About: I have a PhD in the philosophy of animal cognition and ethics from Duke University. I work full time as a professor at NAU. During the summer, I don’t teach, so I’m available to help with your pets all day. I’ve taken care of animals since I adopted my first dog at 8 years old. Since then, I’ve had 5 dogs and 2 cats. Currently I have a 12 year old lab mix, a 2 year old blue heeler mix, and 2 cats. I run ultramarathons and will be happy to take your pup on a trail run around Munds. I compete in powerlifting competitions so can handle walking large and strong dogs. I currently am on summer break (May-August) so am available to watch and care for your pets all day everyday. During the academic year (Sept-April) I work 12-5pm and am free mornings and evenings. I have a fenced in yard. My pups love other dogs, but if your dog isn’t into others, I have a spare bedroom to separate everyone.

She cares for her pets with such devotion that I often think of them as her little kids. Olivia celebrates their birthdays and even her anniversaries with them. She was the first person I ever saw take her cat for walks! Olivia is also a strong athlete—particularly as a runner. She competed at the collegiate level and was the number two runner on her team, but always stood out as a natural leader. What’s always impressed me is the joy she brings to exploring the outdoors with her own dog or with friends' dogs. She even throws parties for her pets and her friends’ pets, creating events that are full of fun and love. When she was younger, she worked as a babysitter, and she’s always had that special quality—trustworthy, level-headed, and thoughtful, with a perfect mix of fun and responsibility. Anyone lucky enough to have Olivia care for their pets will quickly see the difference. The proof is in how happy and healthy her beautiful dog, Meadow, has grown to be.”

“Emily has taken care of my animals numerous times, but the one that sticks out the most is when my mom and dad passed away in a tragic car accident. I needed to fly out immediately to their city, and Emily was the first person I called in regards to helping me with my animals! She made the process of dealing with grief and funeral arrangements so much easier by taking both of my dogs, a German shepherd and a Great Dane, out during the day and making sure they got the daily adequate exercise that their breeds need! “Ana María has been watching my dog for nearly two years and has truly made her feel like part of the family. This latest time, as soon as Gracie got out of the car and realized where she was, she trotted to Ana María's front door and never looked back. Gracie has such a magnificent vacation every time she stays there: lots of hikes with the whole family, lots of hugs and love. I never have to worry about a thing when I go away. Furthermore, Ana María is extremely responsive to questions, very flexible when plans change, and she sends the most beautiful pictures of both our pets. She brings out a different facet of their personalities that we don't normally see. Both the cat and the dog are worn out after their vacation, and we've noticed that both have grown calmer and more self assured since spending time with Ana Maria and her family. We love them! They are the best!”

Whether you just want someone to take your pet on a walk, drop in to feed them, or give them some love, I got it! I currently have a small min pin mix. She has lots of separation anxiety so I understand how tough it can be for some dogs who are away from their parents. Whatever your pet needs to be comfortable, just let me know! I work remotely which means I’ll be home for most of the day. For drop in visits, I’m available after 3:30 pm most weekdays and anytime on weekends. I work from home so I will be able to give your dog plenty of attention. I would also be happy to drop by your home to visit, feed, or take your pet outside.
