About: I never realized how hard it was to find someone to visit my fur babies until I started visiting colleges with my family. Even though it was only for a few days at a time I found it difficult to find a cat sitter. I will be an empty nester and I would love to fill my extra time helping others in need of a cat sitter. I have had cats since I was a child. I’m currently on my 7th cat. I have had a dog, fish, mice, gerbils, parakeets, and salamanders, but cat’s have always been my favorite. I understand the importance of making sure your fur babies are happy and safe when you are away. I can share photos so that you can enjoy yourself when you are away from the most lovable creations on this earth. I have experience with senior cats, as well as handling cats that are fearful and scared.

About: My first job was as a dog walker when I was 12! I have grown up with cats and dogs - caring for them from puppies/kittens through to their golden years. I have also dog/house sat for a large rescue + their several senior cats! My goal is to get to know each pet I interact with so that me and your pet can enjoy our time together. Furry friends are family and I treat them as such. I have also volunteered at 2 different rescues over the past several years helping care for cats as well as walk and play with dogs of all ages. I am currently finishing my last year of medical school so my schedule is not completely free. However, I do typically have evenings, weekends, and a random day off during the week! I get my current schedule 1 month at a time and am happy to accommodate outside my scheduled hospital shifts. I am very respectful of others rules for their home and their pets. I am a tidy person who hates messes in my own home so wouldn't leave them in anyone else's.

About: Hi! I'm a wildlife biologist, and I've spent most of my life taking care of animals — in a veterinary setting, on wildlife conservation projects, and growing up in my own home with my family pets. I work as a full-time biologist during the spring/summer, and will have open availability over the fall, winter, and spring to help with your pet care needs! I started out as a kennel technician at a veterinary hospital, where my days were cleaning dog kennels and cat cages, feeding and watering, walking dogs, giving oral and topical medications, holding animals for exams, and keeping daily records on everyone in our care. This job is where I learned how to understand an animal’s body language, and how to adjust my own to make sure they feel safe. Since then I've graduated from university and have worked as a field biologist for state and federal agencies, most recently monitoring endangered shorebirds at Jones Beach State Park here on Long Island. Along the way I provided daily care and feeding for state-owned horses in Oregon, and I've handled, banded, and released wild birds across four different groups — songbirds, raptors, waterfowl, and doves. If you have a bird and you get nervous about leaving them, let’s chat. I’d be happy to care for any feathered family members! At home I've kept lizards, snakes, birds, and aquariums of my own, so I'm comfortable with things like heat gradients and UVB, humidity, feeding schedules that aren't daily, and water parameters and filtration. What I offer: • Dog walking, drop-in visits, and overnight stays in your home • Cats, including shy ones and multi-cat households • Medication administration, oral and topical • Senior pets and pets with medical needs genuinely welcome • Birds, reptiles, and aquariums • Photos and a real update after every visit • CPR and First Aid certified I’m always happy to do a free meet-and-greet first. I'd love to meet you and your crew! Currently, I have open availability from 10 am - 9 pm 7 days a week for drop ins and walks. For overnight stays, I am available anytime with 1-2 days notice. Before the first visit I do a free meet-and-greet. I want to see where everything lives — food, leash, litter, carrier, cleaning supplies — and I write the routine down rather than trusting my memory: feeding times and amounts, medications, which treats are allowed, how your dog behaves on a walk, and anything that frightens them. I also want your vet's name and number and a backup contact before I'm ever in the house alone. The thing I'm most careful about is doors. I come and go deliberately, I know where every animal is before I open anything, and I never leave a door propped. Dogs stay leashed the entire time they're outside with me, with no off-leash exceptions unless you've asked for it specifically. I give Medication exactly as written, at the time you've specified, and I confirm each dose with you. I don't adjust a dose or skip one because an animal is being difficult — I'll message you instead. Following written protocols precisely is most of what my professional work has been, in a veterinary hospital and in the field, and I treat your instructions the same way. I pay attention and I report: appetite, water, litter box or bathroom habits, energy, and anything that looks off. If something seems wrong I'll contact you right away. If it looks like an emergency and I can't reach you, I'll get your pet to your vet or the nearest emergency clinic and keep calling. And I look after the house. I clean up after your pet and after myself, I keep your keys and door codes private, I don't bring anyone with me, and I leave the place better than I found it. You'll get photos and a short real update after every visit. I also welcome any feedback, as that helps me do a better job in the future!

About: I have been looking after my own dog as well as dogs in my neighborhood for around 3 years now! I have walked dogs, fed them, watched over them, and most importantly, showered them with cuddles and kisses. I cannot imagine my life without my dog so I understand what a privilege and responsibility it is to look after yours. I look forward to getting to know you and your pup! :) I am currently a full time student at Hofstra University so I can help mostly on weekends. About: I have been around dogs for most of my life, having owned two dogs from ages 6-20, and I have since gained hands-on experience caring for pets with a wide range of personalities, ages and needs. I’ve pet sat for both cats and dogs, including caring for four cats and two dogs at once, managing litter boxes, wet and dry food routines, playtime and plenty of attention and affection. I also have experience administering oral medications and eye drops to dogs. One experience especially that sets me apart is caring for a Catahoula Leopard dog who was paralyzed in her hind legs, which involved expressing her bladder and assisting with her mobility alongside caring for another dog in the home. I’m comfortable with puppies as well, having provided drop-in care for a golden retriever at both 3 months and 6 months old, as well as extended dog and house sitting for a 2-year old golden retriever. Across my pet-sitting experience, I’ve provided regular walks, baths, light grooming, feeding, playtime and lots of one-on-one attention. I understand every pet has their own routine, personality, and level of care, and I’m comfortable providing everything from my everyday companionship to more hands-on care for pets with special needs. I attend MCAT prep classes on Sunday and Tuesday evenings, but outside of those times, I can easily plan my studying around your pet’s needs. I have experience house sitting and pet sitting for many families, and I always treat each home with the same care and respect I would want someone to show my own. I carefully follow any instructions you provide regarding your pet’s routine, safety, feeding, medications, and household needs. My only request is to be shown where basic cleaning supplies are kept (accidents happen, and that’s completely normal!). I want you to come home to a space that is just as clean, if not cleaner, than when you left it, and most importantly, to a pet who has been safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

I’m a teacher in Freeport and live in Wantagh, so I have a flexible schedule outside of the school day. I’m available on weekends and school breaks, and I can often stop by before or after work (my workday is 9 AM–4 PM). I’m happy to work with your schedule to help keep your pet’s routine consistent and make sure they receive plenty of attention and care. I have a fenced-in yard and two sweet, friendly cats of my own. I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and loved in their environment. However, my weekends are more open, so I have more availability to stop by and visit with your pups! While visiting with your pet, I will keep an eye on them during walks and potty breaks, making sure they are secure on their leash and in their yard.
