“James and Gabriela are the type of people in the type of environment you want your dog to stay with. They are thoughtful, caring, knowledgeable as dog owners themselves and responsible. We received updates and appropriate questions, with the lightest of touch throughout the weekend, and they have a wonderful backyard where our city dog loved to hang out and play. James and Gabriela provide a setting that feels easy and happy but also secure and hands on. They spent time with our Rosie and got to know her. This meant so much to us and when we picked Rosie up it was evident Rosie had a happy, healthy and fun visit. HIGHLY recommend. We will definitely choose James and Gabriela again!!”

“I am one of those overindulgent pet owners. I usually only leave My King Charles cavalier, Fynn, with family or dear friends. A last minute opportunity over Easter weekend found me scrambling for dog care. An acquaintance mentioned Rover.com, a site and service I was unfamiliar with. After searching the site and reading the reviews I had four options close to my home. I call it a gut feeling because I was drawn to Melissa in spite of the fact she had no reviews posted. Melissa responded quickly . She explained she had two small dogs and would like to introduce the dogs first to see if this would work. It was as if she read my mind… Melissa was available later that day and we agreed to take the dogs to the park. Meeting in person, letting the dogs get to know each other immediately put my mind at ease . When I brought Fynn to Melissa to watch for the weekend, she introduced me to her family, her home and where the dogs would play. Once on the road Melissa continued to put me at ease by sending pictures and updates as to how the dogs were faring. Fynn came home happy, well cared for and missing his new buddies. Melissa is an interactive caretaker, extremely trustworthy, and provides a happy fun environment for the visiting dog guest!!”

About: I have taken care of animals since I was 14. I have volunteered at many rescues and have my own. I have experience with dogs, cats, small pets, reptiles and fish. I have previously owned all of the above. I specialize is training behavioral dogs and special needs pups. I am currently working on call jobs, once you have scheduled with me we can go over our weekly life and see what works best! Their will always be someone at the house with your pup. I make sure the area is safe for them before I leave and everyone is crated. Make sure they have water and any other necessities (toys if allowed in crate, blankets, etc) If it’s a puppy I make sure there’s something for them to play/work on so they could see being left alone is a positive experience. (Frozen Kongs, puzzles, etc. if allowed)
