“Kathryn goes above and beyond to make sure my elderly kitty is well taken care of and always gets her to take her medications and eat. I really appreciate her caring nature, as does my cat.”

“Audrey was great about sending updates and photos of our senior cat. She was very conscientious about administering transdermal medication and following his routine. She even got past his wariness by the final night of her 4-night stay in our home and had some lap time with him. I'm sure that made both Audrey and our cat happy. We hope she will be available the next time we need someone to care for our little guy.”

“Sienna was beyond wonderful. She took care of my sweet elderly cat for two weeks when I had to go out of town. Before I left, she came over to the house to get to know me and my cat; while I was gone, I got updates and pictures with every visit, and I knew Cat was in the best hands possible. I didn't worry for a second with Sienna taking care of her, and that was such a huge relief. If you need someone who truly takes their time to get to know you and your pets, look no further. She is absolutely the best pet sitter I've ever had.”

“She went above and beyond to help out with not only my animals but my garden too! Her communication was excellent and she was kind and genuine. So grateful I found a great sitter!”

“Thank you for everything Jasmin. You are so reliable and a great sitter. Thank you for taking great care of my fur babies. I will definitely rebook for my next service. Appreciate you a lot!”

About: Hello! I have had cats all my life and absolutely love them. In my younger days, I volunteered at Noah and the humane society. I currently have 2 cats of my own. They are both seniors and one is diabetic, getting insulin shots twice a day. Additionally, we have chickens and horses. We love our animals! I would love to pet sit for you! I’m super flexible and reliable. Cheers! I am a mom to a teenager, 2 cats, 5 chickens, and my daughter has horses. We are a animal loving family!! I work mostly from home, so I have flexibility to do drop in visits throughout the day. I love animals and thought this would be a great way to meet some new furry friends! I am flexible to your pets needs. I am happy to feed, play with, clean litter box, and give lots of pets! Just let me know what is wanted and I will do it!

“Wow! Mike and Sharon exceeded our expectations. They welcomed our cat Lucy very warmly and sent us pictures of her antics throughout her stay. I would have no reservations what-so-ever to ask Sharon and Mike to watch Lucy another time. Highly recommend them to anyone who may be looking for a temporary sitter for their pet.”

About: I have a dog and a cat back home that I help take care of. When I’m home, I take my dog out for walks everyday. I have dog sit for my neighbors dog a few times, and another family’s dog as well. I just graduated from NAU, so I am very available this summer. Weekdays as well as weekends! I am only in Flagstaff until the end of July. Making sure if it’s a gated house, that the gate is closed when supposed to be. Making sure the pet is not getting into anything it shouldn’t be.
About: For the past 5+ years, I have been the go-to sitter for my sisters and friends, caring for pups of all ages and personalities. Whether it’s letting them out for playtime zoomies, keeping them fed and happy, or letting them out for scheduled potty breaks. I love making our furry family members feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I enjoy creating a fun, stress-free experience for your dog or cat, and love learning their routines, quirks, and comfort needs. I am always up for belly rubs, behind the ear scratches, fetch sessions, or just some nice quiet time cuddles - whichever they enjoy the most or all of the above. My family and I have always loved animals. We’ve had several cats, a Cocker-spaniel named Sam and an Akita named Bruno My most recent experiences thus far have been with Doodles, Labradors, Retrievers, an Alaskan Malamute, and an Australian Shepherd and my nieces 3 cats. I sincerely look forward to adding your furry family members and their type of breed to my resume as well. If you’re looking for someone reliable, patient, and genuinely excited to spend time with your dog or cat, Please feel free to get in touch, I’d be thrilled to help care for them as if they were my own. About: I grew up in a family where we always had both dogs and cats, so caring for animals has been a natural part of my life from an early age. As I got older, I continued having my own pets, which gave me real, hands-on experience with different breeds, sizes, and personalities. Over the years, I’ve been responsible for daily routines like feeding, walking, grooming, and making sure pets feel comfortable and safe at home. I’m also used to reading animal behavior, understanding their needs, and adjusting my approach depending on their personality — whether they’re energetic, shy, or more independent. I genuinely love animals and take this responsibility seriously. I treat every pet like my own, with patience, care, and attention. I also make sure to keep owners updated, so you always know your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule and can easily adapt to your pet’s needs. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, and boarding throughout the week, including weekends. I make sure to give pets enough attention, playtime, and care during the day, and I’m consistent with feeding and routines. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I create a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment where animals feel secure. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully, keep a close eye on behavior, and make sure pets are never left unattended in unsafe situations. I can also crate your pet if needed and ensure they get plenty of attention and care.
“I highly recommend Kaetlyn for your pet sitting needs. She was respectful and patient with my dog who can have stranger danger. She was prompt with her visits and I felt that she really cared for my dog. I plan on hiring her again in the future! Thanks, Kaetlyn!”

About: *We do not accept bookings that give less than 48 hour notice from the start date. Sorry!* I am a professional dog trainer and breeder of Australian Shepherds. My family and I have moved all over the US and are now back in Washington! I used to run a fully operational boarding facility and board and train program in Island County and have decided to start out slow now that we're settled back in our home state. I have 20 years of experience training dogs- 15 of those years being a paid, licensed and insured professional. I take the utmost care of any animal in my charge. I treat them like family and honor all the requests made by owners to ensure their pet is treated perfectly when they are gone! I understand the love and care people have for their animals and do everything I can to show that same level of care when they are under my watch. I take videos and photos regularly to keep families updated, as well! I am a SAHM with decades of experience in the canine world. My dogs, and my clients, are my life. They are my whole routine! I am equipped to manage all varieties of dogs from the easiest house guest to dog aggressive cases or complicated medical needs. I tailor my services to each individual dog to give them the best possible care and allow their people to have some freedom and know their dog is well cared for. I make sure to chat with owners and let them know what variety of boarding I offer is most suitable for their dog. I am able to make multiple daily trips to feed, potty and play with client dogs in their homes. My times are very flexible and have often done combo stays- where your dog stays the night with me and I drive it to your home during the day and pick up again in the evening. This works well for senior dogs or puppies who need monitoring over night.
“If I could give Karolina 10 Stars, I would. She took wonderful care of our attention-craving kitty Jimmy, sent us fantastic daily updates with pictures, took great care of our plants, and left the house cleaner than she found it.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
