“Ambar was FANTASTIC with Mist (my 66lb greased lightning, teething, reactive escape artist). My dog is a high drive handful & a half, but Ambar took excellent care of her & kept her away from the triggers to her berzerker mode. She also let Mist have high octane zoomies to her heart's content in a securely fenced backyard. I got LOTS of happy pup pics & was able to actually relax on vacation. Highly recommend! 😍”

“This was the second time Dante and Amora stayed with Marti, and once again she was wonderful. It’s clear how much they enjoy being with her, which gives me total peace of mind while I’m away. She kept me well informed about their days throughout my trip, and her care and attention really show. Highly recommended — we can’t wait for many more stays with Marti! 🐾”

“Hi, I am so appreciative that she was able to help me in a complicated bind. We were having work done on our house and needed someone to watch our cat, but our cat is not a very social kitten and she discriminates against certain care takers it seems, lol. Long story short she was hissing at the first caretaker we left her with, and she didn’t feel comfortable watching her as she didn’t have the extra space to just leave her to herself to acclimate to the new environment, but Mayara was able to quickly assist me at the last minute and she kept my kitten for as long as I needed. I’m so thankful.”

About: I’ve had 11 dogs throughout my life, and I’ve been lucky enough to raise every one of them from just days or weeks old until they reached old age. I spoiled them endlessly, but I also made sure they were well-trained, social, and comfortable around other animals, dogs, babies, and people. Growing up, my family somehow became the family that animals could count on. I’ve lost count of how many animals we’ve rescued, fostered, nurtured, and helped find loving homes for. We’ve rescued everything from a bag of kittens my mom found in a dumpster at her job, to an abandoned iguana left at our house, to a one-eared dog who literally ran up to our car while we were stopped at a red light. I know it sounds like something out of a movie, but I promise it’s all true! 😂❤️ To me, dogs and pets aren’t simply animals—they’re part of us and part of our souls. They are family members who deserve patience, respect, love, attention, and proper care. They’re incredibly pure, innocent, intelligent, funny, and full of personality, and I genuinely love taking the time to understand what makes each animal special. 🐾❤️ I’m fortunate to be able to make my own hours and choose which days I work, which means I often have more days off than someone with a traditional schedule. If I have a pet-walking booking, I can easily adjust my work schedule around it by moving my workday to another day or starting earlier or later. This flexibility allows me to be reliable and available for pets while still maintaining my full-time career. I love that I can use my extra time to give pets the attention, exercise, fresh air, and companionship they deserve. I do travel occasionally, usually about once a month or every couple of months, but I always plan ahead and will let pet parents know in advance and block off any dates I’ll be out of town. I believe every pet and every breed is different, so I care for them based on their individual personality, needs, age, and health. When I had my English Bulldog, he preferred a slower, more laid-back lifestyle. Because of his build, exercise was important, but we kept our walks slow and comfortable, and he was usually very quick when it came to using the bathroom. I currently have a 9-month-old miniature Dachshund who is the complete opposite! He loves sniffing absolutely everything, so our walks tend to be much longer. I never rush him when he’s using the bathroom or exploring because I believe walks should be enjoyable, not something a dog has to hurry through. Because we live in Florida, I’m also very mindful of the heat and strong sun and bring an umbrella for extra shade when needed. He is definitely a very spoiled baby! 😂 He has beds and blankets throughout almost every room of the house, plenty of toys, and lots of space to safely roam and play. Because Dachshunds can be prone to spinal issues, I don’t let him use stairs and carry him up and down whenever needed. He gets monthly de-shedding and grooming, dental treats, coat oils, regular checkups, and of course, an unreasonable amount of hugs and cuddles. ❤️ Overall, I believe pets deserve individualized care, patience, comfort, enrichment, and lots of love. I try to care for every animal the same way I would want someone to care for my own spoiled baby.
“Johanna and her family treated our dog Dakota greatly! They sent regular photo updates and were flexible with her pickup time when we encountered some traffic on the way home. Thanks for everything!”

“Alanis was absolutely wonderful with Coco! She sent great updates, answered all of our questions quickly and was just incredibly kind to him. It was a real pleasure meeting her, and we’re so grateful to her for taking such good care of our boy. We'd recommend her to anyone! She will take good care of your pet!”

About: Dogs have always been a special part of my life. I grew up with dogs and have continued to have my own throughout adulthood, so caring for them comes naturally to me. I also regularly dog sit for friends and family and truly enjoy making every pup feel safe, comfortable, loved, and right at home. 🐾❤️ I’m retired and have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to give your pup plenty of time, attention, and care throughout the day. While caring for your fur baby will be available to provide companionship, potty breaks, playtime, and lots of love. 🐾❤️ I’m a dog lover and proud dog mom to two sweet pups—Rocky, my 5-lb Yorkie, and Betty, my 9-lb Cockapoo. They’re both part of the family, so I understand how important it is to I offer a loving, comfortable, and safe home where your pup will be treated like one of my own. I have a fully fenced backyard where dogs can safely enjoy outdoor time, play, and get plenty of fresh air. Because I have two small dogs myself, my home is especially comfortable for small dogs who enjoy having furry friends around. I’ll make sure your pup receives plenty of attention, affection, playtime, and cuddles while in my care. My goal is for you to feel completely comfortable knowing your fur baby is in a safe and caring home. 🐶❤️
“I had a wonderful experience. They took such great care of my dog all weekend. Kind, reliable, and really made my pup feel right at home. I came back to a happy, relaxed dog—and that means everything. I’ll definitely be booking with her again.””

“This was our first time leaving our very high energy dog with someone besides family and Carly was absolutely amazing! Her communication and level of care made us feel so comfortable while we were away. Our dog Rudy was worn out when we got back home and I know he is going to be so excited to go back! I would highly recommend Carly to care for pup, she’s the best!”

“Estephanie is truly amazing! She provided exceptional care for my beloved pup, Benson. Her frequent communication put my mind at ease, knowing that he was in a home away from home. I couldn't have asked for a better pet-sitting/ boarding experience, and I wholeheartedly recommend her services to anyone seeking top-notch care for their furry family members.”

“This was our 1st time leaving Dodger with anyone other than family and our 1st time booking thru Rover. Our Dodger has some issues with trust/anxiety of strangers so I wasn't sure if this was going to work or not, but when I messaged Ginni and Tom and explained the concern they were more than willing to give it a try. Ginni reassured us that they have taken care of other dogs with the same issues and so we set up a meet and greet a couple days before the actual booking date. From the 1st moment we met Ginni and Tom I had a good feeling about them and their house and yard. They were so welcoming and made Dodger feel so relaxed. He played in their fenced in backyard for a bit then went inside the house where we visited in the living room. Dodger even snuggled up to Ginni while we chatted. We booked for 3 nights and they were so accommodating to our (somewhat picky) miniature schnauzer. I received photos and updates once a day and that really put my mind at ease. I would highly recommend Ginni and Tom and we will be booking again with them.”

“Kimberly was able to watch my dog last minute and really saved me from missing my sisters graduation. She sent me pictures daily with updates and even gave me grace when my travel plans totally went to trash. She was awesome and i will ne using her again as I am a frequent traveler ❤️❤️❤️”

“I have used Mervat several times and Piper is happy to see her every time. She takes greAt care of my girl and is very thorough with instructions. If I forget something in her bag she asks about it. I love that she only takes care of one family at a time. Highly recommend Mervat!”

About: My connection with animals has been a constant throughout my life, but a true calling became clear through my journey with my current dog .. Theo .. 🐶 since getting him in 2021, Theo has faced a series of health challenges, including neurological symptoms and an 8 week period of strict, stay at home crate rest after an IVDD diagnosis .. caring for him through these health issues, along with my past experience with pet loss, reshaped my priorities. I realized that to heal and thrive, I need to spend as much time around dogs as humanly possible. With 20+ years as a professional in food & beverage, management, corporate recruiting, and HR, I bring high levels of responsibility, communication, and detail oriented care to every pet I look after. I understand deep down how precious our pets are and how important it is to find someone you trust completely. I promise to provide the same devoted love & care I share with my own family. ✨🐾 my schedule is completely flexible right now with open availability for drop ins and walks seven days a week, day or night. ✨☀️🌘✨ I am able to give your dog my full, undivided attention and stick strictly to the visit times that work best for your schedule. 🐾 I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else, and I treat that responsibility with genuine care. I cater directly to your pup's unique needs, whether that means following a strict routine, giving medication, or just taking things slow with a sensitive dog. 🩵 For safety, I focus on dogs under 40 lbs. while I’ve handled 70 to 90 lb dogs in the past, staying under 40 lbs fits my size best and ensures maximum control on walks. 🦮 I respect your home, strictly follow your instructions, and send quick photo 📸 updates so you always have total peace of mind. 🐾
“Leo and Sarahi were absolutely fantastic! They took great care of our dog and kept us updated every day with photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. Highly recommend!”

“They took such good care of my Marley! Sent pics everyday and he looked very happy! Highly recommend them for golden retrievers or smaller dogs which they have of their own.”

Viviana and her family were so kind and welcoming! From the very beginning, I felt completely comfortable and confident leaving my dogs with them. I was able to enjoy my stay in Orlando knowing that my pups were in good hands and well cared for. Thank you so much, Viviana! I highly recommend you 100%! ❤️

Our eleven year old terrier/shih-tzu mix had not been boarded since she was a year old, having stayed with family or friends during our past trips. Marti was a life saver and played a huge part in our ability to relax on our vacation. Ms. Marti is on the ball with communication. When we checked in on Izzie to see how they were doing, she responded immediately and often provided pictures. After two days, Izzie was giving nose kisses to Marti and by day 3 slept next to Marti on the sofa. Marti is so warm and personable, and she communicated ahead of time the plans she had in advance, letting us know when she'd be out and where Izzie would be- which of course was absolutely fine. The majority of the time she was at home. She kept us abreast of when they walked and how Izzie was doing overall, as well as her food intake and "peas and carrots." She understands dogs and has lots of experience, providing a warm and safe home away from home for your fur baby. We will book again if we are ever in the central Florida area for vacation. Thank you, Marti!!!

I had such a great experience with Natalia! She went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable while I was away. Every day, she sent me updates along with pictures and videos, which really reassured me that Coco was happy and well cared for. She always kept me informed about how Coco was doing, and it was clear that she genuinely cared. One of the things I loved most was her fenced backyard—it gave Coco plenty of space to run around, play, and enjoy being outside safely. I truly appreciate the attention, communication, and care she provided. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and loving dog sitter!

Chelsea is absolutely wonderful with my Leo — all the time. From the very beginning, she has been patient, attentive, and genuinely caring. Leo is always excited to see her, which speaks volumes about the trust and bond she has built with him. She communicates clearly, follows instructions carefully, and always ensures he is safe, happy, and well cared for. I am a repeat customer and will continue using Chelsea’s services with complete confidence. I truly have peace of mind knowing my dog is in her care, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Southchase home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Southchase.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Southchase sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
