About: I love dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages, but I have the most experience with caring for adolescent to senior dogs. I have experience administering medication if necessary, and adhering to special diets per veterinary instruction. Pet care is my main job! I am fully dedicated to taking care your furry friend(s) and I'm fully available to meet you beforehand to ensure we're a good team! I am more than happy to spend time with your pet, whether that means playing, feeding, or just hanging out. Your fur baby will be safe and in great hands!
About: For two years, I’ve cared for friends’ dogs through walks, drop-ins, and longer stays. I’ll make sure your pup gets the exercise, attention, and care they need while keeping you updated every step of the way. I am more than happy to spend weekends with your pets so you can go and have weekend away and know they are well taken care of! For dogs, I always make sure they are hydrated and fed first (unless there is a specific routine) then we go into a walk and some play if they’re up to it! For the cats, I make sure they’re hydrated and fed usually after a play session so they feel satisfied and can rest easily.
“Kristen was amazing with our Puppy! She is kind and loving and Tucker had the best time with her. Her pictures are gorgeous and I loved getting the updates throughout the day. I will definitely use her again!”

“Wonderful experience. This is the second time we had Valerie stay at our home to watch our pups for an extended stay. Valerie kept us informed daily about how the dogs were doing and followed all of our instructions perfectly. She left our home in perfect condition. Thank you Valerie. Until next time….”

“Samantha was great! We had an unique petcare request and she was exceptionally accommodating. She sent us updates and photos and our little guy was well taken care of. We highly recommend her to other Rover-subs.”

About: I have been looking after my own dog as well as dogs in my neighborhood for around 3 years now! I have walked dogs, fed them, watched over them, and most importantly, showered them with cuddles and kisses. I cannot imagine my life without my dog so I understand what a privilege and responsibility it is to look after yours. I look forward to getting to know you and your pup! :) I am currently a full time student at Hofstra University so I can help mostly on weekends. Please be mindful that I am a student and that I have classes Monday through Thursday, but that I am willing to help whenever I can :) I promise to always respect your requests as a pet owners, care deeply for whatever pet I watch over, and be conscientious of what the dog needs at the current moment.

“Sarah was absolutely amazing. I have never been able to go away without worrying who would be around to feed and let out my dogs let alone worrying about them being alone all night. She kept me updated on how they were doing and sent pictures. My babies absolutely love her! She did not disappoint!”

“what a wonderful first time experience our dogs had with Victoria! she showed her expertise immediately when meeting our two for the first time. our little one (6mos) warmed up to her right away and our older dog (6yrs) would not stop wagging his tail. they were well taken care of while we were out and we received updates and pictures throughout her stay. Victoria has a pleasant personality and is very personable. she is articulate and easy to talk to and truly enjoys taking care of your pets. we highly recommend her to anyone interested in her services and would not hesitate to use her again.”

About: I've lived with pets all my life, my family rescued Great Pyrenees so I am comfortable with large breeds, as well as animals in the process of being rehabilitated. I customize every visit to match your pet's precise physical and emotional needs. I am diligent regarding medication schedules, monitoring for subtle signs of discomfort or health changes, and adapting the environment to keep mobility impaired pets safe and comfortable. I'm a local law student so I am available anytime that I do not have class. Pet care is a welcome study break for me. For puppies, I focus heavily on consistency and foundation building. I reinforce crate training schedules, practice polite leash walking, and use positive reinforcement to support your ongoing obedience and socialization goals, ensuring your puppy's training never skips a beat while you're away. For senior pets and animals with chronic medical conditions, I bring a calm, patient presence combined with medical vigilance.
“The dogs look to have been well taken care off. Michelle was responsive, sent updates and left the house clean. She even assisted with workers when we had to have unexpected housework done while away - much appreciated.”

“Amy was the best, we are so lucky to have found her! She took care of our large dog Luna who is very sweet but also doesn't know her own strength sometimes. Amy is great at handling all sizes of dogs. She kept us informed every day and took good care of our house too. We (including Luna) highly recommend!”

About: Hello! My name is Gianna, as a pet owner myself of a reptile, and dog, I am eager to provide the best care possible. In the past, I have volunteered for North Shore Animal League America where I worked with animals from all walks of life. In my time there I had to get down and dirty between cleaning cages, and caring for sick animals. I have experience with all types of smalls animals (reptiles, hamsters, guinea pigs, etc), along with large and small dogs alike. In the past I have provided care for senior animals who require consistent medication, along with lively young dogs who enjoy exercising and lots of play time. While I do work full-time outside of pet-sitting, my job offers extreme flexibility, and I am happy to accommodate your pets needs whether that just be someone to snuggle with for the evening, or an all day companion. I am happy to provide any references upon request My current job is pretty flexible so whether your animal prefers someone home all the time, or is used to being alone for a typical work day, I am happy to accommodate (rates may vary). I like to remain pretty strict to whatever routine the animal may already have set to avoid disrupting their flow. While I do offer in-home boarding, I ask for an in person meet with my dog and cat prior to boarding just to ensure compatibility. I have a dog named Cheese and a cat named LeeLee who are both rather to themselves and pay one another no mind. If providing boarding your animals will be treated like one of my own.
“Amazing! Jenny jumped in for an overnight in a pinch and it proved to be the best thing for my pup. She was super engaged (walking him and playing fetch), very warm and sent frequent updates and pics. My pup was very happy and he's looking forward to seeing her again!”

We’re very thankful for Gianna taking care of our girl on a last minute request. She was very accommodating! We have a dog who has some separation anxiety and Gianna followed our requests for her care well! She also came to meet us before our trip and we were thankful she was able to swing a home visit prior (and again so last minute!!). Thank you Gianna!!

Jessica did a great job taking care of our large, goofy dog and cats. She was a great communicator and kept us in the loop with photos and videos throughout her stay. We felt confident in leaving our pets and house under her care. We highly recommend her and will rebook with her when needed next time.

Valerie once again took great care of our three doggie cousins. We booked her stay at our house for 10 days for our trip to Europe and came home to a perfectly clean house and very happy dogs. Val checked in multiple times a day by sending cute photos and updates of the dogs. I highly recommend hiring Valerie. She is a very caring and responsible pet sitter.

Sonia stayed over at our house for 4 nights and was wonderful. My dog felt safe and calm with her. The house was exactly how we left it. She was very kind and nice and responded to text messages almost immediately. I would definitely recommend her to others. Overall everything was great!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Salisbury on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 18,394 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Salisbury. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Salisbury walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Salisbury maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Salisbury choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
