Owein was amazing! He came ahead of time to meet the pups and talk through all the care stuff in person which I really appreciated! Owein was so thorough, thoughtful, and took extra care to make me feel confident with their care. I was sent regular updates a couple of photos which was great! Overall, the care my dogs received was fantastic and I would definitely like to have Owein watch my dogs in the future. Highly recommend!

About: I’ve loved and cared for animals for as long as I can remember. I have experience caring for both dogs and cats of different ages, sizes, and personalities. I’ve helped rescue animals, cared for my own pets, and understand how important it is to provide patience, love, exercise, and a safe environment. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or just relaxing with company, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and cared for while you’re away. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know how your furry family member is doing. I currently work part-time, which gives me flexibility to care for your pets before and after work, as well as on my days off. I’m happy to work with your schedule whenever possible and will always make sure your pet gets the attention, exercise, love, and care they deserve. Whether it’s a quick potty break, a walk, or quality cuddle time, I’ll be there for them. I know trusting someone with both your pet and your home is a big decision, and I take that responsibility seriously. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. I’ll treat your home with respect and follow all of your care instructions, including feeding schedules, walks, medications (if needed), and any special requests. I treat every pet like they’re my own by providing plenty of love, patience, playtime, and attention. I’ll also send regular photo and video updates so you can relax knowing your furry family member is safe, happy, and receiving the best care while you’re away.

About: I’ve grown up around all types of pets and absolutely love all animals! We’ve had an array of animals in our house growing up such as a German shepherd, parakeets, love birds, hamsters, gerbils, hermit crabs, and Jack Russell terriers! I now own three dogs! We have a super sweet labrador, a frenchie, and a boxer-pit mix. We love taking our big dogs on hikes and out to socialize any chance we get! Daily walks and outside time are a must for our pups and we love every minute of it. I have experience with IVDD and surgeries to follow with my French Bulldog. With that being said, I have first hand experience with caring for a medically fragile animal, administering medications, and seeing signs of discomfort in animals. As a pet owner and lover I know the importance of making sure you have someone you trust with your animal babies! I’m transitioning from being in the classroom full time to substitute teaching once school starts back up. I am free for the summer and will have flexibility in my schedule, especially for afternoons and evenings. I take my own pups out for a walk at least twice a day morning and evening. They also have outside time at least 3-4 times a day for 20+ minutes. If you choose to have your pet board with us we have a full privacy fenced backyard. We also have crates and gated off rooms to separate pups in they need a break or some down time. Our neighborhood is very walkable and private with low traffic.

About: I have experience with senior dogs as I took care of my own senior dog while I was in high school, so I am aware of the unique love and care that they need and appreciate. I also love working with high energy dogs as my family dog back home Toby has unlimited energy for play, so I would love to help your dog get their fill while you’re away! I also now have a cat of my own (shout out James) and I absolutely love taking care of cats and their unique quirks! I would love to take care of your wonderful cat so they are comfortable and taken care of while you’re away from home! I am currently getting my master's in counseling, so I have plenty of time during the day outside of my few class times to make sure your pet is properly taken care for! I spoil my cat James! I have adjusted my balcony in my apartment to make sure he gets plenty of time to bird watch with me while I enjoy my morning coffee and book! Figuring out his unique personality and how to take care of him based on his needs was important, as he is very particular with the types of toys he likes! I also loved getting him a water fountain instead of a bowl to make sure James gets enough water! All that being said I want to make sure I spoil your dog or cat just as good as I care for my James!

Throughout the short stay, Ken provided updates with pictures which gave me peace of mind knowing Chewy was taken care of. I could not be happier with the experience and will be booking again in the future. If you are looking for a responsible, caring, and reliable sitter, Ken is your guy. Highly recommend.

Meghann was great with our dogs and cat. We could not believe how quickly our small dog, who is scared of everything and everyone, warmed up to her. Within a day she was snuggling up with Meghann on the couch. Totally unheard of. Our other dog, a lab, loved her as well, and the cat seemed as happy as he ever is. The house was clean and tidy when we got home. We would definitely have Meghann sit for us again.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and cats. I’m reliable and take the time to make sure they feel comfortable. I can help with dogs (basic routines and leash walking) and I’m patient with senior pets who need a little extra care. I treat every pet like my own I work at a dog grooming place most days, so I’m around animals all the time. I’m off on Sundays and Wednesdays and have more flexibility then, but I can still do pet care after work on other days if that’s needed. I care for pets in my client’s home by following their routine for feeding, walks, and playtime. I keep them safe, clean up after them and spend time with them so they feel comfortable. I also follow any special instructions and send updates to the owner.

About: I've been helping take care of dogs for friends, family, and neighbors since I was a teenager. I've owned 3 dogs myself over the last 15 years - ranging in age from puppies to seniors - and have been right by their side every step of the way. I'm also the one in the neighborhood always looking out for strays to help the reunite with their family. I currently work full time during the week, but I work remotely Mondays and Fridays, so my schedule is more flexible for walks those days. Weekends I am usually open. I am available to pet/house sit most days with notice, but if it is a weekday, I will need high speed internet available for work, and Tuesday - Thursday I will usually be gone from approx. 9am - 6pm for work unless I can arrange otherwise. Safety is first and your pet's safety will always my number one concern. Let me know any special situations that you may have for your pet!

About: As a high school teacher, I’m dependable, patient, and calm under pressure. I’ve personally owned three dogs over the past 25 years, so I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. I do not currently have pets in my home, which allows me to give focused attention and care to the dogs I work with. I also love being outdoors and enjoy walks, routines, updates, and helping pets feel comfortable and cared for. As a teacher, I’m very organized and consistent with routines. During the summer, I have a flexible schedule with plenty of availability throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, and quality time with pets. During the school year, I’m available in the afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays, and school breaks. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I enjoy being active, outdoors, and dependable for both pets and their owners. I care for pets with patience, consistency, and lots of attention. With my own dogs over the years, I loved taking them on walks, riverwalks, lake outings, and other safe outdoor adventures. I enjoy keeping dogs active, comfortable, and cared for while also respecting each owner’s routines and instructions.

If you’re looking for a reliable dog sitter for drop-ins or in-home care, Chelsea is your girl! My Cavalier, Marlo, has high separation anxiety, but she loves her time with Chelsea and settles in quickly. Chelsea has watched her many times while we’ve been on vacation and always goes above and beyond to keep her happy, safe, and spoiled with cuddles. She sends plenty of updates and photos, which gives us total peace of mind while we’re away. We’re so grateful to have her- highly recommend booking!

FAQs for House Sitting - Yacht Cove

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Yacht Cove on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 606 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Yacht Cove. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Yacht Cove walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Yacht Cove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Yacht Cove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Yacht Cove. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
