About: I am a veterinary assistant and have worked and surrounded myself with animals my whole life. I’ve volunteered at animal shelters, worked with vets, and was a dog handler and a doggie daycare over the past few summer years. I have experience with cat, dogs, fish, rodents, reptiles, and more. I love hiking and spending time outside as well, so hikes with dogs are more than welcome! I recently moved to Boise and am excited to get to know the area, so taking your dog on walks is the perfect excuse for me to explore ;) I work Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm so i before and after my shift I can take care of your furry, scaly or slimy friends! I also don’t work weekends at all so my availability is wide open! When working with animals in their own homes, I think it’s important to understand you’re coming into their space and to work slowly to earn their trust! I have worked with many different animals and know how to read body language, so if your pet is uncomfortable I know how to work with them and listen to their needs.

About: I have mostly taken care of dogs, cats and chickens. When I had my own dogs, I didn’t realize that house and pet sitting was even an option. I would drive them about an hour to a wonderful woman who had converted her former horse property into a place where dogs could run and get plenty of exercise in the horse rink. It was a much better alternative than a traditional kennel but was disruptive to their normal routine and caused anxiety. One trip especially stands out. A snowstorm came through while I was away, and because the property was located at the top of a hill, we couldn’t get to the dogs for three additional days. They were safe and well cared for, but the experience made me realize how much I would have preferred for them to be comfortable in their own home, surrounded by familiar sights, smells, and routines. I’m a retired professional now self-employed who is looking for opportunities to combine house and pet sitting with exploring Ada County, Idaho and Clackamas County Oregon. I’m currently pet-free, but I’ve had three dogs, three cats and many chickens over the years, so I understand the companionship pets provide and the importance of keeping them comfortable, safe, and on their normal routine. I’m comfortable with both dogs, cats and chickens and would treat your pets calmly and with kindness. As a homeowner myself, I understand that your home is your biggest investment and your personal space. I’m observant and pay attention. If I hear water running unexpectedly, notice something unusual, or see something that doesn’t seem right, I’m the type of person who investigates rather than ignoring it. I’m conscientious about keeping a home secure, clean, and well cared for. I enjoy a peaceful home environment and would be happy spending time with your pets, taking dogs for walks, watering plants, collecting mail, bringing in packages, and generally keeping an eye on things while you’re away.
