sure everything was done in the correct way but also taking them for there walks. I love every service with Ranice and will make sure she comes back to attend to our dogs. Thank you guys for providing great dog walkers!

Kristen was so amazing with my babies! She was such a huge help to me on a busy work trip and so accommodating. She treated my pets as if they were her own, kept me updated and sent so many appreciated photos while I was missing them. I would definitely recommend and rebook!! Thank you Kristen

Rachel took care of my 14 year old lab the way she would her own. It’s hard to leave Bella in someone else’s care because of the extra challenges she brings at her age. Communication and updates are that much more important. Rachel did wonderfully! I highly recommend her, and feel at ease for future trips knowing Bella is in great hands! Thank you Rachel!
Kayla is awesome! I had to leave town and my cat suddenly developed some eye issues. She only has one eye and had health problems in the past which almost caused her to lose it. Seeing it flare up at the last minute made me super worried, and I just happened to find Kayla on rover. When I saw she had a veterinary experience, I messaged her very late that night to see if she could squeeze me in. She happened to be up, met me and my cat the next morning, and totally saved the day. She sent lots of pics & updates. Was timely, communicative and all around a pleasure to work with. It is very hard for me to trust strangers in my home as well as with my fur babies but she immediately put us at ease. Thank you!!

Samantha is wonderful! She’s incredibly thoughtful and thorough, and she truly goes above and beyond. She helped us feel safe about our cat being home alone, and she helped our cat feel loved while we were away. Thank you so much!!! Will 100% book again next time we need care.

I was nervous leaving Lucy alone, Shyanne was amazing and made me feel so much better. Shyanne provided me with detailed updates every drop in visit and followed all of the directions for her food, and Lucy looked so comfortable and happy in the photos. Shyanne will be the first person I contact next time I leave town. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
