“Mona was an angel. We have an 18-year-old almost fully blind dog who is never left alone and we were terrified about leaving him with someone we didn’t know.. Mona came to our hotel and spent three days taking care of Ziggy while we were out having fun and relaxing. From the moment she walked in the room we knew she’d be a great fit.. She’s very responsible, kind, caring and attentive.. She took pictures and made sure to keep in contact with us throughout the day at our request. When it came time OK for her to leave Ziggy tried to follow her out!!! we will definitely be using her again and I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a pet sitter. Mona, we thank you so very much. You’re amazing.!”
About: I have always grownup with dogs. I currently own 3 dogs and I love being outdoors. Adventures with my pets are always amazing. I feel great joy anytime I hangout with pets. I currently work as an electrical designer engineer. I also run an Airbnb with my partner and we both do Rover together. I work from home Wednesday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday my schedule is flexible. I have a fully fenced home this includes the front of house as well. The outside of the house has cameras to ensure the property is safe. We also have outdoor lighting. We also have two separate backyards one for our pets and the other for your furry friends.
About: Hi!, my name is Justin and I've been taking care of animals of all shapes and sizes since I can remember, as such I'm very excited to get to work with and for all our four-legged friends! As mentioned above my core values include being energetic, adaptable and patient, and through these values you and your pet(s) can expect discreet professional level service at anytime you need me. Hope to meet you soon! - Justin Despite currently job-hunting at this time, my schedule is completely wide open for all your petcare and play needs, and even after when I find a position I'll be sure to keep your pets a priority in my schedule. I currently live with my sisters' 2 Labradoodles, and as such each day it's my duty to make sure they're let outside between 7:30-8am, given a Greenie dog brush treat when they return, have a clean, full water dish with clean filters, are generally behaved and not causing damage to anything (rip Birkenstocks, you'll be missed), played with, are fed between 5-7pm, and let outside throughout the day until last call at 10pm. Regarding house sitting, my bounds all depend on the dog(s) themselves as well as your personal preferences. If they have seperation anxiety, need attention 24/7 due to medical reasons or just want someone to play with, then I have no issue staying all days and/or nights for them, but if they need only to be checked on routinely then I would be absent from the home so as to value your privacy. At the time of writing this I have no scheduling issues with staying overnight during house sitting calls, but if you only need check-ins then I can check in as many times as necessary.
“Maggie is the best! We are from out of town and had a family emergency. Maggie was so attentive to our needs and our dog, who had surgery a week ago. I highly recommend Maggie who has a heart of gold.”

I am currently working part time and have a great deal of flexibility for taking extra special care of your fur babies. I love spending time with all kinds of animals. About: I’ve been a pet owner for most of my life, so caring for animals comes naturally to me. I understand that every pet has a unique personality, routine, and way of feeling secure. I take time to get to know each pet so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. Whether they enjoy gentle walks, playtime, quiet companionship, or extra cuddles, I will provide the dependable and attentive care they need. After recently saying goodbye to my beloved dog of 12 years, I am not quite ready to welcome another puppy of my own. Caring for other people’s pets has become an especially meaningful way for me to continue sharing my love for animals. I understand how deeply pets are cherished, and I will care for yours with the same tenderness and attention I would want for my own. Since I work from home, I’m available any day of the week and have plenty of time to give your pet the attention, companionship, and affection they deserve. I believe every pet is unique, so I take the time to earn their trust, follow their routine, and make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I care for every pet as if they were my own. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I follow your care instructions carefully, pay attention to each pet’s unique personality, and provide lots of love, patience, and companionship. I’ll also keep your home tidy and send regular updates so you always know how your furry family member is doing.
“We stayed at the Ritz Carlton and Matthew was able to come pick up our Frenchy and take him to his home down the street for afternoon playtime each day. He would then return him after we left for dinner to his crate in our room. Our pup was relaxed and calm and so excited to see Matthew when he’d pick him up.”

About: With over 11 years of hands-on cat care experience, I bring a depth of understanding that goes far beyond basic sitting. My background includes working with animal shelters, caring for energetic kittens, supporting senior cats with special routines, and raising my own three cats, each with their own unique needs and personalities. This range has taught me how to read feline behavior, adapt quickly, and provide calm, confident care in any situation. I’m especially attentive to routine, cleanliness, and emotional comfort. Whether a cat needs gentle patience, playful engagement, or quiet companionship, I tailor my care to what helps them feel safest and most at ease. I treat every cat as an individual—not a checklist—and my goal is always for pet parents to feel complete peace of mind knowing their cat is in experienced, compassionate hands. I’m a full-time pet sitter, which means your cats receive my full attention—not rushed visits squeezed around another job. My flexible schedule allows me to spend quality time with your pets, closely monitor their needs, and adjust care as needed to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I strive to maintain a peaceful, secure environment in your home so your pets feel comfortable and stress-free. From following routines to keeping your space tidy and secure, safety and trust are always my top priorities.
“My dogs loooove you!!Thank you so much for loving and caring for them like I do!! It's such peace of mind knowing you adore them and treat them like your own!!! Until next time! 🤗 XO”

About: I grew up in a home that adopted cats & dogs and was the prime caregiver since animal's lives and happiness are close my heart. I believe in SPOILING them, not giving them all of the treats, but in giving them tons of attention and activity. Zonking them out at night so they have the best night's sleep. I love all dogs, tiny to giants and long-haired too. I laugh at zoomies. My animal voice disarms them quickly so even the most nervous cats or dogs warm up to me in time. I respect boundaries and listen/watch body language so that neither of us are uncomfortable. I love to go on walks with them, letting them smell every flower along the way. I love playing tug of war or chasing each other or throwing a ball for hours. They are such special little beings and deserve the best care. With me, they would be loved on, scratched, belly rubbed, or brushed to their delight! I work from home and set my schedule. So, I would be available to watch your furbabies during the times that you need, overnights, or just daily drop-bys. All I need is wifi and if it's the summer, AC. I am happy to bring any cat-friendly dogs into my home. Both of my cats LOVE dogs. But your furbabies would have to have up-to-date vaccinations to do so. I'm happy to have them here. If they like walks, I go on one daily for about an hour. If I need to, I can split that walk in two, no worries. Spending time with them at a dog park. Throwing the ball or playing outside with their favorite toy is also something that I would enjoy doing. I am happy to find what each furbaby needs and to meet it. I love getting to know animals and their specific qualities/likes/dislikes and meeting their needs and having fun. The whole idea to me is that if their humans are out of town. having fun, they should have an equal amount of fun too!
About: I grew up in an animal-loving family. We raised chickens, dogs, cats, birds, turtles, rabbits, etc together. That is where my fondness for furry, scaly, and feathery friends began. Since then, I have taken it upon myself to learn more about them, and work with them. I have taken classes on Animal Health and Care, have volunteered at the Pet Rescue Center in Coachella, and domesticated feral cats in my neighborhood. My skills include, but are not limited to: nursing puppies, potty-training cats, giving oral medication, and bathing. I am available to take care of your fur-babies Monday through Sunday, from 7am-6pm. I am an artist that gets to create her own schedule! So, as long as I don’t have an event planned, I am free, free, free! I do my best to create a connection with dogs and cats to help them feel safe with me. Once they do, we get forward with cuddles and play-time!
About: Lover of all animals. 20 years experience with our own dogs and others both HUGE and Small. Recently said goodbye to our old boy (a Large Great Weimar) and looking to spend some time with new doggy friends until we get our next. Extensive history with senior dogs and all of the care that goes along with that (assisted bathroom walks, pill schedules, dog bed changing, pee pads, etc), especially patience and love. Also happy with long walks or hikes for the adventurous tail waggers out there! My husband works from home full time, and I currently am available to give my full attention to our pet friends. So walks and attention at any time are not a problem. We have a large fenced in yard with additional barriers that can be added if needed. Lots of grass and play areas for fetch available. We also live in a gated golf community, with many paths and trails for any length of walks and play.

About: I’ve always felt drawn to animals, even as a toddler, and I’m grateful they have always been in my life one way or another. I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, parrots, bunnies and I’m 200% comfortable around all types of animals, including yours! Most of my happiest memories of a child include being around dogs and I have continued to be involved in their care in professional as well as volunteer-based ways. I consistently donate my time to rescues by fostering them, setting up adoption events and volunteering at shelters. I’m also the kind of person who will stop to say hello to a dog walking past me in the street. I adopted my own five-year old rescue, Pippin, who LOVES other pups and is happy to keep them company with me when boarding a dog in our home. I’m an active individual…exercise is very important to me—both for myself and Pippin, and I am a great match for high-energy dogs. At a bare minimum (unless otherwise specified by the owner), I make sure we walk for at least an hour and if your pup needs more exercise, I am more than capable of exercising for multiple hours! I go above and beyond with communication by sending regular photo, video and text updates in real time so you know your pup is healthy, happy and secure when in my care. I also make sure I understand your pup’s usual schedule and then do my best to stick to their regular feeding times, activity times (and level) and play their favorite games. Does your pup like hiking? Great, because I do too! In short, I get to know my clients’ dogs’ favorite things to do and then make sure our time together is a healthy mix of the activities they enjoy. It can be difficult for a pup to trust a new person right off the bat so I take the time to earn their trust through belly rubs, ear scratches, cuddles and healthy treats. I have over two decades of experience caring for all types of breeds, temperaments and sizes, and I do whatever it takes to understand their quirks and then tailor my care to their specific needs. I work as a freelance copywriter but besides that my schedule is wide open for pet care during the evenings and on weekends. I have a student mindset and am always interested in learning as much as I can to provide your pup with the best care possible. Send me a message, I can’t wait to meet you!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Shadow Ridge Creek
Matthew is awesome, communicative, and detail-attentive. On same-day short notice he dogsat our two girls at our home for an evening, and they both loved him. Matthew not only gave attention and followed care instructions perfectly, he was also very mindful of being a considerate guest in our home and checked in with us about any questions; he is a thoughtful and caring individual. We will absolutely book with him again and recommend his services to other dog parents!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
