“Heather is an excellent pet sitter! Our little senior dog, Miki, stayed with her for a week while we were on vacation. Heather responded to all messages very promptly and is a great communicator. She followed all instructions to the letter and kept us updated on how our little boy was doing. At one point, Miki seemed to be feeling under the weather. Heather calmly shared her concerns and we were able to talk through a solution together. When we picked Miki up, he was happy and comfortable in Heather’s home. I would recommend Heather without hesitation!”

“Tiffany was wonderful to my dog Tucker. He really appeared to enjoy his stay with her and her dog Penny. Tiffany's response time was so quick and the daily updates / pictures were wonderful. I really felt Tucker was in good hands. Thank you!”

“Andrew and Jacklynn are amazing dog sitters. They watched our Stella for a second time over the Thanksgiving holiday for 4 nights/5 days. When I dropped her off outside their home, she immediately ran up to them tail wagging, excited to be seeing them again. She was also excited to have a dog pal in Rocky. When she is there, I can tell she is treated like family from the photos. Fantastic communication throughout and Stella came home happy. They also did a great job with her medicine. Thank you Andrew and Jacklynn for the tremendous care.”

“We have used Tom several times and will be using him again in the near future. Sadie seems to enjoy her stay with Tom and his family and they seem to enjoy hosting her. On a few occasions our plans changed, and Tom was flexible in accommodating those changes. We heartily recommend him for the care of your four-legged family member.”

“Kristin was wonderful! Our dog is a rescue and can be very nervous around new people. Kristin and her pets made Bagheera comfortable right away and I came back to a very happy, worn out doggy. Kristin also kept in touch during our trip and sent us many pictures, videos, and updates. She was also very flexible with our trip schedule and extremely friendly all around! I highly recommend Kristin!”

“Marla did a wonderful job watching our dog, Molly. She set us pictures every day and keep us updated. I think Molly had a good time with Marla and her family. I highly recommend Marla. This was the 2nd time she watched Molly.”

My grandfather had some Dobermans when I was little and I’ve been around great Danes as well.. I have walked three huskies with my son who has high functioning autism, and is my helper with a lot of my jobs we do it together. We’d love to take care and love animals I am highly focused on creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment. When I watch pets, we typically spend our time doing activities,, outdoor play. I have a flexible schedule, and I’m willing to work around mine and your schedules I will work during the week and weekends as well I would take very good care of your pet inside your home and if you have a list and concerns for your pet, I will be able to willing to work on that for your pet.. Inside my home would be the same way and have a comfortable playtime with my family
“Kathleen watched my dog again for a 3-night stay, and just like last time, she was incredibly patient and attentive. My dog was very nervous and had a few accidents, along with some vomiting, but she handled everything with so much care and compassion. She stayed in constant communication with me—sending updates, letting me know what was happening, and explaining step-by-step what she was doing to help him feel comfortable and calm. Knowing she was on top of everything allowed me to enjoy my vacation without worrying. Kathleen truly goes above and beyond, especially with dogs who are anxious or sensitive. I’m so grateful for how she cared for him and kept me reassured throughout the stay. I absolutely recommend her, and I appreciate her more than she knows!”

“Andrew was wonderful from start to finish. He was easy to communicate with, very responsive, and flexible- we had to adjust our days after booking due to an unexpected funeral and he made the changes quickly. Our dog got really great care with frequent updates and pics and it was very clear Andrew really enjoys taking care of animals! Would highly recommend. Thank you!!”

“Alec and Stephanie have watched my big, energetic German shepherd/ Belgian malinois cross a couple of times now. My dog seems to really like staying with Alec and Stephanie (and Fenton the cat!), and I appreciate the pictures and updates they send.”

“I recently had the pleasure of leaving my dog, Finn, in Chonlada's care, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! From the moment we dropped him off, it was clear that Chonlada treats her furry guests as if they were her own. Finn had a fantastic time running around and exploring the spacious outdoor area. Chonlada kept us updated throughout the weekend, sharing photos and messages that really put our minds at ease. It was incredibly reassuring to know Finn was having such a great time. We will definitely be using her services again in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Eunmi is an amazing sitter. I’m so happy I found her. My puppy loves going to her house and he looks so happy being with her in all the pics she sends me. Eunmi is a gem and will take excellent care of your dog. Highly recommended!”

“Kim was fantastic! So good about sending pictures and videos. Took my dog on sooo many walks and always ensured he was having a good time playing. 100% recommend her!!”

“Amanda was awesome while we were on vacation. She sent us daily pictures and updates. Her house has a huge fenced in backyard and our pups loved it. They came home happy and exhausted. She was also so accommodating with our drop off and pick up schedule. I highly recommend her. We will definitely take our boys back!”

“Theresa took great care of Ollie while I was away for 9 days out of the country traveling. Seeing the pictures and videos Theresa sent over daily, I know Ollie is having a great time. Thank you again Theresa!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
