About: Animals in my care are given extra TLC. I’ve also taken care of each my personal pets with the upmost love and care, especially in end of life stage. I’ve also been experience in giving meds to pets by mouth. Working in the school system I get more time off. Coming home a strict routine of being fed and going for a walk is followed with play time and then another walk before bed time. In my home I provide safe and pet friendly space where they can be calm and relaxed. When going for walks pets are always leashed and equipped with water jug for when they are thirsty. I always provide a nice comfy bed for them to sleep and toys for them to play with. I allow the comfort of animals to also sleep with me in the bed or be on the couches, whatever makes them feel comfortable and at home. For the summer time, I do open our pool so doggie vests are provided along with supervision while in the pool.
“This is the third time that Jared has taken care of my cat while we were away. Once again, excellent care and service. Reliable and attentive. He did everything I asked. I will be booking Karina and Jared again later this summer!”

About: You know that person animals just gravitate towards because they feel calm and safe? That’s me. A lifelong dog and cat owner, I've also fostered kittens and puppies for 10 yrs through the Animal Rescue League in Boston. I’m comfortable with animals of all sizes and ages. I have a Great Pyrenees mix and used to have a Bernese, and was a longtime foster of a pair of chihuahua mixes. I've bottle-fed kittens, and given senior pets their meds (and slow walks). I’m an active mom of 5 grown human kids, so patience is my middle name. Professionally, I’m a work-from-home journalist (higher ed, travel) and happy to work from yours if your animal wants more companionship than just a drop-in visit. See photos of kittens, puppies and bunnies serving as editorial muse beside my laptop. I work from home and have a fairly flexible schedule, can do drop in visits or even work from your home for the day while hanging out with your pet(s). Let's talk about your needs! Animals know the people they can trust -- they might be entertained by pizzaz, but they sidle up against the calm, patient, consistent presence. That's me. I'm a mom of 5 nearly-grown children, so I understand order and systems, and will be a quick learner of yours.
“Hunter went above and beyond while caring for our three cats for this past week. When the storm was approaching, she texted me to see if I wanted her to put our water bowls in case the power went out. It did, and she did put water out. From the pics, I could tell that Emma warmed up to Hunter right away. Iris got her pills even though she was skittish. Thank you, Hunter, for taking care of the kids.”
“There are so many things I could say about Mariah, but it still wouldn’t be enough. She bailed us out after a one day notice. I had to go to work and she took care of our beautiful puppy teddy. He was happy having fun running around and he really enjoys seeing other people. Teddy wasn’t feeling good, yet she wrote us a card saying he’s a lot better and she just went beyond all of our expectations. If you are looking for a sitter who goes above and beyond, look no further than Mariah. We will be using her again!”
About: Hi! I love animals and have years of experience caring for pets. My very first job was walking my neighbor's dog every day after school throughout middle and high school. Since then, I've trained my own dog, regularly pet sat for neighbors, and have volunteered and advocated for animal welfare. One of my favorite activities is animal yoga—I’ve been to both puppy yoga and goat yoga! I'm currently starting medical school, and while my career is focused on caring for people, I've always had a passion for caring for animals. You can count on me to be responsible, attentive, and patient. I'll treat your pets with the same love and care I give my own. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your furry family members, and I'd love the opportunity to give you that peace of mind. I'm currently in my gap year before starting medical school, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of availability for pet care. I also work part-time at a restaurant, which gives me flexibility during the day. I love spending time outside, so dog walks and outdoor play are something I genuinely enjoy. Caring for pets is the perfect way for me to spend my free time while helping owners. I always do my best to keep pets on their normal routine so they feel comfortable while you're away. I'm experienced with walking dogs, feeding, refilling water, crating when needed. At home, my dog enjoys daily walks and time playing in our fenced-in yard, so I understand how important exercise is. I will always make sure your pets get the love and care they need. I am also happy to keep you updated with photos and messages.
About: Experienced pet owner who loves to run around with pups in the yard. From cats to horses, I've cared for all sizes of pets since I was little. Fetch and play time are already a big part of my weekly schedule and would love to have another friend join my little one. I love lazy cuddle time while watching TV but also know exercise is critical to a pets wellbeing! I have a huge fenced backyard where my dogs love to hangout and play. They would love company as the dog park and new friends are one of their favorite things and they get along with every other dog and person they have met

About: I have experience caring for both energetic puppies and senior pets. With puppies, I focus on patience, consistency, and reinforcing the training and routines you’re already working on. With seniors, I provide gentle, attentive care and make sure they stay comfortable and stress-free. I truly care about your pet’s well-being and happiness. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I work from home and am home most of the day. This allows me to give pets plenty of attention, regular potty breaks, meals on schedule, and companionship throughout the day rather than long stretches alone. I tailor my care based on the service and your pet’s needs. Whether caring for pets in my home or yours, I focus on consistency, comfort, and safety. I follow your pet’s routine closely, provide plenty of attention and companionship, reinforce training for puppies, and offer patient, gentle care for senior pets. I also communicate regularly with updates and photos so you can feel confident while you’re away.
About: I have been surrounded by animals since I was little, and not just family pets. While I grew up in a golden retriever family (on golden 4 now), I also currently have a cat, have had fish, guinea pigs, and bunnies. I have worked and volunteered at local farms, and bathed, groomed, fed, and played with all sorts of animals, and am equipped for a variety of animal care services. I also have lots of experience with pets of friends and family, and dog sitting, and get along well with all! I am recently graduated and back home in CT for the foreseeable future. I have a very flexible schedule, so please reach out with any requests and I am sure I can make it work. I am very good at tending to animals needs, but also going beyond. I know how to play with animals and help even the shyest feel comfortable, whether with treats, playtime, cuddles, or even my dog’s personal favorite - classical music! I am good with animals who are fearful as much as I am good with animals bursting with energy. I am able to feed dogs and cats and any pet, make sure they always have water available, give them potty breaks and walks, and playtime and rest time as needed. And of course, I am always happy to just sit and keep animals company - they need it as much as we do!

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was 16 years old. I am now 22 with three cats of my own and a love for taking care of furry friends!!🐈⬛🐕 I am currently a college student available from 1-6:30 every weekday. After 4 pm on Saturday I am available and all day Sunday! My whole life I have been called an animal whisperer, as I get along with any animal I interact with. It brings me a lot of joy to care for pets and make owners feel secure in their decision to hire me. I am very detail oriented when it comes to their routine and will ask questions to confirm I am taking care of your pet correctly.
About: I have had dogs since I was a kid and been a cat dad for 6 years. I've pet sit for senior dogs, helped train puppies, and everything in between. I'll take your dog for a short walk around the yard or a long hike up a mountain, whatever your good boy or girl needs. I have been cat sitting for sociable, playful cats and independent, quiet cats. There is nothing more important than your pet's health and happiness I work full time, but I'm available after 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday and from 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. I cannot board animals at this time, but I am more than happy to visit your furry friend in your home. I can offer friendly walks or overnight sitting without having to displace your pet from their environment.
“Last minute booking, last minute changes, special instructions, and it was totally managed by Katherine. She was so kind to my dog and sent great feedback and photos. She asked clarifying questions and responded to me promptly. She was fabulous. Highly recommend.”

I am a high school Spanish teacher on summer vacation, and I am available every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this summer to walk your dog or check in on your pets while you are away. About: I campaigned to my parents to get our dog for years and paid for his adoption fee. I have watched several dogs while babysitting children as well, and used to watch my neighbors and friends cats and dogs often when I was younger. I have also recently looked after a few gerbils and used to own 4 guinea pigs! I would love to watch or walk anybody’s cats or dogs because I really just enjoy the experience of being around animals so much, they bring everyone around them so much peace and joy and are the purest creatures! I’m currently a sophomore in college, so I’m looking to fill up my breaks by spending time with animals! I am available from now December 27th through January 20th as well as most weekends because I come home from school. My semester ends in early May so by around May 10th I should be free until the end of August! I will walk and play with dogs, give dogs and cats food and water, pet and show love to dogs and cats I’m watching and anything else requested you usually do with your pet at home so long as it’s reasonable!
“Highly recommended! Jen is kind, responsible, thoughtful and communicative. She cared for our golden retriever over a two day period with numerous drop ins on a set schedule, and sent detailed reports and photos after each visit. She cared for and about our dog’s physical and emotional health during our absence, and I felt confident that she could handle any problem that might arise. Thank you, Jen! Tucker looks forward to seeing you again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Simsbury with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
