About: “What sets me apart from other sitters is my experience and patience. I’ve owned and cared for my dog for over 10 years, so I’m comfortable with dogs of all ages. I’m skilled at potty training, keeping dogs on a routine, and making sure they stay active and well-fed. especially with my my dog passing recently. I will make it my priority to make sure others dogs are well taken care of. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I’m already used to caring for my own dog. I make time every day for feeding, walking, playtime, and bathroom breaks. I’m consistent with schedules, so adding another pet into my routine is no problem. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their instructions closely. I stick to the pet’s normal schedule, make sure they eat on time, take them on walks, give bathroom breaks, and spend time playing or keeping them company.

About: I take care of different type of animals and I care for them all deeply, such as, birds, hamsters, dogs, cats, and a bearded dragon. I started pet sitting with my wife where we gained experience working with puppies and kittens as young as 6 weeks old. I have worked with both dogs and cats that have special dietary needs and require medication. I have experience walking leash aggressive dogs and dogs that are less cooperative on walks. I also have experience working with children, my wife has worked in a daycare for over 5 years. Use promo code patrip73451 or use the link below for $40 off your first booking!! https://www.rover.com/sit/patrip73451 I am currently working a 9-5 job but my wife has more flexibility as she is a freelance photographer and full time pet sitter. If I’m not available then my wife would be available and vice versa. Actualmente estoy trabajando de 9 a 5, pero mi esposa tiene más flexibilidad, ya que es fotógrafa independiente y cuidadora de mascotas a tiempo completo. Si no estoy disponible, entonces mi esposa estaría disponible y viceversa. Me and my wife will make sure to give you constant updates of your pet throughout the day and I love to send a lot of pictures and videos 📸 🎥 My wife and I are impeccable at following a schedule and following instructions. We will make sure that your pet gets their routine walk and meal times and/or medications as scheduled. ✅ For the safety of dogs we make sure we avoid other unfriendly animals on walks. With leash aggressive dogs I’m strong and attentive enough to make sure they stay on the leash securely even when they are triggered. We are on top of communication and we will notify you about what me and your fur baby are up to. My wife and I will make sure to contact you immediately of any questions or concerns to prevent emergencies. Communication is how we build safety, trust, and environment. 🫶

“As always, Vanessa is second to none when taking care of our Doods and our home. She allows us to have a worry free trip every time. The photos and communication she sends daily give us great comfort. She treats our home and dogs as if it were her own. Thanks Vanessa.”

“This was my first time using River to house sit my 5 fur babies. I was scared to try it out and to trust someone who I didn't know but Ernesto was such a nice and genuine person not only to me and my family but to all my Doggies as well. He naturally has an aura to animals, and they loved him since day one. Ernesto knew it was my birthday and left me a beautiful detail on the table for me to see when I came back from my trip. Thank you Ernesto for all the love, communication, videos and photos of the doggies throughout the day and giving me peace of mind while I was away.”

“I had a fantastic experience with Macenna. She took such warm, attentive care of my dog—it was clear from the start that my pup felt comfortable and happy. I especially appreciated the regular updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. On top of that, my home was left spotless and well cared for. Highly recommend!”

About: I have a genuine, deep love for all pets in this world… mine have been the most important part of my life. When my baby kitty Lenny crossed the heavenly rainbow bridge last year, Gideon and Einstein rescued me. My focus is specific and consistent: “What does your best friend need? How can I provide this need to them? Is the environment low stress? Your fur babies are so important to me because I truly understand how important they are to YOU. Having no human children myself, believe me, fur babies are EVERYTHING! I put my absolute best effort into making sure your pet feels safe and experiences the least amount of anxiety as possible. I also assist with Senior day care cleaning, shopping etc. References upon request if needed. I am available to work five days a week and weekends if necessary. I’m grateful to have a flexible schedule; I’ve earned the trust to have access into peoples’ homes to care for their animals. I treat every single animal and pet as if they were my own. I make sure to have every day fulfilled with at least a little bit of furry affection or my day just isn’t the same! I have a pet-friendly, pet-safe, pet-happy home! Making sure all the fur babies in my home have what they need is “what I DO!” My sweet cat Gideon couldn’t get more nurturing! He’s very healthy, independent and gentle with his guests”! My philosophy with my home and my animals is: When in MY care, your baby’s safety, good health, and comfort is guaranteed in the anxiety-free environment I provide. About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, so caring for animals has always been a huge part of who I am. From a young age, I’ve been responsible for feeding, walking, playing with, bathing, and giving my dogs the love and attention they need. I’ve always formed incredibly strong bonds with my pets and genuinely see them as members of the family. More recently, I rescued a French Bulldog who has become my absolute best friend. She has taught me even more about being patient, attentive, and understanding of a dog’s individual personality, needs, and routines. I’m someone who pays close attention to the little things—whether your pet is feeling nervous, needs extra cuddles, has lots of energy, or simply wants someone to keep them company. When your pet is in my care, I want you to feel completely comfortable knowing they’re being treated with the same love, patience, and care I give my own dog. 🐾❤️ My schedule is flexible, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I’m able to accommodate walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting throughout the week, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. I’m very reliable and will always make sure your pet’s routine is followed as closely as possible. I’m also happy to provide regular updates, photos, and lots of love along the way! 🐾❤️ My goal is to make your time away stress-free while keeping your pet happy, comfortable, and cared for. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. 🐾 I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, preferences, and any special instructions before caring for them. I make sure they’re in a clean, safe, and comfortable environment where they can feel relaxed and loved. I’m especially mindful of doors, gates, leashes, food, medications, and anything else that could affect your pet’s safety. I also understand that every pet is different, so I never force interaction and always give them time to feel comfortable with me. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know how your fur baby is doing. My goal is for you to feel completely confident and at ease knowing your pet is being cared for like family. ❤️🐶

Tito was absolutely wonderful with my dogs! He took excellent care of them and treated them with so much love, attention, and patience. You can really tell that he genuinely loves animals and cares about their well-being. My dogs were very happy with him, and I had complete peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. I would definitely trust Tito with them again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring, responsible, and reliable pet sitter. Thank you so much, Tito, for taking such great care of them! 🐾❤️

Fiona was amazing with our fur babies. We went on an extended trip for our wedding and honeymoon. Fiona sent us video and picture updates that made us feel as ease during our travels. My bulldog even got himself a girlfriend, played so well with Luna. Fiona went above and beyond I would definitely love for her to watch our babies again.

Amber did an amazing job taking care of our boys for our 2 weeks trip, first time we use a sitter for that long of a period but we didn’t have any concerns while we were overseas, she was very responsive even with a crazy 13 hours time zone difference. Will definitely keep booking Amber for our upcoming trips if she’s available.

Joalys was wonderful and communicated really well during the entire stay. This was my first time using the service to house sit and thankfully it worked out to be a great experience thanks to her. I highly recommend her services as she communicates really well and is great with animals.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Norland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Norland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Norland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Norland. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
