“Kiara was terrific with our dog. We were nervous leaving him for the first time but Kiara took excellent care of him, making sure he had food and water, taking him out, and playing with him each time she came over. We would highly recommend her and would definitely use her again!”

“We can't thank Gisselle enough! She saved us last minute when we needed a couple drop-in visits for bear. She was communicative, incredibly reliable, and gave our pup so much love and attention while I was gone. We are so grateful for her flexibility and care, and we will definitely be booking with her again!”

About: Iv always had a passion for animals and working with them since I was a kid growing up around them and I currently have a dog myself! I’m currently unemployed so I have plenty of time to work with your pets! I love going on walks especially with a furry pup! I currently have a 85+ pound dog myself I know how to handle big dogs and I love every size pup! I take good care of any animals even if there not mines I want what’s best for ur furry friend
About: I’ve had 11 dogs throughout my life, and I’ve been lucky enough to raise every one of them from just days or weeks old until they reached old age. I spoiled them endlessly, but I also made sure they were well-trained, social, and comfortable around other animals, dogs, babies, and people. Growing up, my family somehow became the family that animals could count on. I’ve lost count of how many animals we’ve rescued, fostered, nurtured, and helped find loving homes for. We’ve rescued everything from a bag of kittens my mom found in a dumpster at her job, to an abandoned iguana left at our house, to a one-eared dog who literally ran up to our car while we were stopped at a red light. I know it sounds like something out of a movie, but I promise it’s all true! 😂❤️ To me, dogs and pets aren’t simply animals—they’re part of us and part of our souls. They are family members who deserve patience, respect, love, attention, and proper care. They’re incredibly pure, innocent, intelligent, funny, and full of personality, and I genuinely love taking the time to understand what makes each animal special. 🐾❤️ I’m fortunate to be able to make my own hours and choose which days I work, which means I often have more days off than someone with a traditional schedule. If I have a pet-walking booking, I can easily adjust my work schedule around it by moving my workday to another day or starting earlier or later. This flexibility allows me to be reliable and available for pets while still maintaining my full-time career. I love that I can use my extra time to give pets the attention, exercise, fresh air, and companionship they deserve. I do travel occasionally, usually about once a month or every couple of months, but I always plan ahead and will let pet parents know in advance and block off any dates I’ll be out of town. I believe every pet and every breed is different, so I care for them based on their individual personality, needs, age, and health. When I had my English Bulldog, he preferred a slower, more laid-back lifestyle. Because of his build, exercise was important, but we kept our walks slow and comfortable, and he was usually very quick when it came to using the bathroom. I currently have a 9-month-old miniature Dachshund who is the complete opposite! He loves sniffing absolutely everything, so our walks tend to be much longer. I never rush him when he’s using the bathroom or exploring because I believe walks should be enjoyable, not something a dog has to hurry through. Because we live in Florida, I’m also very mindful of the heat and strong sun and bring an umbrella for extra shade when needed. He is definitely a very spoiled baby! 😂 He has beds and blankets throughout almost every room of the house, plenty of toys, and lots of space to safely roam and play. Because Dachshunds can be prone to spinal issues, I don’t let him use stairs and carry him up and down whenever needed. He gets monthly de-shedding and grooming, dental treats, coat oils, regular checkups, and of course, an unreasonable amount of hugs and cuddles. ❤️ Overall, I believe pets deserve individualized care, patience, comfort, enrichment, and lots of love. I try to care for every animal the same way I would want someone to care for my own spoiled baby.

I can walk them, make house calls, and attend to their needs at times that suit you, perfectly adapting to your dog or cat's daily routine. I maintain a completely clean, safe, and hazard-free environment both at home and during walks. I keep in constant communication by sending photos and updates to owners, I follow all instructions to the letter, and I never remove the leash while walking to ensure maximum safety.

“Jessica is a dynamo who speaks canine. She visited my home early to meet my pup and see our setup days in advance. Immediately, she bonded with my high-energy pooch. About: Hi! My name is Esmeralda, and I'm a lifelong dog lover with over 20 years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. From Chihuahuas and Golden Retrievers to Pit Bulls and everything in between, I've had the privilege of raising and caring for dogs throughout every stage of life. Every dog is different, and I love getting to know their unique personality and needs. Before joining Rover, I regularly provided dog sitting and drop-in visits for family members and members of my church community while living in Puerto Rico. Those and my personal experiences taught me the importance of being dependable, attentive, and treating every pet with the same love and respect I'd want for my own. What sets me apart is that I don't believe in "just watching" your pet—I focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you're away. I take the time to learn their routine, respect their personality, and give them the attention they deserve, whether that's playtime, cuddles, walks, or simply keeping them company. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else, and I take that responsibility seriously. As a dog mom myself, I understand the peace of mind that comes from knowing your furry family member is in caring hands. My goal is for both you and your pet to have a stress-free experience, with regular updates and plenty of love every step of the way. I can't wait to meet you and your best friend! Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I work a part-time remote job, which gives me the flexibility to provide reliable drop-in visits, walks, and plenty of one-on-one attention. As a dog owner myself, I'm already used to feeding, walking, playing, and making sure pets receive lots of love and care throughout the day. I treat every pet as if they were my own and make it a priority to keep them happy, comfortable, and on their normal routine. •Daily Pet Care Schedule 8:00 AM – Morning Routine Morning potty break/walk Fresh water refill Breakfast feeding Morning playtime and attention 12:00 PM – Midday Check-In Potty break Short walk or play session Fresh water check Extra attention and companionship 4:00 PM – Afternoon Activity Walk or outdoor time Playtime and enrichment activities Check on comfort and needs 6:00 PM – Dinner Time Evening meal Fresh water refill Relaxation and affection 8:00–9:00 PM – Evening Routine Final potty break/walk Calm playtime or cuddles Ensure pets are comfortable before bedtime I understand every pet has their own routine, so I’m always happy to adjust feeding, walking, and care schedules based on each owner’s instructions and their pet’s individual needs. In my client's home, I focus on creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment. I follow each pet’s normal routine, including their feeding schedule, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and any special instructions from their owner. In a client’s home, I respect their space and make sure their pet feels comfortable staying in their familiar environment. I provide plenty of attention, affection, and companionship while keeping owners updated,whether thats through videos or pictures, so they have peace of mind and show how their pets well being. Every pet is treated like family and cared for with the same love and patience I give my own. House Sitting 🐾 ***Please note that my dog, Frida, will accompany me during house-sitting stays. Because she is part of my daily routine, she will be with me throughout the stay. By booking house sitting with me, you acknowledge and agree to Frida being present in your home. I’m an English adjunct instructor who balances time between work and home, which allows me to provide structured, attentive care for pets in a calm and safe environment. When your pet is with me, their comfort, safety, and routine are my top priorities. My home is well-suited for dogs and designed with safety in mind: • Fully fenced-in yard for secure outdoor play • Doggie door for easy potty breaks • Pool (always monitored with safety as the priority) • Cameras in common areas for added peace of mind I carefully plan my schedule so pets are never left for long periods, and I make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and rest while I’m home. You can expect regular updates and photos, clear communication, and care that treats your pet like part of the family. If you’re looking for a safe, reliable, and caring home where your dog will be loved and well-looked-after, I’d be happy to chat and set up a meet-and-greet! I currently teach college classes, so I’m free in the afternoons from 2 PM or on Fridays and the weekends at any time! I love going for fun walks with my fur baby, so I’ll treat yours just the same! My first priority when walking a pet is ensuring that they are safe. I let them explore and have a few toys that they can play with as well! We have a doggy door, so once they are comfortable with using it, they can explore the backyard at any time. We have a camera in the backyard to ensure safety, but they will usually be supervised by me if it’s during the day.

Kiara is absolutely fantastic with our dog, Cotton, and he absolutely LOVES her! ❤️ From the moment she spends time with him, it’s clear how much love, care, and attention she gives him. Knowing that Cotton is happy, comfortable, and in such wonderful hands gives us complete peace of mind. We couldn’t ask for a better person to care for our precious boy. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
