About: I know how important it is to find someone you trust with your dog, because they are not “just a pet.” They are family. Whether you need dependable everyday care or someone to step in for a last-minute dinner date, I’m your gal, Val! I have spent much of my life caring for and working with dogs. My mother is a dog groomer by trade, so I grew up in a shop, knew our local shelter techs and vets, and even got to shadow veterinary surgical procedures as early as middle school. I am comfortable following detailed care instructions, using specialized collars and harnesses, reinforcing established training routines, and caring for dogs with very different needs and personalities. I am patient with teething puppies, cautious rescues, high-energy pups who would rather walk me, and sweet senior “old geezers” who need a gentler pace or extra support for conditions like hip dysplasia. I understand that puppies need consistency, supervision, and positive reinforcement, while senior dogs may need medication schedules, mobility accommodations, and a little more patience. I also genuinely love big dogs, including the ones who think they are lap-sized (adorable, but factually incorrect). Most importantly, I treat every dog as an individual. Whether your pup needs an adventure buddy, a calm and reassuring presence, or someone who can confidently manage a detailed routine, I will make sure they feel safe, understood, and thoroughly loved. I work from home, so I have plenty of flexibility to give your pup lots of attention, playtime, walks, and companionship throughout the day. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I love having a furry coworker nearby. I can easily accommodate regular potty breaks, feeding schedules, exercise, and plenty of affection. I want every pet to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. I follow each pet’s usual feeding, walking, medication, and bedtime routines as closely as possible. I provide lots of playtime, affection, enrichment, and outdoor breaks based on their energy level and personality. I am also happy to send regular photos and updates, so you can relax knowing your pet is having a great time.

“Just got back with Cynthia as our dog walker when she moved back to the area. She is great with Dingo and he listens to her very well. They have a good relationship and he trusts her. Very happy to have her back!”

“I was frantically looking for someone to drop in and walk my two dogs super last minute, and Kaitlyn saved the day. She followed instructions and was able to handle my big German Shepherd and smaller Shepherd. I am grateful to have found her and would definitely request her again - thank you, Kaitlyn!”

“As always, Alyssa takes absolutely wonderful care of our kitties when my husband & I are out of town. She is kind, attentive, & caring. Thank you for being the best, Alyssa!”

“Daisy took wonderful care of our two cats, Leaf and Nugget, for seven days while we were away. We reached out on fairly short notice, and she was incredibly accommodating and easy to work with from the start. She was professional, reliable, and very kind throughout the entire week. We came home to two happy, well-cared-for cats, which gave us great peace of mind while we were traveling. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about animals and treats them as if they were her own. We couldn’t be happier with the care she provided and would absolutely recommend Daisy to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter. We look forward to having her watch Leaf and Nugget again in the future!”

“Janet did an amazing job taking care of my cat Theo! She is everything you would want in a cat sitter: responsible, communicative, and experienced. Even though my cat can be a little unpredictable, Janet handled everything like a pro and I never once worried about my cat when I was gone. Thanks Janet!”

“Thank you so much, Kim for dropping in and checking on our little Penny. She looked like she had a great time going outside with you! We really appreciate the way you cared for while we were away.”

About: I took care of my neighbors' pets during high school and all of them were satisfied with my care. They always felt comfortable leaving me with their pets while they were on vacation. I am going to be a full time paralegal student in May. I currently have a lot of time on my hands that I would like to spend making money to help pay for it! I look out for body language signs of distress from the pets I take care of and act accordingly. If there are specific things the owner wants me to do, I make those a priority. I always stayed respectful to the owners' home, making sure to leave it the way I found it.
“Emily did an AMAZING job caring for our dog and cat. She was very thorough in following our requested guidance and our animals were very well loved in her care. She also was a great communicator about when she would be coming by and took lots of photos. Everyone was very happy when we got back home. Thanks, Emily!”

“Callahan was wonderful as a cat sitter in every way! She responded right away and booked at very short notice. Our cat warmed up to her right away. Callahan sent great photos and communicated very thoughtfully and enthusiastically. We are really grateful and look forward to booking again with her!”

“Ashley was amazing! Personable and confident, she was great at taking care of my dog. She also went above and beyond to ensure that she could do drop-ins, even when various logistical problems on my end came up! I will definitely use her help again!”
“Devon did a great job with my doggo! She has great ideas for training that I haven’t thought of and she seems to naturally attuned to what he is thinking and what he needs. My dog is really odd, so this is not an easy feat. I’m really glad that I found Devon and I will definitely seek her help with Tucker long term!”

“She put up with my menace of a dog with grace! My dog in her words is a little spicy and has a tendency to throw tantrums when I’m not home. I appreciate her and she did great with my demon child!”

“I cannot rave enough about Gabi. I contacted her two days before we had to leave out of town for my daughter’s graduation. My sitter backed out last minute and I was beyond stressed. One of our babies was also recovering from surgery just a week prior so I couldn’t leave him just anywhere. Given Gabi’s background as a vet tech assured me she was the one I need to watch after my baby. Gabi replied fast and even coordinated a meet and greet for that same evening. When we met I knew instantly she was the one. I requested drop in visits and she was amazing with each visit. I got detailed information of how they were feeling, reacting, eating. She really went above and beyond. Gabi will definitely be my go to for future care of my babies!”

“Paige went above and beyond as a sitter for our cats. One of our cats began having urinary issues and she discovered spots of blood all over the house. She offered to take the cat to the vet on our behalf, but we were able to get home from our travel plans and take care of him ourself. She provided ample communications and safety for our cats.”

About: Does it have floof, skin, or scales? I LOVE IT! I have cared for others' animals as well as my own for over two decades. I've also worked as a volunteer animal caretaker at the Jacksonville Zoo, a volunteer diver at the South Carolina Aquarium, and I am the proud go-to animal sitter for many of my friends and family when they travel. Animals I have cared for cover a wide range of breeds, species, sizes, and ages from super young to super old and from 4lbs to 124lbs (my rottweiler, Grady the Bear, who lived to be 9 years old.) I am quite comfortable administering all types of medications and am very attuned to the animal's wellbeing. When in doubt, I will always air on the side of caution and seek professional help. I am comfortable training puppies (continuing the training that you have started and which you instruct me on) and also caring for special needs animals. Besides cats and dogs, I have cared for amphibians, reptiles, hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, and birds. I currently have two very chill cats that are experienced with living with dogs large and small. I live in a 2/2 condo in Mission Valley that offers a dog park up the street, an on-site potty station, walking trails on-property, and a patio with a view where my cats love to watch hummingbirds. Should your animal be kept inside, the room that will be theirs opens onto the patio and can be closed tightly or with a screen door. I also have a bathroom dedicated to animal care. I am happy to take your dog for trail runs, to the beach, to dog parks, or simply around the block! Cats are also welcome, although I must require them to be fixed. I have sat for people across the United States as well as in New Zealand and Australia. One of my hobbies is studying animal behavior in and out of the water. Safe to say, I'm just an animal lover and a completely animal geek. Additional reviews / testimonials available on Trusted Housesitters or by request ☺️ I work from home (........) and enjoy staying active throughout the day. I feed my animals regularly and can easily accommodate your animal's schedule, as routine is important, especially for animals away from home. The most I am away from home is 3-6 hours when I go freediving / spearfishing. If your animal cannot accommodate these longer periods, I will be there while they are staying with me. While staying with me, your animal will have their own: - room - litter box - scratching post - toys - bed - food and water bowls - bath (if needed) If your animal gets along with other animals, I am more than happy to give them open range in the condo (my cats are fine with it), however they will be confined to their crate or room (whichever you prefer) should I leave the house. For dogs specifically, I offer: - trail runs - walks - dog park trips - beach trips - baths - playtime + enrichment For cats, specifically, I offer - playtime + enrichment - daily litter box cleaning - basic grooming (nails, fur, and bath if they tolerate it) - walks (rare, but I have done it!) either in a backpack or on a leash For all animals: - all the snuggles, pats, scritches, and loves I will honor whatever routine you have set for your pet, including where they sleep, whether they are allowed on furniture, diet, schedule, etc. I am happy to administer medication if needed, and I encourage you to leave your veterinary information just in case.
“If i could give 10 stars i would! Very thankful for Halo because she is such an angel!!! She’s the best! Even goes above and beyond in taking care of my dog. Such a relief that I found someone trustworthy and caring who I can rely on 100%! Will definitely book her again and again! Thanks, Halo! ♥️”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Scripps Ranch
We were in a tough spot needing care at the last minute, and Rayan was willing to help. He took the time to come meet our dogs before we left, which I really appreciated. We have two dogs that require a little extra patience—one is reactive to other dogs, and the other still struggles with leash manners—so we know they’re not the easiest pets to watch. It’s always a little nerve-wracking explaining their challenges to someone new, but Rayan was very laid back about it and didn’t seem intimidated. It was reassuring to know they had someone looking after them while we were away.

Carly was awesome! Came over a few days in advance to meet the cats and hear the set up for the five days we were gone. We had no worries while we were away with Carly checking in on them and keeping their litter boxes clean and waters stocked. She sent a picture of both of them each check in and was communicative and reliable. Thanks Carly! Would definitely book again 😸😸
