“Catherine was wonderful with Josie, she attended to every one of her needs and treated her like the true diva that she is! She gave her her drops, her eye drops three times a day on schedule, sent me pictures and videos. I was hoping Josie would a still wanna come home with me and not stay with Catherine.!!!Sue w.”

“Highly recommend Jack! This was my first time using Rover so I was a little nervous for what to expect but Jack was great, responded quickly, sent videos of Louie every day and just put my mind at ease. Louie seemed to love Jack’s big backyard and was tired from all the exercise and playing while I was away when I picked him up which is always a good sign. Will be using Jack again!”

“Arly is always great for our anxious little dog Hazy. She is reliable and flexible and we have used her services many times now. We’re so happy to have someone we can trust with our pup. Definitely recommend!”

“Rusa and her family were so wonderful to our doggy. Our dog has had anxiety with previous boarders but she became so comfortable with Rusa and her family very quickly. Rusa also gave daily updates with photos, even cleaned our doggy’s eyes, and put booties on her paws when it snowed to protect her from the salt in streets. She was very communicative and trustworthy. Highly recommend.”

“Ivelisse was a wonderful dog sitter, we are so grateful for her thoughtfulness and care of our pups 🐾🐾we got lots of pictures, videos of our pups in her yard from her ring camera, which was really nice. She is polite, caring, communicates well, asks questions, and clearly cares about the dogs she cares for. We will definitely use her again to take care of our dogs!”

“It was Shep & Sadie's 3rd stay with Elaine. They had fun socializing outside with other doggies. It was really nice to get photos of them playing in the yard. The doggies came home tired & happy! Thank you so much Elaine!”

“Valeria was an incredible host for Ziggy! She was super communicative and took great care of him - I’ve already got my next booking scheduled. The ONLY downside is I think he likes her more than me now.”

“Catarina was awesome! One minute after meeting her, we fully trusted her to care for our puppy. When we returned, our pup was super happy and tired… the perfect combo. We will definitely have Cat dogsit again!”

“I had my dog, Dodger stay at Lynn's house for one night recently, and I couldn't have been happier. I recently adopted a very friendly and sweet, but very nervous, scared mutt and was worried about leaving him with someone he didn't know. I had a meet and greet with Lynn prior to my night away, and her sweet dog, Doris, and immediately I knew Dodger would be fine. Doris is a great doggie host and Dodger immediately started playing with her. The night of his stay, I got a text from Lynn updating me that Dodger ate dinner and relieved himself - neither of which he does if he's even slightly nervous so I knew he was doing just fine. It was so nice not to worry about him. When I picked him up after his overnight, he was frolicking with Doris in Lynn's fenced in backyard and having a great time. I highly recommend Lynn. She's super friendly, flexible and laid back. Her pup, Doris is full of energy and nothing but fun for doggie guests. Lynn's son lives with her and is excellent with dogs as well. I will definitely book again!”
“Miki is amazing! She took care of my German Shepherd over the weekend and he had so much fun! She kept in contact and sent me pictures of them playing and on their runs. Awesome yard for the dogs to run and play together, I 100% recommend.”

“Chas is simply the best! He has been my dog walker for over a year now. He is extremely reliable, professional and provides great communication. He has also boarded Eli (my dog) while I’ve been away and taken wonderful care of him. I feel so comfortable knowing that Eli is staying with Chas. I’m so thankful for all he does for Eli and highly recommend him!”

“Dajah and family took good care of Mythri and kept me updated constantly, and also took care of giving her her medication, all during a rainy and stormy weekend. Thanks to them!”

“She was efficient and extremely nice and I can definitely tell Pepper had fun. Will definitely recommend her services again and will definitely be booking again. I’ve already told my friends who are pet owners”

“Kevin and Ana are wonderful! We had our dog, Buddy, stay with them for in home boarding and he had a fantastic time playing with their dogs. Kevin provided frequent updates with photos and videos. Our dog had a minor injury right before our trip and required daily medication and a little extra TLC. We were so grateful for the great care he received during his stay.”

Great overall experience! Thank you Jack for taking such wonderful care of our energetic baby Rex. Thank you also for the daily updates and videos, it was most comforting being so far away and being away from him for the first time. I would reach out again to Jack/Rover immediately if we are ever in need again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
