“Mikayla helped me out when I was stranded in town for a funeral during a blizzard and my pre-arranged sitter canceled at the last minute. She sent me frequent photos and updates, and both pooches came back healthy and happy! Thank you so much for your help!”

“Words can’t describe how much my husband & I are satisfied with choosing Kelsey to watch our little Roxiie while we were on vacation . She’s very fast at replying , sent us pictures every day of our puppy but most of all bonded & cared for Roxiie like if she was part of her family. She is very kind & cares a lot !!! This was our first time having someone take care of our puppy & thankfully we were blessed with an amazing person to take care of her. She is DEFINITELY our 1st choice from now on! Thank you again so much Kelsey . ❤️”

About: Hi! I’m a middle school teacher, mom to 4 busy kids, and dog mom to ‘Jersey’ our mixed rescue. My house is a welcoming home away from home for your pup. Now that my kids are a bit older, I have a lot of time to give to your pup in the summer and would treat them like my own. I LOVE getting outdoors and walking as much as my legs can allow. Summer break allows for our family of six to enjoy the neighborhood. I have the flexibility to be home daily. Although my children are in multiple activities, I am always close to home. I will be out and about quite often driving kids to different places, but are never gone for more than a few hours. I am able to leave and take your pup for a quick walk multiple times a day, or welcome them into our house over the course of a couple days. My house has a fenced in yard in a nice family neighborhood. Our dog has her base camp on our upper level den, but we have a safe and separate area for your pet in our lower level that will be all theirs! I will walk multiple times daily and care for your pet as my own. My family has lots of love and cuddles to give if needed, but if your pup is more of a recluse, they can adjust accordingly!
“Meg was amazing with our Jasper! We could tell he had a great time with her and got his own little vacation while we were on ours! She was great at communicating with us and kept us updated every day on how he was doing! I was able to fully relax and put my mind at ease seeing the cute picture updates on his adventures throughout the day and knowing that he was being loved and well taken care of while we were away!”

“Regan is amazing! We received pictures and updates every day that our dog stayed with her. She took him for walks, brought him outside a lot to play, and gave him lots of cuddles. We were so happy to see how well taken care of our dog was at the end of our trip!”

“We are so happy with the great care Amanda gave our Bella. We felt our vacation was better because Bella was getting such great care. Photo updates helped us to relax and know she was doing well. We will definitely have Amanda take care of her again!”

“Kristi was very personable with us and River. She provided pictures and information on a little spat that took place in her care. Nobody was hurt and I believe each other was respectful of each other's space after that. We would differently use her boarding services in the future if she will have us. I appreciate that she was available on such short notice.”

“Our dog Miles was welcomed into their home immediately. He was loved and well cared for. Thomas was an excellent communicator and was committed to providing top notch service. We will definitely take Miles back!”

“Cindy was super nice! Also made sure we got lots of pictures and video of our puppy! Would recommend her to anyone. She was also very responsive with messages and coordinating everything! If we need it again we will definately be checking with her first!”

“Kelsey was absolutely incredible. She took on my three dogs like it was nothing. Having three dogs sometimes intimidates people, but those fur babies are part of the family. She kept in communication up until I dropped the dogs off in her care. She was compassionate, and welcomed them into her house with open arms. She was updating me, and sending pictures of there fun adventures! We can’t wait to bring them back again!”

“Ashley was amazing! She made sure that our dog, Louie, would get along with her dogs first before watching him! We met at a dog park and let our dogs mingle! She took the time to let us know how Louie was doing and even sent pictures of him, which we loved! He's a pooped pup after leaving there so I know he had fun!”

“Thank you Karlee for taking care of Carmen! Carmen travels with us a lot and it’s so helpful for us to have a safe place for her stay when we are away from home and have non dog activities planned.”

About: I've been caring for animals since I was in 6th grade when I'd regularly animal sit for one of my neighbor's Bernese Mountain Dog, 3 cats, and 2 bunnies. Since then, I've become a dog trainer and can deal with a wide variety of dogs, including dogs with additional care needs. I'm an AKC evaluator and I spend my free time competing with my dogs in a variety of sports! I take special care and pride in the animals I care for. I believe that a well exercised pet is going to be an easier companion and leads to a much happier family life. I have 3.5 acres for your pet to romp around. This will include things like loose leash walking, distraction training, and more. Mental stimulation will tire your dog out faster than physical stimulation so this exciting mixture will leave you with a very happy pup! Of course, if you prefer no training, I'm happy to go along with what you prefer! Lastly, I try my best to create the best relationship with the animals I care for. This means I want your furry friend to love me as much as I love them. I prefer to meet your pet and at least one owner of your pet before continuing into a service. This isn't a requirement, but a strong preference. Especially for extended stays. I work hybrid so I spend 50% of business days working from home. On the weekends, I don't have to go in-office. My entire life revolves around my dogs and adding your pet into our routine will be an easy transition! I have an unfenced yard on 3.5 acres. I have 5 of my own dogs. My dogs will crate and rotate indoors with your pet depending on their needs. I prioritize putting dogs together that I'm confident will get along. All of my dogs are friendly and play together easily. I can also put your dog on a separate schedule so they're not interacting with any other pets during their stay.
“Olivia was amazing. We traveled for a week and my dog had a blast. Awesome yard to run around and a super cozy dog spot for overnights. Olivia shared texts and photos and was so kind and chill! I appreciate her so much and would highly recommend.”

“Here’s the updated review: I was so nervous leaving Riggs with someone outside of family for the first time, but Rachel made the entire experience wonderful! She was incredibly responsive and clear about what to expect, which made me feel so much more at ease. Throughout the week, she was communicative, sent me pictures of Riggs, and listened carefully to all of my instructions. Rachel went above and beyond to make sure Riggs was comfortable—she took him on walks, gave him plenty of attention, and truly cared for his needs, including helping ease his anxiety. It was obvious that he absolutely loved being with her! This was my first time using Rover, and Rachel made it such a positive experience. I will definitely be booking with her again in the future!”

“Kari & family made sure that Toby felt comfortable before I even left. She sent timely updates and questions to make sure that Toby received the best care possible while we were apart. Will definitely use her again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
