“Appreciate Caitlin and Nola for having Bori over. Guessing she had a lot of fun as she was spent when she came home. Thanks for taking Bori out for a walk and to the local park. Not needed but greatly appreciated, especially as you helped continue minor habits I’ve been trying to embed in Bori’s lifestyle. Thanks so much for a day of no worries!”

About: Our dogs are the most important beings in our lives. We want to share our oasis with other small dogs. Our goal is to have an animal sanctuary with many kinds of animals, but we are starting with small dogs in our home. We have two small loving dogs, Button, a 7 year-old Lhasa Apso, and Bow, a 5 year-old Daschapoo. Our dogs have their own nursery, and our canine guests will stay next door in their own space. We have a beautiful garden the dogs will have continual access to, as well as two walks a day--one a longer adventure to Chabot Park, the beach, or a comparable change of scenery. We have always been very stressed about leaving our dogs when we go away, and all the commercial pet resorts seem to be glorified kennels: noisy, spartan, overwhelming, incommensurately expensive for what they offer. We are new to hosting canine guests; the Doge Palace is brand new, so we will only be taking one small dog at a time and keeping our initial rates artificially below market rate. Your dog needs to be trained not to pee or poo in the house and be accustomed to spending time with other dogs. Our guests will sleep in their own bed nestled near our own dogs. In the future, half of the proceeds will be donated to the East Bay SPCA to provide assistance to people who cannot afford veterinary care and Nobody's Perfekt Dogs and Cats Rescue for disabled or elderly dogs. At the moment, we want to help the many abandoned pets in Ukraine, so we will be sending contributions there and to Poland where pets of refugees are in need of help. Jeffrey routinely does pro-bono work through his college counseling company for the SPCA--his regular rates are paid for through a direct donation to the SPCA by the client. We want to grow these donations by contributing half of what we make to two animal care organizations and the rest to our dream of having an animal sanctuary. We have a dedicated dog nursery where they can play, a beautiful large fenced-in, quiet garden oasis, and plenty of toys. The dogs get to get out half a dozen times a day for potty breaks and to enjoy themselves outside. We take them out on a walk at noon and in the early evening. Our canine guests will get a one hour-long outing to a park or beach. Robert is a biotech executive that works from home three days a week, and Jeffrey is a professor who works at home all the time. There will always be somebody home and when we leave the house for more than a couple hours, we bring the dogs with us.

About: Hello! My name is Tabatha and I've taken care of dogs for the past 10 years outside of having dogs myself for my whole life. I’ve used Rover for my dog too, so I understand the level of care pet parents look for! I also foster dogs from local shelters from time to time so I’m used to working with all kinds of pups. Let me know how I can help. I'm looking forward to hearing from you! I work a few days a week and I’m also in grad school! But I absolutely love taking dogs out for a walk so I get a break too :) I have a fenced in yard and am familiar with walks and parks in my area. I also love playing and engaging pets with toys and training.

Jeffrey & Robert W.
“I am Jeffrey and Robert's vet. They take extraordinary care of their dogs, going well beyond 99% of my clients. I would imagine that they will be excellent hosts since their dogs have the kind of personality that only comes from the love and security of the very best doggy parents. They have even nursed wounded birds and restored neighbor's lost pets. On two occasions that I can remember they saved a lost dog, found out who the neighbors were, and returned the missing dog to their neighbors.”

Tabatha B.
“Tabatha provides excellent care for my dog when I’m away. From walks and adventures to consistent photos and updates, I’m always comfortable leaving my dog in her care.”

Sheffield Village dog parents share their Rover experiences
She is a total sweetie and very accommodating! My dog can get shy and anxious around new people and other dogs and Julia took great care of her adapting to what will work best to ease some of my girls anxiety. Sent lots of pictures and updates as well, we already booked her for more overnights as well as drop ins! She is very flexible with her schedule and meeting her clients needs. Thank you Julia!

Miriam was very attentive to our Bailey and kept a close eye on her, keeping in communication with me and paying great attention to her and her needs, as she has anxiety, arthritis and other age-related conditions. Very grateful to Miriam for her availability, openness and good care!

Buffy had the best time here! Zo was very accommodating, she took my last min request and worked with my drop off and pick up time. It’s such a relief knowing my dog was cared for well, as well as had play time with her dog. I got pictures of Buffy’s status and was given updates. Definitely returning!
