About: I've taken care of pets since before I could remember! Dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs etc etc. I am great at reading the room, entertaining each personality, and catering to specific needs. I have done all the tricks to get pets to eat their food, dispersed medication, and even trained cats to sit + spin! My dearest cat lived to 21, I know how to help with seniors, disabled, and medically needy! I am currently working part time, so I am very flexible and can devote lots of time to the pets! I am available to go to your house whenever is needed (weekdays and weekends alike). I will be able to attend to any specific needs your unique little fella has! I am great at respecting boundaries and reading animal behavior to create a safe and comfortable environment.
“Lupita is incredible. Our dog is very sweet but can be difficult when away from us due to separation anxiety. Lupita is patient and definitely a dog whisperer. The pics she sent us while we were out showed that he was able to relax with her. She earned his trust enough that he was willing to eat his food while we were out, which is not a usual occurrence. Lupita is also extremely responsive via the app, which is very much appreciated. Will definitely be using her again!”

“I reached out to Mamoo last minute for a sudden trip out of town, and they were absolutely amazing! They dropped everything to help out on short notice and took wonderful care of my two dogs. I got regular updates and came home to happy pups and a clean house. I’m so grateful for their flexibility and attention to detail. I’d definitely book with them again in the future!”

“Andrea is great! She’s watched my minipoodle while I worked late. She’s reliable, punctual and is a great communicator. My dog automatically felt comfortable with her and is always calm when I return home. I will be using her again!”

About: Hello, friend!!! I have been housesitting and caring for other's pets, homes, and gardens since my teen years. As a writer I spend a lot of time working from home, meaning that I will largely be available throughout the day to give your pets all the attention they need and ease the discomfort of having their loved one (you!) away for a while. Staying attuned to an animal's needs comes naturally for me as it brings me fulfillment as well. Cats are my absolute favorite - I have had a cat as a companion in every stage of my life and cared for many more. I have cared for many dogs as well, but mostly quieter dogs with a "cat-like" demeanor. I have sensory sensitives so I am unable to care for younger and more energetic dogs that bark a lot. (Barking because excited for certain activities is expected and fine, though). Other pets I have owned and cared for include smaller pets such as goldfish, bearded dragons, hermit crabs, snakes, and tarantulas. I have great respect for what a home means and treat every space I am in with reverence, keeping it clean and cared for. I also have light experience gardening and am comfortable watering a mass of plants! I have housesat several locations that have an entire array of potted plants. I always make sure they are well tended to and kept as lively as ever! A little bit about me - I am a 35 year old writer and performance artist. (They/them pronouns). I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, and attended college in Santa Fe, New Mexico where I received my BA in Creative Writing and Literature. I remained in the beautiful high desert for close to a decade in earlier adulthood. The culture and gorgeous landscapes of both Northern California and New Mexico have deeply informed who I am. I've also worked in childcare and children's entertainment. Being a caretaker has always come naturally to me and often brings me a sense of fulfillment. Some of my favorite activities (other than writing and performing) are hiking, reading, dancing, reading tarot, and making art. Any of my close loved ones will tell you I am a calm, kind, humorous, intelligent, and thoughtful person who approaches all things in life from the heart and with great intention. I can't wait to meet you and give your beloved pets the attention and love they deserve while you go on your next great adventure! Since I mostly work from home writing, pet care easily fits into my daily schedule. Occasionally, I have live performances and community events but when I am needed all day elsewhere I typically know well in advance and can communicate with you effectively to make sure this housesit is still a good fit for both of us and especially your beloved pet! All pet care will take place in your home, so I will keep your pets' routine as stated, ensuring that nothing is disrupted for them aside from your departure. Plants and home will also be cared for as you would care for it. Cleanliness is part of my values, so you can expect your home to be as organized and neat as you left it. I do not do deep cleaning such as vacuuming unless previously negotiated.
“Gabriele was fantastic. She obviously loves animals and was wonderful with my Ozzie. I also want to comment on the way she left my home- I could hardly lay she’d been there-and, she left me flowers! I highly recommend her and will happily book her again”
About: I have lived in Aptos for the past six years and work full time for an animal ophthalmologist in town. I love every second of what I do! I accept case by case Rover bookings so that I am able to tailor my schedule and my services to my clients and pets specific needs. This also ensures I am never overbooked and can provide the best quality care. I am able to provide the best animal care services by request and typically accept bookings on a case by case basis instead of repeat scheduling. This way I can make sure my attention is 100% present with your companion and will never be double booked. I have a fenced backyard to my main house and separate ADU for pets that need a safe and quiet space to decompress. Every booking is tailored to your pets specific needs.
About: Very reliable, caring, and friendly. My 11 year old daughter and I love all dogs great and small! We are very exited to meet your pup and treat them to a fun time! I currently work a flexible schedule and I am able to accommodate most walks under one hour. I might be able to help you out on short notice, just ask! I am not able to accept dogs onto my property. I am very respectful of any space I encounter and treat all homes as if they were my own. I will send you photos of your dog (s) if you would like it.
About: I’m a proud owner of a crazy dog and a wannabe independent cat, and I’ve been pet sitting for most of my neighbors, taking their dogs on walks, and making sure all of their animals are fed and have had some time to play! I love all animals and I can handle anything from the most energetic puppy to a grumpy cat. I’m something of a pet whisperer I’m currently in highschool, so my scheduling for the next couple months is Monday-Thursday after 1:45pm, Fridays after 12:15, Saturdays after 3:15, and anytime Sunday I can stop by once a day or multiple times a day depending on what is desired in order to feed, check on water, take on walks, or just to get some play time in. Also super down to just keep your pets company for a while, because I know some of them miss their people.

“Ariel is great! She watched my mini poodle while I was at work. She accepted a last minute request and was on time. She was a great communicator and my dog seemed very comfortable with her. I will be booking her again.”

“Isabella was so great with Alfie! She communicated well, kept me updated with photos, and most importantly Alfie loves her. He’s recently rescued and has some quirks and she kept me updated on his progress and any issues he had. She stayed with him at my apartment for about a week and when I came back the apartment was cleaner than I left it. I cannot recommend her highly enough!”
“Emily was great! Abe was a happy boy when I got home.... place was very clean and organized, and sheets were put in the washing machine! Her communication was excellent - every day I got a pic and quick update. She noticed him licking his paw and saw it was red, so we were able to get some wipes to clean it which she did daily until I got home. Look forward to booking again!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and had my own dogs since I was two years old. I often am asked to pet sit for my friends and neighbors animals. I am extremely patient and kind. Currently a college student with lots of free time. I am available almost any day and any night. I have lots of availability and time. I am in an area with lots of trails and areas for walks. I am within walking distance of a park. My house is clean and pet safe!
“Jennifer is so awesome, considerate and caring. I was a bit nervous using this service, but once I met Jennifer, I immediately liked her and felt more at ease. She took great care of our pup and our home. Highly recommend!”

Lillian took care of our three pups in our home for a week and she was truly wonderful! She was so sweet with our three dogs and they clearly loved her. She sent daily update texts with pictures and she kept the gardens watered and the house was neat as a pin when we got home. We were able to really relax and enjoy our vacation knowing she was taking such good care of them. If you’re looking for a reliable, mature, responsible, kind person to housesit and take care of your pets, you couldn’t find anyone better than Lillian!

Sherry was very focused on Charlie’s daily routine. She asked the right questions and continued with the commands that my trainer instilled. The house looked good and she cared for it as if it was her own. I will use her again and recommend her to those who especially have a larger dog like my Charlie, a 70+lb golden.

Nieves did a great job watching our very anxious 14 year old dog named Boy! He usually will skip a meal or two when someone watches him for the first time, but he actually cleaned his plate the first time that she watched him and he was willing to go on a walk with her. Your pets will be in good hands with Nieves!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rob Roy Junction walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rob Roy Junction maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rob Roy Junction choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
