“Thank you so much Tessa! She did a great job taking care of my two cats and I could trust that they were in good hands. She brought in packages that came while we were gone and even left treats for both kitties even though they hid most of the time. I definitely will rebook in the future!💜”

About: Hi! I’m Carrie, and I’m a lifelong animal lover who understands that pets are family. As a Navy retiree, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide attentive, reliable care and plenty of one-on-one time with your pet. Whether your furry friend needs walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply a calm and caring companion while you’re away, I’ll treat them as if they were my own. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, loved, and comfortable while giving you complete peace of mind. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! Since my kids are pretty grown now, it seems my life revolves around my animals. I am active, so I love to take the pups for walks or hikes (depending on weather). The cats sort of do their own thing, but I’m always down for cat snugs. Our home does allow animals to have free roam. They are allowed in all rooms and on furniture. If your babies are not good with cats, we will not be able to take them. We will give them all the love while you are away and send your photos as much (or as little) as you would like. In your home I will respect all your rules. If you don’t want them on furniture or particular rooms, just let me know and we will follow those guidelines. The love and photo sending mentioned above applies here!

I would love the opportunity to help with your babies needs while you’re on vacation or just for a walk. I care for my two pets in my home every day. I am a trustworthy individual who loves animals. I am able to host some animals in my home. I am also able to go into homes and walk animals or pet sit.
“Olivia was awesome with our pups! She checked in as scheduled and kept us informed each time. The pups loved her and she spent quality time walking and playing with them. We will definitely book with her again!”

“Thank you for going above and beyond for Heath! You were there at the right time to get him out of the water and still feed him and give him his meds. Your a hero!”

“She’s great! I will definitely be rebooking with her she was able to watch my babies on very short notice and was very attentive. I definitely recommend her to anyone looking for pet care. :)”

About: I have experience caring for dogs and cats since fourth grade. I can handle energetic younger dogs as well as older dogs who may like things done a certain way. I have cared for my own dog as well as neighbors’ dogs. I am currently living at home and overall have a wide open schedule, leaving lots of time for dog walks and play-time with any pets. I will always do my best to follow any specific rules or guidelines that a client may have for their dog and be respectful of their home environment.
About: I have hands-on experience caring for animals of all sizes and species — from playful puppies and senior pets to cats, small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and livestock. I’m Fear Free certified and trained in preventative care, nutrition, feline urinary health, and exotic & small mammal care. I also hold a Wildlife Rehabilitation Apprentice License (any wildlife I care for with never be in the house and your fur babies will never be exposed to them) I’m confident in safe handling, administering medications (oral, topical, and insulin), and caring for pets with medical needs, anxiety, or special requirements. I offer grooming services (no cuts) and like to send pets home with clean food and water bowls and fresh bedding. Whether your pet is shy, energetic, or needs extra cuddles, my goal is always the same: to keep them safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. Clear communication is a priority, and I’m always happy to answer questions and tailor care to your pet’s unique needs. Bonus: - I also have military base access! - Drop ins on week days I'm available 1700-2200 (5pm-10pm) - Drop In’s on the weekend I'm available 0800-2200 (8am-10pm) I am currently available all the time as I am a stay at home mom. I also love working with animals in or outside a clinical setting. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities — whether they’re staying in my home or I’m caring for them in yours. I create a calm, structured environment and tailor my approach to each animal’s needs, personality, and routine. When Pets Stay in My Home: - Safe, supervised environment: I keep a clean, pet-friendly home with secure areas for play, rest, and meals. Pets are never left unsupervised with unfamiliar animals. - Separate spaces if needed: If a pet is shy, anxious, or prefers their own space, I can safely separate them from others while still giving them plenty of attention and enrichment. - Clear safety plans: If I’m hosting more than one family at a time and any pet shows signs of stress or aggression, I follow a structured safety plan and communicate everything with you. - Fosters kept separate: I occasionally foster kittens or puppies, but they are always fully vetted and housed in a completely separate, contained area away from guest pets. - Comfort & routine: Pets have access to soft bedding, fresh water at all times, and plenty of affection, enrichment, and potty breaks. When I Care for Pets in Your Home: - Respecting your home and routine: I follow your instructions exactly — feeding schedules, medication routines, walk preferences, crate habits, and household rules. - Low-stress handling: I use Fear Free techniques to help pets feel relaxed, especially those who are nervous or slow to warm up. - Consistency: I keep pets on their normal routine to reduce stress and maintain a familiar environment. Experience You Can Trust: - I’m trained in safe animal handling, medication administration (oral, topical, and insulin), recognizing signs of stress or illness, and caring for dogs, cats, small mammals, and livestock. - I ask plenty of questions up front so I can fully understand your pet’s needs and keep them safe and comfortable. - I believe communication is key — you’ll receive honest updates, photos, and messages so you always feel connected.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sloop Point. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
