About: I've taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 12. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets. We've plenty of time to play with your pups! It is important for us to know whether your pet gets along with other dogs and is friendly with kids. We would also want to know if your pet has a tendency to dig or chew on furniture or shoes so we can make the necessary accomodations. Also it’s important to know if your pet has any preexisting medical conditions and/or requires any medication or supplements to be administered We have a fenced in front and backyard. However, dogs are allowed both inside and outside our home. We also believe in taking dogs on multiple walks a day to give them the exercise they need.
“Maria watched my dog for a week at my home while we were on vacation. It was the first time that I left him with someone I didn't know. She helped make him feel comfortable and he did really well! She sent pictures and updates and responded to my questions promptly. She left my home neat as well! I would recommend and hire her again!”

“We could tell from the photos on Imma's profile that she has a special touch with dogs: every dog in the photos is smiling. Our dog Guapo is usually shy and nervous with strangers, but he went right up to Imma when she walked in and happily let her pet him. He was at ease while we were away for the first time. Imma was conscientious about sending us photos of him walking, getting a bath, and smiling from ear to ear. Usually, when we return home, he goes nuts, barking hysterically. This time, he was calm when we returned. When Imma said goodbye, he was ready to follow her out the door. He soon warmed up to us again, and we were happy knowing that he felt secure and cared for while we were away. We highly recommend Imma -- and hope that she will be available whenever we go out of town again.”
About: Hi, My name is Michael M. I just moved backed home to Miami. Since my first memories we have always owned dogs. My mom had a habit of picking up stray dogs. Her heart always broke when she saw a furry defenseless dog begging for food or needing shelter. My mom's big heart exposed me to many types of dogs all different sizes and temperament. I have been dog sitting for a while now and it's one of my favorite things to do. I am a realtor and I am able to work from home during the day while clients are working and when I am away it's for only a few hours at a time. I have a fenced yard. Like I said my dog loves social interaction with other friendly doggies and would love to find friends he could play with. I am a real estate agent with my office at home. I will be able to watch over them while they play.

“This is the second time Laura has stayed with our two pups, at our home, and we cannot thank her enough for taking such good care of them! She is so considerate and goes above and beyond. We were able to enjoy time away with our granddaughters without any worries. Thank you again Laura! Looking forward to our next vacay!”

“So grateful Dayelin was able to stay with our Teddy. She arrived on time and took amazing care of our little guy. She made sure he had his meals on time and that he was taken on lots of walks. We were given tons of pictures and Dayelin was impeccable with communication. This really helped put me at ease while being away from him for so long. 5 stars ⭐️”

About: Hello, I’m Jessavia H. I’m 24 years old and I love animals. I have a lot of experience with dogs myself. I had a healthy American Bulldog name Bella. She was my world. I plan to own my own chain of dog grooming company. I have been trained to handle dogs in any type of situations. I took a 2 month course on how to properly train and deal with any dog breed with any size. My intentions is to love and take care of your beautiful doggy. I will treat you dog like how I treat my princess. I will do any to please you and your dog. No matter what the request is I will accomplish it, there is no such thing as too big or too small. Not only do I have experience with dogs but I also had a Persian Cat for 3 years. His name was Gizmo but sadly he passed. Every animal loves me. And would do anything to make them comfortable. I’m in school to be a paramedic so I only do mainly school & gym, relatively home majority of the time to take care of your lovely pups! I’m in school to be a paramedic, usually only got to school 3 times a week and the rest is virtual. So I am relatively free. I have a fenced in yard and stay in a safe area where we can walk and play freely by the River with their toys.
“Luciana took great care of our dogs and home while we were traveling. She was super responsive via text, and kept us updated with photos. Our dogs were relaxed and happy when we returned. Highly recommend.”

About: I've owned pets since 2013 and often dogsit my friends' dogs if they're away for an event, a weekend, or even a week at a time. I lived in Barbados for 2 years, where there are dozens of stray animals roaming the streets. I took in and rehabilitated an orange cat (featured in my photos) that has been brought to the US and is happily living in NYC with her new family. I do not have any pets in my apartment at the moment- my dog, Honey, is across the country with my mom. I have so much love to give pets and enjoy spoiling pets with the attention they deserve. The qualities I have as a graduating medical student directly translate into my care for pets- being punctual, patient, and passionate. I'm a full-time medical student with a fluctuating schedule. My weekends are free for boarding, walks, etc., but weekdays depend on my schedule for the given month. Weekday work schedule typically starts at 7am, and my availability will most often start at 5pm (or earlier some days). When I am home, I integrate my pet into everything I do. I love their company on the couch, bringing them on my daily walks, and even the puppy eyes when I’m cooking. I live with my partner in a pet-friendly condominium on the 5th floor. We have a partially-fenced yard with grass surrounding the condo and a balcony with our unit. Our front door has a double key-lock, with no possibility of a pet escaping. It is a large, 2-bedroom condo with plenty of space to roam in the open-concept living room and kitchen. There's plenty of unobstructed room for pet belongings (food, toys, bedding, etc.). I do not have any other animals living in the unit, I do not have a crate, and I love animals sleeping in the room/bed with me (if owner allows).
“Brianna has been absolutely wonderful. This is the first time we’ve ever left our boys in the hands of someone else and are confident that they’ve been loved and cared for. Brianna is friendly, responsive, and very good at what she does. Our dog and cat loved her from the moment they met. I absolutely recommend her care and will be booking with her again in the future!”

I also ensure they get plenty of exercise and playtime, as well as adhere to any special dietary or medical needs they may have. “Nicole was the best with my baby Enzo! The whole time I felt completely at ease because she cared for him just as well as I would. I really appreciate how punctual she was, both for our meet and greet and on the day of the booking, which allowed me to leave home and catch my flight without any issues. She shared photos with me the entire time and was super transparent about her schedule, letting me know when she was with him or away from the house. She was very attentive to his routine and followed all the care instructions we gave her. She played with him, made sure he rested, and spoiled my little one. She went above and beyond our expectations, and Enzo loved her!”

Denys was wonderful with our two dogs who can be a little crazy. He stayed at our home while we travelled and took excellent care of Parker and Millie. He asked great questions ahead of time, sent some updates while we were away, and knew how to safely navigate any issues. Our house was also on great shape when we returned. Very trustworthy. Highly recommend!

Michelle was awesome. She took care of Dulce making her confortable with her, playing with her in the backyard and eventually with walks around the neighborhood. Dulce was her happy self when we came back. We look forward to Michelle taking care of Dulce again this coming April.

Amber did an amazing job taking care of our boys for our 2 weeks trip, first time we use a sitter for that long of a period but we didn’t have any concerns while we were overseas, she was very responsive even with a crazy 13 hours time zone difference. Will definitely keep booking Amber for our upcoming trips if she’s available.

Joalys was wonderful and communicated really well during the entire stay. This was my first time using the service to house sit and thankfully it worked out to be a great experience thanks to her. I highly recommend her services as she communicates really well and is great with animals.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Scott Lake walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Scott Lake maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Scott Lake choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Scott Lake. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
