About: My pup is a Catahoula Leopard named Kaya. She is deaf and trained with signs and gestures, and is calm and loving towards other animals and humans. I have had a lot of experience taking care, walking, bathing, and checking in on pets for my friends and family when they are out of town. I also have taken care of and given homes to a few furbabies or strays in need a new home. I have had dogs most of my life, including one that birthed two puppies that I took care of until they were old enough for their own homes. I have had 3 dogs that lived into old age that eventually needed extra love, care and medications so I'm practiced and patient and comfortable in helping any pet with their daily needs. Some times I am flexible and available outside of what I have here! I take them on walks with leashes and although my yard is fenced, I stand outside to make sure they don't get into anything unsafe. I keep a close eye on them during potty breaks and walk each dog depending on their needs. If I see another dog unleashed I walk in the opposite direction to avoid any issue.

About: i have lived with pets my whole life both cats and large dogs. currently we only have cats but I feel comfortable taking care of low maintenance dogs as well. i live in a house with multiple cat and have primary responsibility for some of them including litter box cleaning, grooming, feeding, watering, all basic needs. I have established routines for meeting these needs on a regular basis. I have also lived with dogs in the past and have basic care knowledge on them as well When boarding cats i will provide a separate quiet space to allow for both interaction and privacy. When caring for pets in your home I will try to mimic your routines as much as possible although that isn't always possible.

About: I've grown up around dogs and learned to take care of them since I was 11 years old with two beloved Labradoodles, Mackenzie and Poppy. Knowing each of them since they were puppies and like family members, I know exactly what they need to be healthy and happy. As a sitter with years of experience fostering animals from my local shelter "Small Miracles" in Ellicott City, I've made it my goal to show others pets just as much love that I've shown to my own dogs. As a student coming home from college for the summer, my schedule is wide open for pet care most days of the week, with only the occasional evening theatre rehearsal in my schedule creating any kind of conflict When caring for pets in my clients homes, I always make sure the pet feels comfortable around me before I approach them, always making sure that they're the one to initiate an interaction that lets them feel safe, while presenting myself as calm. I adore spending time and playing with animals in a safe environment.

“When the pet hotel where my cat usually boards was booked, I panicked. I had an unexpected trip out of state that couldn’t be rescheduled. I was encouraged to try other boarding options and one option was this site. I was EXTREMELY nervous to “pick” a random stranger online to (1) come into my home and (2) take care of my baby while I was away. At initial contact, she was very professional, responsive, and put me at ease. As I would be a new client, she asked to meet with me before agreeing to care for my cat. I appreciated that she wanted to meet me and my cat beforehand! That showed me that it wasn’t just about money, but also fit. We scheduled a home visit and that sealed the deal for me. She was kind, warm, friendly, and patient. Throughout my time away, she sent photos of my cat and daily progress updates that not only warmed my heart, but also made me feel at ease. This was a WONDERFUL first experience with Rover and I will definitely be using Yolanda again. She was awesome and I highly recommend her!”

About: I grew up with dogs and have been around them my entire life. I currently have a 4 year old German Shepherd mix named Akari who is the absolute love of my life. I just graduated from UMD with my Master's Degree in Education! I am currently in between jobs as I look for a full-time position and have plenty of time to play with all of the dogs! “Kristin was very patient with my stubborn cat, Zulu, warming up to her. During the initial meet-and-greet, I could tell she was a “cat person” based on his interactions with her. She took great care of Zulu during our long weekend getaway — giving him food and water, cleaning his litter box, and playing with him. She even went above and beyond carrying in deliveries and taking our trash to the curb. I would recommend using Kristin and will be rebooking her in the future.”
