“We are so lucky to have Sally as our pet sitter! She takes amazing care of our cats and dog. She sends tons of pictures, she is very responsive, and she cheerfully goes along with all my little quirky OCD requests about pet care. We appreciate her and trust her in our home!”

“Emily was fantastic to work with. She sent us lots of pictures, and kept us informed of their wellbeing. We felt very comfortable with having her watch our dogs and cats after out initial meeting. We came home and all 5 of our babies were happy, and healthy. Would love to have her watch them in the future.”

“Alexandra was absolutely wonderful with my dog. He’s notoriously sensitive to change—often refusing to eat and hiding when I’m away. But within just two days of being with Alexandra, he was out of his shell and eating normally. Her calm, caring approach clearly made him feel safe and comfortable. I’m beyond grateful and will definitely be booking her again for future trips. Highly recommend!”

“Danielle was an excellent pet sitter. She stayed at my house with my 2 dogs. One of my dogs is a rescue dog and suffers from PTSD and I can’t leave him at a kennel. Danielle was very professional and gave me feedback on how they were doing in my absence. I highly recommend her.”
“Timia was great to our pups while we were away! She was a joy to get to meet beforehand. She took her time letting the dogs get to know her. Dogs seemed to have a great time with her here, and we came home to two well cared for pups. Thanks Timia for easing our minds while we were away, and loving on them extra well. If schedules align, we will definitely have Timia back!”

“Chloe was great with our fur babies!! We got plenty of updates with pictures and videos. We will only have Chloe pet sit for us. She’s very trustworthy and great with communication.”

“Katherine has been a phenomenal sitter for my senior dogs. She has been very attentive and has sent me adorable pictures and videos. I was very nervous leaving them for 8 days but Katherine has honestly gone above and beyond my expectations!!! I would highly recommend and I hope to use her again in the near future.”

About: I’ve been dog sitting for about 4 years and have experience caring for pets with special medical needs. My own dog has separation anxiety, depression, and receives injections at home, so I’m comfortable with extra care and medication. I’ve also cared for my cousin’s dog with epilepsy, including administering medication and staying calm during seizures. I love getting to know every pet’s unique personality and treat each one like they’re my own. I’m a student at the University of South Carolina with a flexible schedule that gives me plenty of time to care for your pets. I’d love to start by offering dog walks and drop-in visits, and I’m also happy to provide pet sitting as needed. I always do my best to work around each family’s schedule and make sure every pet gets the attention and care they deserve. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities. I have reliable transportation throughout Columbia, pay close attention to routines and instructions, and always provide a calm, caring environment. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
“Stephanie is great!! We have a shy baby that takes a while to warm up to people but Stephanie was getting kisses from her after 2 days. We will definitely rebook with her!”

“Ken did a great job managing my super anxious, big baby Chewy. He communicated well and allowed her to take her time to warm up. Throughout the short stay, Ken provided updates with pictures which gave me peace of mind knowing Chewy was taken care of. I could not be happier with the experience and will be booking again in the future. If you are looking for a responsible, caring, and reliable sitter, Ken is your guy. Highly recommend.”

“Carley was amazing! I highly recommend her! She was professional, on time, and checked in on my dogs multiple times a day. Carley checked in with me multiple times a day and sent me multiple photos. I felt very comfortable knowing she was taking such good care of my boys. I will definitely book her again!”
About: 30+ years loving and caring for all types of fur babies! I've been around animals most of my life so it is second nature to me to take care of and love on them! Do you want someone not just to feed but also love your pets? I am currently between jobs and as such an available 24/7 at the moment. I have recently applied to some full time jobs, so that may update soon. In home the pets stay indoors unless needing to potty. We have a fenced in back yard with plenty of room to roam and play. At times when we are out of the house the (dogs) would be on the covered back porch with water and full access to the fenced in yard.
About: Animals are special creatures who deserve special care and love. I've cared for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and rabbits since I was old enough to talk. Specifically, I've been hired by many friends, family, and friends of friends to pet sit as well as house sit! I am a kind and strong person who has most experience caring for dogs in all walks of life, including administering medication and special care to a large and elderly dog with blindness and cervical spondylomyelopathy (Wobbler Syndrome). I myself have 3 cat children (an inseparable brother-sister combo named Biscuits and Gravy, and an elderly cat named Feeny). I most enjoy caring for animals in their own homes/spaces where they can feel comfortable and keep their known routines. I have an intuitive approach to pets and a deep sense of integrity and honesty. I consider myself lucky to interact with as many beautiful pet children as I can! I have a very flexible and open schedule at the moment, so I am available for daytime, nighttime, weekends, as well as longer-term sitting, if required. I offer care in your own home to ensure your pet feels safe and has as little of break in routine as possible without their owners. I have the utmost integrity and honesty. I am a strong, astute, sensitive, and confident person who will care for your pet as my own.
About: I have had pets my whole life. I currently have two cats. In college I worked on a farm and cared for cattle, chickens, goats, pigs, and alpaca. I am currently a zoo keeper and have been in the field for three years. I have cared for reptiles, small mammals, some birds, and larger hoof stock. I have experience giving medications, preparing special diets, training, and observing animal health/behavior. I have worked with young and senior animals. I currently have Sunday and Monday off so anytime of days work then. Then I work 8-5 Tuesday through Saturday. I can stop by before or after work. I am great at following instructions. When going into your home or staying the night I will provide the best care I can. I will make sure to respect your home and your pets!
“Lucas was a great sitter! He was very attentive to our pets, we felt like they were well taken care of! He sent a lot of pictures and videos which we appreciated! His dog, Bo Peep, is the sweetest and was fantastic company to our dogs!”

“Alina was wonderful! She communicated with us regularly throughout the week, asked thoughtful questions when needed, and made sure everything was taken care of for both our dogs and our home. She was friendly, reliable, and our dogs absolutely loved her. We were so grateful for her care and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!”

I cannot express in words the peace of mind we had while Stephanie watched our service animals for us, in the hotel. It was great being able to go for a bit, out unassisted and search for rental homes, where if we took our service dogs, we risked being discriminated against. She came on short notice and was affordable. So, it was nice to have some human help too, sometimes! Anyways, we will most definitely be booking with her again, so long as she is available! I highly recommend her. She was very professional and was a natural.
Emma took wonderful care of Baloo while I was away! She kept my house clean, sent regular updates and photos, and made me feel completely at ease knowing he was in good hands. It was clear that Baloo was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I really appreciated her communication and the care she showed for both my dog and my home. I would absolutely book with Emma again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter.

We are so happy we found Sue! We always take our dogs on trips with us, so it was super hard to leave them for the first time with someone, but Sue made us feel very comfortable. She stayed at our home, ensured our girls stayed on their routine with their daily walks and meals, and sent cute photos/updates so I knew they were happy. Sue also went above and beyond by washing the sheets/making the bed she slept in, getting our mail, watering our flowers, and kept our house nice and clean for us to come home to. I feel relieved to have found a dog sitter my dogs were so comfortable with. We will definitely be using her again! Thank you!!
Michael and Tracy are absolutely wonderful! They watched our two pups while we went to a family wedding and we didn't worry once. We were able to enjoy our time and knew our pups were in great hands. The updates and pictures we received while we were away showed us how comfortable our dogs were with both Tracy and Michael. Plus Tracy made sure to keep track of our pup's medicine schedule, which was a cherry on top to making us feel as ease. We can't recommend them enough! Thanks so much Michael and Tracy!
Valarie is the best! She is trustworthy and reliable. I feel so much better knowing that she is staying with our dog Ryder while we are away. She is great about keeping me updated with pictures and messages and always leaves the house neat and clean. She’s the best! I highly recommend her.

Melissa is such a caring sitter, she is professional and respectful and paid very close attention to every detail to ensure Sky's wellness. She consistently communicated with me throughout the 2 weeks she stayed with Sky, which made me feel at ease and was able to truly relax knowing Sky was well taken care of. Melissa is very reliable and left the house in pristine condition, everything clean and even took care of my plants. Thanks so mich, Melissa!

Angela has watched my dogs in home for years. I can leave my babies in her hands and go on vacation with peace of mind knowing they are well cared for. She complies with all instructions and medications and always lets me know if anything comes up in the moment. She can handle all types of dogs from small to large, from calm to crazy (I have had dogs in all these categories). She also leaves no trace in the house! You would never know she was there! I highly recommend Angela!

We met with Kelly before our trip. She was VERY good with both of our boys. We were very comfortable with leaving her at our home to take care of them. I would VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Kelly. Kelly provided walks, playtime and lots of snuggles which allowed us to enjoy our family reunion. Thank you so much Kelly!!

Thrace is a wonderful sitter. My boys took to her right away at our meet & greet, and were obviously happy campers upon return. She kept me updated with pictures throughout the stay, and her response time is fast, both of which are so appreciated. Thrace was very respectful of our home, as well as the boys’ routine. I won’t hesitate to rebook with her in the future!
Maggie did house sitting for us for one elderly dog and one puppy. Really helpful to have Maggie’s expertise from all her experience working with dogs since our young puppy started getting sick. She provided documentation we could take to the vet and gave us insight that helped us stay calm til we could get back home. She stayed in touch in general which we appreciated since we were nervous doing our first weekend away using a dog sitter

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Seven Oaks walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Seven Oaks maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Seven Oaks choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Seven Oaks. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
