“Meredith was so great at keeping me informed and sending pictures of my pup while we were away on our trip. She seems to really know a lot about dogs and I love the fact that she has veterinary tech experience and dog training certification! My pup was very happy there and I will certainly use Meredith again!”

“Julia did a wonderful job caring for my two cats for five days. She’s very knowledgeable about cat behavior and kept me updated with messages and pictures, which gave me great peace of mind. She was also kind, flexible, and easy to communicate with. I would definitely book her again!”

“Jonna took AMAZING care of our Blaike. Her and her family were gentle, attentive, caring, loving, and kind to her. They helped ease her anxiety, made sure she was always comfortable and secure, and gave her so much love, rubs, and affection. They truly treated her like a member of the family. We will absolutely be utilizing her Boarding services for our next trip, and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone needing a sitter. Thank you so much Jonna!!😊❤️❤️❤️”

“I almost don't want to leave a review because I don't want everyone finding out what an amazing dog caregiver Samantha is! I cannot rave enough about her communication, competency, and genuine love of animals. I had zero anxiety leaving my dog child with her. I'm actually excited to plan trips again knowing that Riesling has a safe and comfortable place to be.”

“Dana is AMAZING!!! Skylar has such a fun time at her house and she made new friends. Dana sent us pictures and updates of our Skylar everyday which I loved to see. I would definitely refer her to everybody around and also will contact her again if we happen to need someone to watch Skylar again. Five stars!!!”
“Erika did a fantastic job caring for our dogs. Since this was our first vacation in several years, I was nervous about leaving them for an extended period. Lincoln, our senior, requires multiple medications and supplements, and Bella struggles with separation anxiety. Erika and Ryan were so reassuring during the meet-and-greet that I felt at ease immediately; seeing Bella flip over for belly rubs was the best sign! While we were away, we received photo and video updates twice a day. I loved her comments and how she picked up on our dogs personalities 😊 It was clear the dogs were happy, enjoyed their numerous walks, and was never left alone. I’m so grateful to have found Erika and Ryan —they truly understood our dogs' needs and gave them so much love!”

About: Hi! My family has had dogs my whole life and I currently have a dog myself, she is 4 years old. While i’m newer to pet sitting, I’m responsible, patient, and committed to making sure your pet feels safe and comfortable. I already take daily walks as part of my routine, so caring for pets fits in very naturally. I enjoy having a dog join me—it makes the time more enjoyable while ensuring they get consistent, relaxed exercise. For dog walks, I make sure they get safe, relaxed exercise during my daily walking time. I pay attention to their pace, energy level, and comfort, and I always keep them on a secure leash. At my home, I have a fenced-in yard where dogs can safely spend time outside for potty breaks and fresh air. I make sure they are always supervised and safe while outdoors.
“Every time I need care for my pets, I choose her again and again. She always keeps me updated about my pets, and that makes me feel calmer and more comfortable. Plus, she's always available when I need her.”

“Frida was an absolutely phenomenal sitter and so sweet and loving to our dog Blaike. She treated her with warmth, kindness, and patience. Her dogs were loving and playful with our dog and welcomed her with open paws! Frida provided many updates with pictures and videos and let us know how thoroughly she was being cared for and enjoying her stay. Frida truly treats your dog like family and I highly recommend her as your sitter! We will absolutely be booking her for our next trip. Thank you so much Frida!!”

“I couldn’t be happier with the care my fur babies received while I was away from Emily, her sons, and their pup Gertie! She's incredibly attentive and has a genuine love for animals. I received daily updates with photos, videos and notes of their daily adventures. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter! She is so kind and loving to our dogs.”

About: My husband and I are frequently taking care of our grand pups! Both 4 years old. We treat them like our own. One’s a chocolate lab, the other is a dachshund. I am an early riser. I get my morning exercise done then am pretty free the rest of the day. With the exception of an occasional appointment here and there. We do not have a fenced yard but would do daily walks. We have a path near our home. We also have lots of dog toys.
About: Friendly, warm, and welcoming. I have plenty of indoor and outdoor space to roam in my home plus a fenced in backyard. I've had dogs in the home since I was child and have been caring full-time for my dog for 7 years. I have previous experience with in-home boarding for some of my co-workers and have cared for dogs with nervous bladders. I currently work full time, but am always home in the evenings for plenty of playtime and walks. I can be flexible with pick up and drop off times with at least a day's notice to work with your schedule. I have a fenced in yard and plenty of space to roam inside my home. Dogs are welcome on the furniture or in bed if they need some extra cuddle time. I can crate your dogs if needed during the day and my own pup is crate trained for while I'm away.

Please message me with any questions... Prices will depend on number of animals and time spent doing chores/house Work etc... I personally own a Doberman named Diesel who is the sweetest thing, I’m able to drop her off at my parents when I’m needed for in home house sitting over night in your home. Well mannered dogs are welcome in my home as well for boarding and doggie daycare with my boy Diesel. I am currently working as a veterinary technician on Thursdays. I can usually give plenty of breaks if needed the rest of the week as I am off. Safety is my main priority when watching your pet in your home. I look forward to giving your pet the best experience possible when you are away, which may include walking on a leash, letting them out in a fenced in yard or dropping off for play time at day care.
About: We have had a dog or dogs for over 20 years. My husband and I both grew up with dogs as well. Our two dogs have been with us since they were puppies and both of them attended three levels of dog training classes. I work part-time very early in the morning and we spend a lot of time at home because my kids are homeschooled. There is usually always someone at home. I will do as much as I can to accommodate the dog owner’s preference in care for their dog. We have two dogs that can play with your dog. If your dog needs to be in a crate I can accommodate that. Our dogs are not allowed on the couches and chairs but my children do let them sleep in their beds.

She did great and I love that she put in the effort to meet Bear before she actually committed to taking her overnight. I would’ve loved more updates and pictures during her stay though. Other than that she was great and she took Bear a little longer than expected with no problems.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
