“Highly recommend Jack! This was my first time using Rover so I was a little nervous for what to expect but Jack was great, responded quickly, sent videos of Louie every day and just put my mind at ease. Louie seemed to love Jack’s big backyard and was tired from all the exercise and playing while I was away when I picked him up which is always a good sign. Will be using Jack again!”

“I am a repeat client of Oscar’s! Don’t have much words on how much of a great sitter he is. He took care of my kitten very well, very good with communication throughout my time. I’m glad I was able to find a good sitter like Oscar for my kitten very!!”

“Irene was awesome, very good vibes, a peaceful home setting & my Shih Tzu loved staying with her, playing in her big enclosed yard & going on walks with her, etc. while we were on our family cruise. My fur baby was in good hands with her & I'll definitely board her with Irene the next time we go away!”

“Angelimar is amazing! She watched our senior dog for over a week and was fantastic with her health needs, effortlessly managing a last-minute addition to her medication schedule. Our pup absolutely loved her stay and had the best time tagging along to work with Angelimar for extra companionship. Highly recommend!”

“Melissa is a thoughtful and caring dog-sitter. She told me she loves dogs and it show in all her actions when she dog sat my labradoodle. She read him very well and met his emotional needs.”

“THANK YOU WENDY!!!! For taking such good care of my Zoey. Wendy is an great dog sitter. She was so attentive to Zoe. I loved how she took Zoe on walks and sent me pictures and or videos. Zoe was happy every day that she was with Wendy😁 Again, I say thank you!!!”

“Valeria was an incredible host for Ziggy! She was super communicative and took great care of him - I’ve already got my next booking scheduled. The ONLY downside is I think he likes her more than me now.”

“Anna was great. She communicated every day letting me know how my dog was doing and shared photos. My dog stayed at Anna's for 7 days while we were on vacation. My 11 year old mini labradoodle has never stayed at a strangers house. He seemed very comfortable at her home, which was a relief! I will be using Anna again to take care of my dog.”

“Cat responded to the request very quickly and was very accessible and responsive during the stay. She took great care of Nash and went above and beyond what was asked of her. She is trustworthy, receptive, and kind.”

“"Catalina stepped in to pet sit Sparky on short notice, and I couldn't be more grateful. She was kind, attentive, and took great care of him. Sparky seemed happy and well-loved when I returned. Highly recommend Catalina for her reliability and genuine care for pets!"”

“I had my dog, Dodger stay at Lynn's house for one night recently, and I couldn't have been happier. I recently adopted a very friendly and sweet, but very nervous, scared mutt and was worried about leaving him with someone he didn't know. I had a meet and greet with Lynn prior to my night away, and her sweet dog, Doris, and immediately I knew Dodger would be fine. Doris is a great doggie host and Dodger immediately started playing with her. The night of his stay, I got a text from Lynn updating me that Dodger ate dinner and relieved himself - neither of which he does if he's even slightly nervous so I knew he was doing just fine. It was so nice not to worry about him. When I picked him up after his overnight, he was frolicking with Doris in Lynn's fenced in backyard and having a great time. I highly recommend Lynn. She's super friendly, flexible and laid back. Her pup, Doris is full of energy and nothing but fun for doggie guests. Lynn's son lives with her and is excellent with dogs as well. I will definitely book again!”

“We have a very energetic 6 month old puppy who had so much fun she was a lump on the couch for the next 24 hours! She had a great time playing and we got pictures and updates throughout the day”

Great overall experience! Thank you Jack for taking such wonderful care of our energetic baby Rex. Thank you also for the daily updates and videos, it was most comforting being so far away and being away from him for the first time. I would reach out again to Jack/Rover immediately if we are ever in need again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
