“Martin took time to meet Axel and Finn to be certain that they and his other charges would get along. And, they did. Axel and Finn made themselves comfortable and at home, as we could see in the photos Martin so kindly texted during their stay. Axel and Finn are BIG boys - each over 90 pounds - and Martin handled them with aplomb. Hoping they'll have the pleasure of Martin's company again, and soon!”

About: I’ve had pets my entire life. When I turned 18 I adopted my Frodo, a fox hound who lived to be 19. I cared for him through his old age and had to carry him up & down the stairs for the last few years of his life as he had degenerative disk disease. I have foster dogs frequently and I will treat your baby as I would my own. We go regularly to the dog parks to socialize aside from playing in our own back yard. Your pet will be safe, happy and loved while you are away and you will be updated at least once every 4 hours with pictures. I am a teacher so I am free to be home with your pet all day long during the summer and school vacations. Aside from that I am free all weekends and evenings. During our time together your pup will have walks as often as you request, can run free in the yard, will be fed according to your schedule, can swim in the pool, and will be cuddled as much as your pup wants. For cats, I tailor my care to the individual cat based on your requests and your cat’s preferences. I live in a 4 bedroom house with a back yard that is fenced with a pool. Your baby can have the run of my house or can crate if that’s what you normally do. My goal is to keep your pets routine as normal as possible while you are gone so my care will be tailored to your requests. I am a teacher, so I am home all summer, school, vacations, and weekends. I am also home in the evenings. During the normal school year, I am gone for 8 hours out of the day. If the calendar says I am available then that means your pup will be the center of attention during that time. I have a fenced backyard where your pup can roam or a crate if that is what they prefer. They can have the run of my house or a sweet spot on the couch. Keeping your pets normal routine is key.
About: Your dog will be treated like family in my home. I provide a safe, loving, and attentive environment where your pup can feel comfortable, relaxed, and happy. I’ve had dogs my entire life and have years of hands on experience caring for them from playful puppies to more relaxed, older dogs. I truly enjoy spending time with dogs, whether that’s long walks, playtime, or just giving them lots of affection and attention. Your dog will never be left alone for long periods. They’ll get plenty of exercise, structured playtime, and supervision throughout the day. I also reinforce good behavior with positive encouragement (and treats, if approved!). My pup, Riley is very friendly, social, and used to being around other dogs. She loves having company and enjoy playing, running, and interacting in a safe and supervised way. I take pride in making sure every dog in my care feels comfortable, loved, and right at home. I’m happy to follow any specific routines, feeding schedules, or care instructions you provide. My schedule is very flexible, so I can easily accommodate feeding times, walks, play sessions, and any specific routines your dog is used to. Whether your dog needs frequent potty breaks, lots of exercise, or just companionship, I’m able to adjust to their needs. Your dog’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I provide a clean, secure, and loving environment where every dog is treated like family. In my home, I make sure all dogs are supervised at all times, with a safe space to relax and plenty of room for play. I introduce dogs to each other carefully and only allow interaction if they are comfortable and friendly. I follow each dog’s specific routine and care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walk times, and any special needs. I also keep a close eye on behavior to make sure your dog is happy, stress free, and safe. For walks, I use secure leashes and stay alert to the surroundings to ensure your dog is always protected. I never leave dogs unattended outside and always prioritize safe, controlled environments. If I’m caring for your dog in your home, I will respect your space, follow your instructions carefully, and keep your pet’s routine as normal as possible to reduce stress. Communication is very important to me, I’m happy to provide regular updates, photos, and videos so you can feel at ease while you’re away!
“Marissa was a fantastic sitter for our Frenchie, Luna. Marissa's prompt and relevant communications were especially appreciated (with plenty of pictures and key updates e.g., walks, pees). Luna has some anxiety at day cares / boarders with many other dogs, but pictures suggest that Luna absolutely loved the undivided attention and love from Marissa. Highly recommend and will absolutely book again!”

“This was the first time we used Rover for Zelda and we are super glad we chose Don to watch her. We told him that Zelda has a habit of taking things off of tables and counters and he “Zelda proofed” his house for us. She came home happy and safe, which is all we could wish for. We will be using Don again. Thanks Don!”

“She took really good care of radar and I appreciate her service. She was friendly, sent me a picture in the middle of the day and he seemed really happy when I arrived... But he's always happy when I arrive LOL. You can trust her”

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
