About: I love dogs and have enjoyed working with them in many capacities since I was a child and formally for over 15 years. I am a Canine Good Citizen evaluator and have spent years training loving companions. I am certified in Canine CPR and First Aid by the American Red Cross and undergo annual recertifications to stay current on the latest first-aid procedures. I also have experience administering both oral medications and injections. Before your pups stay, we have each family fill out a form for their furry companion. This helps us get to know them better in order to make their stay easier. I have no breed preference and are familiar with handling working canines. Your pup is welcome in our home, and our couch is open to your furry pooch. However, I also understand there are dogs who prefer to be outside and are not easily accommodated indoors. I also have covered outdoor runs for those families who still need a vacation but whose pups enjoy more fresh air and natural surroundings. I am happy to accommodate each family's preference. No matter what, canines are treated to lots of exercise and playtime. I wake up and start the day off with morning let out. After each group has been let we come back in for feeding. Morning feedings normally allow for 30-45 minutes before letting out again for a potty break. They are brought back in, crated, and pups are rotated out for play inside throughout the day. I let out every 2-4 hours through the day or more if needed. I do have the option to add on trail walks for those who have social canines who are good with other dogs and people (I will not be introducing them to others but it is a requirement to the trail). In the evening we normally do the last feeding at 7 pm followed by yard play and starting to settle in. Last potty break is at 10 pm. Note: Although I am at home full time I do on occasion leave our home to run errands. Your dog can be left alone for up to 4 hours (max). If this is ever the case your pup will always be crated and secure. For your pup's safety They are never given free rein while unsupervised. I take the safety of your furry companion very seriously. Canines are let out for potty breaks every 2-4 hours (or as needed, if required more frequently). I have a fenced-in yard so your pup will be safe during potty breaks. I do not allow companions from other families to play with each other. This is a safety measure. Your pup can be under a lot of stress when you're gone and I want to make their stay as smooth and relaxing as possible. This doesn't mean I will not be playing with your pup ourselves! I love playing fetch, puzzle games, and even tug with them. I do allow for several outings in the house throughout the day so they can get plenty of one-on-one attention inside as well as extra pets. I have 5 acres that are attached to the national preserve. If your furry companion is social and enjoys walks, I have several trails I am happy to take them on upon request (weather permitting). All outings are on leash only.

About: Hi there! I’m a lifelong animal lover who’s had dogs my entire life—and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I adopted Remington and Mitra, two wonderful mixed-breed brothers, six years ago. They’re full of love, energy, and just the right amount of drama. Our youngest is Copper, a goofy, lovable bloodhound who’s just turning one and keeping us all on our toes. I’m very comfortable with large breeds and active dogs, and I frequently host visits from the neighborhood pups, too. I also care for a bearded dragon and have experience with reptiles and birds—so no matter the species, I’m here to make sure your pets feel happy, safe, and loved while you’re away. I’d love to help with quick check in to make sure water bowls are full and little walks or runs in the backyard as needed Your pet’s safety is always my top priority. At home, I use kennels appropriately to ensure structure and safety—especially during mealtimes or when dogs need space to decompress. I closely monitor interactions between pets and always follow your care instructions to make sure your animal feels secure, calm, and well cared for.

About: Hi, My name is Debbie and I would love to care for your dog(s) and/or cat(s). I am a lifelong animal lover. I currently share my home with 2 dogs and 4 cats, so I am comfortable with multi-pet households and all the fun (fur) that comes with them. One of my favorite things to do is volunteer at a local animal shelter where I walk the dogs and help care for them. I enjoy getting to know animals of all ages, from playful puppies and kittens to calm, senior pets who just want to a snuggle buddy. I am experienced giving medication, and I always take the time to get to know your pet’s unique personality, routines, and needs. I will be here to make them feel safe and happy while you are away. I work remotely with a flexible schedule, which means I can easily accommodate feeding times, medication, litter box and other clean ups, and cuddle time. When caring for your pets , I will treat your space with the same respect and care I give my own. I will follow your instructions closely to maintain your pets routine. In addition to caring for your pet(s), I will update you regularly with photos and messages so you never have to wonder how things are going.

“Emily was such a great help! We needed someone to walk our dog while we were away for a wedding and our pup Lou was happy and healthy when we returned. This was our first time working with Emily, but she coordinated a meet and greet earlier in the week to meet us and get the details for taking care of Lou. We will definitely use Emily again in the future!”

About: My family has owned dogs since long before I came along. And thus, I've taken care of everything from chihuahuas to goldens and working line german shepherds. I started caring for them myself when I was about five and haven't stopped since. I've raised multiple litters of puppies, assisted in dog training, given both injections and oral medicine daily, and am capable of caring for anything from new born puppies to elderly dogs. ITS SUMMER BAYBEEE!! Classes are finally out so chances are i'll be free to spend time with your lovely critters while you're out of town!! I can't do boarding at my house due to already having five pups that might not get along with yours, but I can do any kind of care needed at your place! I can play and keep them near like I do with my dogs, I can feed, give medicine, clean up after them, crate them, whatever's necessary! Just tell me how you want it done!

About: I have been around dogs and cats my entire life. I am confident and comfortable with all ages and temperaments. Growing up, I cared for multiple pets at once (dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, etc.) I also spent time helping out on farms. Therefore, I am no stranger to routine, responsibility or muddy paws! What truly sets me apart is that my mom is a veterinarian, which gives me 24/7 access to expert guidance if an emergency or health question/concern arises. In addition, during my Marine Corps service, I have done dog sitting at the U.S. Embassy in Botswana, where dependability was key. I am currently pursuing my master's degree in cybersecurity. Therefore, I am currently dedicating my time to my studies, which affords me the freedom to care for your pets anytime. Pet safety is my top priority. Whether I am watching your pets in your home or caring for them in mine, I keep all harmful foods and household items out of reach. Additionally, we only use veterinarian-approved treats and toys (with a vet in the family, I don't guess when it comes to safety). Your pets will get plenty of supervised playtime and outdoor activity, along with a calm structured environment to help them feel more at home. I am very respectful in others' homes and will always follow your care instructions to the letter, including feeding, routines, and any special needs or quirks.

About: My name is David, however I go by Dak. I am very much a dog person, much more so than a people person! My most recent experience in animal care was at Harbor Point Animal Hospital (5.5yrs) I was a Fear Free ELITE certified veterinary assistant, specializing in animals who needed a little extra care or attention. I spent a lot of time studying animal behavior and ways to alleviate stress and anxiety so I am well equipped if you pet has some anxiety. I am also well versed in medication admin, fluids, and elderly pet care/vital monitoring. Studies show that even a short 10 min relief from a boring day while you are at work, reduces the stress, anxiety, and the possibility for behavioral/destructive outbursts. I cant wait to take time to get to know you furry family member(s) and help them get some attention they need while you are working hard to provide, or need an extra hand during a busy week! I am currently working from home while my daughter is out of school. My day is very flexible so I can work around your pets needs! I care for your pets in your home the same way I care for mine in my home. First by observing and understanding their surroundings like fenced in yards, baby gates, kennels, etc.. all the things intended to keep your loved one safe. Second, I make sure I understand any special needs that your pet has whether it is a behavioral issue related to fear or anxiety, or your pet is elderly and needs a little extra help or monitoring. 3rd and finally with the same amount of respect i show my own. our pets are our family and I will always treat them as such.

About: I have had a deep passion for animals my entire life. My mom worked in a veterinary ER clinic in my home state of South Carolina and would bring me to work to help take care of the patients and boarders on weekends through my high school years. My aunt is a dog trainer who I also shadowed. I have fostered several dogs through their adoption process, from a puppy chihuahua to a senior Great Dane. I’m comfortable with giving medications, post operative care, and much more. Neighbors, friends, and family have all entrusted me with the care of their dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, and even fish (they need to eat while their people are away too!). I have taken some time away from Rover for a few years while working on my career, and moved across country to be closer to family, along with starting my own. We now have settled in Rowan County, NC and I am looking to help out fellow pet parents again! I would be available to come by on any day of the week from the times of 7-11am, 1-3pm and 6-9pm. I am pretty open during the day, these are time frames that I would be available for walks, drop in visits, feedings, etc. If other / additional times are needed we can chat and probably make it work. I keep all doors to outside closed and locked while in the home so no escapes are possible. The collar will be fitted properly and each walk will be leashed.

About: Hi! I’m Ava, a friendly, dependable, communicative, responsible, honest, and well-organized individual who has been adoring and connecting with animals all of her life. If you're looking for someone with knowledge, experience, passion, and a huge heart to take care of your loved one(s), look no further. I will go above and beyond for you and your pet(s)! I began pet sitting at the age of 13, thanks to a few handmade flyers I'd posted around town; however, according to family, I started letting our dogs out to potty just about as soon as I was able to walk to the door, still in diapers. I grew up and live on a small farm in Gold Hill, just north of Concord. We currently have four cats (a Ragdoll/Siamese mix, a torbi, a diluted torbi, and a tabby), three dogs (a miniature Poodle, an Australian Cattle Dog, and a Yorkie/Chihuahua mix), a rabbit, two horses, two goats, and chickens. We have also had birds and fish in the past. I graduated from Gray Stone Day School (where I was a tutor, club treasurer, and captain and varsity member of the cross country and track teams) in 2019 and am currently a sophomore at Stanly Community College where I am taking online classes. I have volunteered for Novant Health, assisting patients in their Emergency Room and children and babies in their Child Development Center and for Atrium Health, assisting with one of their summer programs for children. I have worked as a camp counselor at various children’s camps, as a zookeeper tending to bears, owls, raccoons, skunks, chinchillas, lizards, venomous snakes, etc. at a small zoo, and as the sole receptionist and a bather at an award-winning grooming salon where I was responsible for transactions, scheduling, record-keeping, virtual and in-person exchanges with clients, closing, bathing, holding and calming aggressive or anxious dogs, walking dogs to and from their owners and designated areas, etc. I occasionally edit, design, etc. for clients remotely via Upwork as well. I work at Mac Tabby Cat Café in downtown Concord. My shifts are anywhere from 5-9 hours long and I receive my schedule 1-3 months in advance. Reach out to me and I will let you know if I am scheduled for any shifts on any of the dates you are interested in booking me on. If you are new to Rover use my code: AVAS39247 for $20 off your first booking! I update my calendar to reflect bookings, family events, doctor's appointments, etc. I tend to book up fairly quickly, so be sure to request and confirm a booking as soon as you are able; however, last-minute bookings are welcome surprises that I am sometimes able to work in, especially if there has been a cancellation or a booking has been left unconfirmed. All will be handled with care! I will love your pet(s) as if they were my own. I’ll chat with them, play with them, snooze with them, brush them, give them their favorite treats, etc., and you will receive pictures, videos, and honest, detailed updates throughout the day, or as often as you'd like. I absolutely love to clean so you can rest assured that I will leave your home even cleaner than I found it. I'm also happy to water your plants, bring in your mail, set out your trash for collection, etc.

About: As an exotic feline zookeeper taking care of animals has been my whole life the past few years so I understand the importance of the daily care and enrichment that goes into keeping an animal happy and healthy. I worked with exotic cats for two years focusing on husbandry, behavioral enrichment training and veterinary care but prior to starting my career as a zookeeper I worked as a Kennel Leader at a dog boarding facility and daycare. I have experience with animals of all sizes and temperaments which comes with a lot of experience in analyzing and recognizing animal behaviors. I recently have stepped away from zoo keeping but I still have many pets of my own so I can understand the stress that goes into entrusting your companion with another person, but I can ensure you that I will do everything I can to make sure your pet gets the love they deserve! I’m currently a remote employee so I am very flexible with my schedule and willing to work with what works best for your pet. I have some pets of my own that require daily care but they are usually not conflicting with any commitments. When coming to take care of your pet I make sure to respect all instructions including dietary requirements and training you may do as part of your daily routine. I also make sure that they get plenty of attention and affection in addition to their necessities so their mental health is just as good as their physical health!

About: I’ve had a dog since I was 8 and I’ve dogsat for everyone in my neighborhood. My mom and I have also been apart of a foster dog organization. We’ve had many dogs of many ages from many backgrounds anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months. I’m a student athlete but while i’m home for break I just practice and workout so I’m very flexible. The summer gets a little crazier with tournaments but I’m a big planner and plan all of my days. I always take my dogs out in the morning before I do anything and before the sun goes down. I live in a fenced community when I’m at school and have only morning classes so am flexible in the afternoon around golf to spend plenty of time with the pups.

About: I have friends who go out of town and rely on me to watch their precious members of their family with care, love, respect, and patience. I set up a routine that is approved by you so that you know when your best friend gets a visit from me! I am very flexible when you need a sitter, a walker, or someone who just drops by to check on things when you are at work or out-of-town, so you don’t have to worry about needing someone right away. I care for your pets as if they are my own. Even though I have a fenced-in backyard, dogs need fresh locations! I treat animals with respect and give treats! I give food and water based on the schedule I provide to you, or however you need it, while giving love and attention in between. Who else wouldn't want to be greeted at the door with a wagging tail or a face full of kisses everyday!?

He’s the kind of person you instantly trust with your pets, and more importantly, your pets trust him too. Dak is super reliable and he treats every animal like it’s his own. He’s so patient, and animals can feel how genuine he is. You’ll feel 100% at ease knowing your furry family member is with someone who truly cares.”

“I had met Ava a few months back when I had needed her to take care of one of my exotic pets. While not a difficult task, I can say not many people would welcome an unconventional pet into their care with open arms.
