“Had Cheyenne house sit our 80lb pittie for about a week while we were out of town and can’t recommend her enough! He can be a bit hesitant at first, and he warmed up quickly to her. Also she constantly sent photo updates- and we absolutely loved and appreciated seeing a new enrichment toy being used in almost each pic.”

“Sara was fantastic! She kept in touch with me throughout my trip and sent pictures. She did everything I asked her to do. She is very friendly, a very sweet, respectful young lady. I highly recommend her to everyone!”

About: I’ve had many pets since the age of 6 years old and I’ve always had an absolute love for any and all animals out there. I’m currently a college student with a very flexible schedule for every one needed. I’m available on weekdays (Mon-Thurs) from 12pm and weekends (Fri-Sun) after 5:30pm. I have many experiences with caring for other owners’ fur babies in their home and I’m as respectful as I can be in their houses. I can send many pictures if the client needs them in order to be comfortable.
“Thank you for caring for Baby. It gave me such a peace of mind while I was away. Thank you so much for the toy for baby, that was such a kind gesture! Would hire again”

“Tori was amazing with my high-energy dog! She spent a ton of time with my dog and took her to the dog park many times to burn her energy which my dog loved. She was also very thoughtful and sent lots of pictures and videos while we were away for 2 weeks and was very responsive the whole time. She was very accommodating and I would highly recommend her! Will definitely be using her again in the future.”

About: I have over five years of pet sitting experience and began caring for pets back in high school, where I built a pet sitting business of my own. Through that experience, I learned how important reliability, communication, patience, and personalized care are for both pets and their owners. I’m comfortable with dogs, cats, multiple-pet households, walks, feeding routines, playtime, and providing companionship. I also have many past clients in Florida who would gladly speak highly of my care and professionalism. As a pet owner myself with two dogs and one cat, I understand that pets are family and deserve genuine love and attention. I will be relocating to Homewood in mid-May and will have a very flexible summer schedule while taking online classes. This allows me to be available throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, pet sitting, and last-minute needs. Because I travel by bike or electric scooter, I’m focusing on nearby clients so I can provide dependable, punctual care and consistent availability. Safety and trust are always my top priorities when caring for pets. In a client’s home, I carefully follow feeding schedules, walking routines, medication instructions, and household preferences to keep pets comfortable in their familiar environment. I make sure doors, gates, leashes, and surroundings are secure at all times. I provide gentle attention, exercise, companionship, and updates so owners feel confident knowing their pets are in caring and reliable hands.
About: I was born and raised with Dobermans by my side, but my expertise does not just span large dogs--but also small dogs, puppies, seniors, cats, and other furry friends. I’ve been a reliable pet sitter, taking care of my friend’s and family’s cats and dogs. I’ve ensured they’re well-fed, entertained, and they have taken care of business 💩. I’ve stayed at homes and made drop-in visits, so I can provide flexible care. I understand that your pets are like family members, so I’ll treat them with the same patience and respect they deserve! I am currently working part time at an office and applying for other jobs. I have a lot of extra time on my hands and I am looking to fill it by spending time with animals and getting my steps in! I am open for last minute bookings!!! I prioritize your pet’s comfort by following your specific care routine. My process begins by gaining your pet's trust through a calm, patient approach, ensuring they feel safe before we dive into anything. I like to keep the line of communication open with the pet parent to ensure transparency throughout the whole process. I maintain a consistent schedule for feeding, potty breaks, and affection to minimize any anxiety they may face without their typical routine away from parents.
“This was our first time using Rover for house sitting and it was worth it! Taryn is so sweet, she kept us updated on our pets and sent us plenty of pictures. We had a meet and greet prior to booking but of course my pets loved her! I knew my babies were in the best hands and look forward to booking with Taryn again! ?”

About: I was always had furry siblings but have graduated to a cat mama. I enjoy creating personal heavens for our companions. Reliable, punctual and kind. I have a full-time job that pays the bills but I am looking for ways to feed my soul. Overnights are great as well as drop ins. I would prefer to host at client's homes as my current home does not allow dogs. Willing to board or take cats overnight. Let's make it a sleepover!
“We truly appreciate David’s care of our pup and home while we were away. He followed instructions to a T and was proactive with communication. We loved the routine updates and pictures, especially seeing that Bailey was getting his walks when weather allowed.”

“Tabbie M. was on time, communicative, and professional. She worked well with sweety and sent emails, and pictures to update me. Tabbie M. is very nice and kind as well. I will definitely book her again.”

“Juliana was awesome taking care of our Greyhound. She constantly kept us up to date for our entire trip. The best part when we returned home, our house was totally clean. I will definitely book with her again. Five star rating, for sure!!”

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was 9 years old. I have walked them, bathed them, cuddles , massages, gave medications you name it. I absolutely love the feeling and genuine love that dogs give so I protect and love them at all cost! A stay home wife with no children home currently, so I’m free a lot! Needing a new hobby I enjoy to consume my days now. I have small babies so the house is already baby proofed! Also can purchase whatever is needed to make them feel comfortable! Not big on dogs being in crates and cages but if that’s what your prefer that can be arranged as well! Long as the dog is comfortable I am happy!
“Samantha was amazing! She took such great care of all our pets. Our dog was so relaxed when we got home. This was also a last minute booking since our sitter bailed on us and she really saved the day. She sent lots of updates and pics too so we could see all our babies being well care for. We’ll absolutely use her service in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - South Holland
Kieanji was great dogsitting for my little rescue dog, Fufu! I had a work trip and we were able to plan far in advance for her to meet Fufu and a separate meet up for her to see my place. She asked many good questions about Fufu's routine to make sure Fufu and I were comfortable. The day of travel she arrived right on time. She communicated consistently and sent pictures daily. I really appreciated her easy going nature too, helps a lot with an anxious dog :). This was my first time using Rover or a dog sitter and I'd choose Kieanji again and again!

Perniall did great with our girls. It took no time at all for him to befriend our chronically suspicious chihuahua. He was diligent and really paid attention to our pups, getting to know their quirks - it was clear he was truly present with them and not just running through a checklist. He gave us helpful feedback, aiding in elucidating some blind spots we've had as parents. Specifically, he gave us some suggestions to get our big girl to slow down while eating to improve her postprandial comfort. He was in regular contact during our absence, giving us space but always ready to attend to our anxious requests for photos and updates. The dishes are all done and the place looks maybe better than we left it. Thank you, Perniall! I would recommend him to anyone looking for good hands to trust their beloved babies with.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 7,246 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across South Holland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred South Holland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in South Holland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Holland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
