“Winston (my dog) had a wonderful stay with Richard. Given it's the first time that I used Rich (and Rover) for hosting Winston, I didn't know what to expect, however, I was very pleased with the care that Rich had given to Winston and the exceptional communication during the stay via the text/pictures that kept me posted at all time. Definitely coming back next time. Liwen”

“Charlotte was amazing and we will absolutely use her again! Our older boy had a bunch of different medicines to take at different points throughout the day and she was so organized and great with communication. She even went out to multiple stores to find the right low fat wet food he ran out of! Thank you Charlotte!”

“She was a great dog sitter, reliable, caring, and my dog loved her. I felt completely at ease knowing my pup was in good hands. she kept an open line of communication and sent pictures each day to keep me up dated”

“Our dog was in great hands with Anthony! She was able to play with another dog in his spacious backyard daily. We received video updates and communication was a breeze. Will be rebooking with Anthony in the future!”

“Rich took great care of our dog Luke for 10 days. He communicated with us daily and sent lots of pictures of him and his friends. Luke returned home very happy although I think he misses his new friends ?”

“Kevin and Ana are great! Our dog Buddy is a repeat boarder and he loves going to stay with them. They are always communicating updates and sending pictures and videos to keep us updated on his stay. Highly recommend.”

“Amazing experience! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ They took such great care of Zagu and made me feel completely at ease. Super caring, reliable, and attentive. I would absolutely book with them again!”

“Katie is very patient with my pup and understands her attachment to me. It takes Bella a while to settle and enjoy her self and Katie is perfect for this. She always ensured me its not a problem and she takes care of it. This is her 2nd time keeping Bella, thus time Katie was more forthcoming with updates then the first time, which I loved. But in her defense she also had a injured arm in a high anxiety pup. So I really understood it, did not let it bother me, because I know where her focus was.And I appreciated that, but when I did reach out to her, she immediately sent me a response back and updates. Bella loves walks and she was great at walking her a few times a day. I will be going away soon and hope Katie is available to keep her. Thank you Katie.”

“Liz was excellent from start to finish with our first boarding. She went above and beyond with providing updates and sending pictures. I couldn’t imagine a better first experience!”

“Jayme was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly flexible with our schedule and always responded quickly to our messages. We felt so at ease knowing Finnegan was in such good hands. It was clear that she genuinely cared for him and that he had a great time with her dogs. We highly recommend Jayme to anyone looking for a reliable and loving dog sitter!”

“Kayla is super nice as is her own dog, Cody. Our dog had a great time playing with Cody and Kayla took great care of her and checked in with us throughout her stay with updates and pictures. We'll be sure to book Kayla again!”

“Our Jack Russell, Darby, loves Melissa and her husband. She gets so excited when we drop her off. It's a vacation for her with play time and attention. Darby is a repeat pet stay on weekends and I have no worries leaving her because she is well cared for. Highly recommend Melissa!”

“Pam was great. She posted a lot of pictures to let us know Luna was having fun and communicated daily. You could tell she had a lot of experience with dogs and with petting sitting/boarding. We would definitely use Pam again for the next time we go out of town.”
“I had a great worry-free experience with Jack. He has a nice yard that is fenced in. My dog was not anxious staying with him and he usually gets stressed out easily. Jack let my dog sleep in the finished basement, which was very nice. I would recommend Jack.”

“Eva was the prefect match for my Teddy very warm and caring. Always sent videos with his tail wagging, which means he was happy and that what matters the most. Definitely would recommend Eva to friends and family, she's going to be my #1 for when I have to travel in the future 😁😁”

“Christopher was very accommodating and flexible. He went out of his way to pick up Cameo at a more ideal timing prior to my departure for my work trip. He sent daily updates and pictures of Cameo playing and answered any questions that I had. Cameo got lots of play time and came home happy and exhausted :)”

“Yi Jia was amazing with my dog. She sent daily updates with pictures. Miaomiao was so happy when I picked him up. She spent a lot of time playing with my dog and followed all our instructions to take good care of him. We highly recommend her and will definitely book again”

“Michelle was the ideal dog sitter Enthusiastic and loving. The yard and house were big enough for our dog to enjoy. Michelle also took her to the nearby dog park each day for a fun run”

Great overall experience! Thank you Jack for taking such wonderful care of our energetic baby Rex. Thank you also for the daily updates and videos, it was most comforting being so far away and being away from him for the first time. I would reach out again to Jack/Rover immediately if we are ever in need again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
