About: I have a PhD in the philosophy of animal cognition and ethics from Duke University. I work full time as a professor at NAU. During the summer, I don’t teach, so I’m available to help with your pets all day. I’ve taken care of animals since I adopted my first dog at 8 years old. Since then, I’ve had 5 dogs and 2 cats. Currently I have a 12 year old lab mix, a 2 year old blue heeler mix, and 2 cats. I run ultramarathons and will be happy to take your pup on a trail run around Munds. I compete in powerlifting competitions so can handle walking large and strong dogs. I currently am on summer break (May-August) so am available to watch and care for your pets all day everyday. During the academic year (Sept-April) I work 12-5pm and am free mornings and evenings. I have a fenced in yard. My pups love other dogs, but if your dog isn’t into others, I have a spare bedroom to separate everyone.

“We can't say enough good about our dogs stay with Pari, Jacob and family. Lots of walks and pictures. Prompt responses to all messages and scheduling flexibiity. Most important, love and affection for older dog with seperation anxiety.”

I would highly recommend her if you need your dog looked after and cared for!”

He was able to accommodate our short notice for boarding and was very flexible with the pick up time, which we really appreciated.”

About: I’ve taken care of a wide variety of dogs for the past three years, including dropping by my friends’ houses to watch their pets and homes while they enjoy themselves on a getaway vacation. I’ve had personal experience with having my own dog throughout the majority of my life, and have always had so much love in my heart for caring for my own pets, and my friends and family’s pets as well. My Australian shepherd male dog also recently had puppies, and I have been working with these 7 puppies on potty training, engaging in play, and also discipline by teaching basic commands such as sit, stay, and break. I’m currently working as a full time therapist Tuesday-Fridays and enjoy taking my dog on hikes & walks throughout the week, especially on the weekend. In my own apartment, I take my 3 year old Australian shepherd on approximately 3 walks a day, and we typically are at the dog park once a week so that he can socialize with other dogs. For my close friends’ I tend to let their dogs roam around in the backyard, feed them, and also engage in fetch. I also enjoy being able to lay on the couch cuddled up watching a tv show with their pets as well to provide rest between playing times.

“Turiya took such excellent care of our pups! They had a wonderful time exploring her property and playing with her sweet dog, Aya. We received plenty of updates and photos during their stay too. Turiya is a very sweet person who gave our duo lots of love and attention. Will definitely book with her again.❤️”

“Absolutely wonderful! I don’t know who has more anxiety, me or my dog, but Juanita was able to put us both at ease. She has a beautiful large yard with lots of space for pups to wander and explore. She’s responsive and accommodating. I will absolutely book with her again in the future!”

“My dog runs into Lori's house because she's excited to be there. She sends pics and updates and provides great care. She is also responsive on her cell with questions and pick up times/updates. 10/10 would recommend. ”

“Valentina did a great job with Miso the cat and Charlie the snake! She kept me informed of Miso's daily habits and eating schedule and was able to make adaptations in her home environment to make sure Miso felt comfortable and happy during her stay. 😺 I will definitely be trusting Valentina to care for my critters in the future!”

“Ana María has been watching my dog for nearly two years and has truly made her feel like part of the family. This latest time, as soon as Gracie got out of the car and realized where she was, she trotted to Ana María's front door and never looked back. Gracie has such a magnificent vacation every time she stays there: lots of hikes with the whole family, lots of hugs and love. I never have to worry about a thing when I go away. Furthermore, Ana María is extremely responsive to questions, very flexible when plans change, and she sends the most beautiful pictures of both our pets. She brings out a different facet of their personalities that we don't normally see. Both the cat and the dog are worn out after their vacation, and we've noticed that both have grown calmer and more self assured since spending time with Ana Maria and her family. We love them! They are the best!”

“Debbie is a wonderful dog sitter and took care of Murphy as if he were her own. Murphy just turned a year old, so he is full of energy but is also so stubborn and naughty at times. Debbie was so gracious and accommodating to all of his needs. We love all of the photo updates Debbie sends and the many adventures she took Murphy on. We weren't sure he would want to come home after his vacay stay at Debbie's! We will certainly be reaching out again for his next adventure filled-stay. Thank you Debbie!”

10. Olivia J.
“This might sound like hyperbole, but I’ll say it anyway—Olivia has been such an inspiration to me when it comes to being an animal lover. She cares for her pets with such devotion that I often think of them as her little kids. Olivia celebrates their birthdays and even her anniversaries with them. She was the first person I ever saw take her cat for walks! Olivia is also a strong athlete—particularly as a runner. She competed at the collegiate level and was the number two runner on her team, but always stood out as a natural leader. What’s always impressed me is the joy she brings to exploring the outdoors with her own dog or with friends' dogs. She even throws parties for her pets and her friends’ pets, creating events that are full of fun and love. When she was younger, she worked as a babysitter, and she’s always had that special quality—trustworthy, level-headed, and thoughtful, with a perfect mix of fun and responsibility. Anyone lucky enough to have Olivia care for their pets will quickly see the difference. The proof is in how happy and healthy her beautiful dog, Meadow, has grown to be.”

12. Emily H.
“Emily has taken care of my animals numerous times, but the one that sticks out the most is when my mom and dad passed away in a tragic car accident. I needed to fly out immediately to their city, and Emily was the first person I called in regards to helping me with my animals! She made the process of dealing with grief and funeral arrangements so much easier by taking both of my dogs, a German shepherd and a Great Dane, out during the day and making sure they got the daily adequate exercise that their breeds need! If you need a reliable and honest person to help with your dogs, get my girl Emily!”
