About: I’ve pet sat for friends and family for years and have been walking neighbors’ dogs for a few months. I have a large dog myself so I can be relied on to walk and care for large dogs. I currently keep a neighbor’s dog for doggy daycare about 2-3 hours during the day. They LOVE to play with each other and I have plenty of enrichment toys and treats to keep them occupied. I currently keep a dog for doggy daycare from 12:00-2:00 on weekdays, but my schedule is flexible. I am available during weekdays for walks and check ins from 8:00 am-6:00 pm. I am also available for weekday and weekend boarding and house sitting. I have a fenced in backyard and a fairly open floor plan offering a lot of play space. My dog and the dog I keep during the day are both very sweet but can be quite rambunctious at times. They are both well trained and very friendly with people and other dogs. Before moving to Baton Rouge, I used to own my own business cleaning houses and have a lot of experience working in other people’s homes. I understand how difficult it can be letting someone new into your home, especially when you may not be there. I am a great communicator, very trustworthy, and have a flexible schedule. I often send pictures or videos of pets to keep you updated and let you know your fur baby is safe and happy!

About: I grew up with a Yorkie and now care for him in his senior years with doggy dementia, which has taught me the importance of patience, gentle routines, and creating a calm, comforting environment. Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays I get out of class for 11 and am free for the rest of the day. Tuesdays and Thursdays are a little tougher for me due to my classes being scattered throughout the day. I enjoy taking them on walks, giving them baths, playing with them, cuddling with them, feeding and taking them out, and just having an emotional support animal around me!

Lori is the best! I love hearing from her while I’m at work about her walks and playtime with my dog. I only needed her for a few weeks but she was reliable and really connected with my dog during that time. No complaints here - would highly recommend!

About: I am currently getting my PhD in Animal Science! Aside from study animals for a living, I have 5+ years of commercial care experience with small and large animals. Raised by a dog trainer and breeder for a mom, I grew up with many types of animals, including exotics like geckos and hamsters. I currently have two cats, Willow and Clover. I can’t wait to meet your pets! It is already a part of my daily routine to care for my own pets so I don’t mind a couple more! I work full time but my schedule is super flexible. I am generally available on weekends as well. I offer services like cat sitting, dog sitting, dog walking, horse chores, and can care for exotic pets as well. My own pets health and safety are my top priority, and I always ensure the same for my clients.

About: What truly sets me apart is my deep understanding of pet care, built on both personal experience and professional exposure. Having a senior dog who requires anxiety medication, I am exceptionally comfortable and skilled in administering medications and providing gentle reassurance to anxious pets. You can trust that your furry family member will receive the calm and attentive care they need while you're away. My background extends beyond typical pet ownership. My experience working in the quarantine building at the NC Aquarium provided me with invaluable hands-on exposure to the specific needs of a diverse range of animals, from reptiles and fish to birds and invertebrates. This unique experience means I'm well-equipped to care for even your more unconventional companions! My experience extends beyond typical pet ownership. My unique background working in the quarantine building at the NC Aquarium provided me with valuable insights into animal health and well-being. This hands-on exposure, combined with my personal experience caring for my own cats with specific medical needs, ensures that your feline friend will receive knowledgeable, attentive, and loving care tailored to their individual requirements. Furthermore, having raised my senior dog from a puppy, I am confident and experienced in caring for dogs of all ages and temperaments, from energetic youngsters to beloved seniors. My commitment to animal welfare is further demonstrated through my volunteer work at my local animal shelter, where I dedicate my time to helping animals in need. I genuinely love all creatures and am passionate about providing them with the best possible care. Pet care seamlessly integrates into my daily routine, offering a consistent and attentive experience for your beloved companion. As a college student with a flexible schedule (typically around two classes per day), I have dedicated time slots throughout the day to provide the care your pet needs. My mornings are often free, allowing for early walks, playtime, and feeding. My mid-day break provides an excellent opportunity for check-ins, potty breaks, and extra attention. In the evenings, I have ample time for longer walks, cuddles, and ensuring your pet feels safe and comfortable before bedtime. This flexibility isn't just about having free time; it means I can tailor my schedule to your pet's specific needs and preferences, ensuring they receive consistent care, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. You can be confident that your furry friend will have a reliable and engaging routine while in my care. When caring for pets in your home, my goal is to maintain their familiar routine and ensure they feel safe and secure in their own environment. About: Hi! My name is Mackenzie and I’m looking forward to taking care of your pet(s). I have experience working as a vet assistant in an animal clinic and kennel. I also attend Louisiana State University as a pre-vet student. Alongside my work experience, I have grown up my whole life with dogs, cats, and guinea pigs. About 3 years ago, I adopted a senile dachshund from the shelter. He had many health problems and from working in the clinic and kennel I am very used to administering medicine. I also don’t mind cleaning up any messes your pet makes as I am very used to it. I am no doubt an animal lover and I’m looking forward to gaining more experience while working with your pets and taking care of them! I already have a part time job that I work in the evenings, 2-3x a week, but I am graduating soon and my availability will be very open during the day. I don’t work as much during the week, so after school I am usually pretty open. What days I am available does vary every week, but once again I only work about 2-3 nights during the week. I am definitely a workaholic and I make myself pretty available! After school, I have a pretty set schedule with how I care for my animals. I have a huge fenced in yard that my dogs run around in. I have a little fence blocking off my cats from my dogs so everyone has their own little area and my guinea pigs are kept in their own cages on tables in their own little area. All of my pets are in great health and not to mention they are all rescues!

About: I worked as a shift lead at a doggy daycare called Dogtopia for almost 4 years. I have received training on how to deal with different breeds of dogs. I have worked with a variety of breeds, ages, and sizes and have a lot of experience in training behavior. I have also dealt with up to 30 dogs in one day care room during solo shifts. I have owned a dog for 12 years back at my house in Virginia, and currently do not live with him. I am also very organized and reliable. I will always be on time or early to appointments! I currently work full-time from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. I am available to host overnight dogs and can provide walks or drop-in visits before and after my work hours. I also have greater availability on evenings and weekends, allowing me to provide reliable and attentive care for your pets. I am also available most weekends. I am very friendly with new animals and am able to learn their behaviors quickly. I am not harsh when trying to correct their behavior, but will make sure they don’t try to misbehave.

About: I’m a vet tech student with a deep passion for animals. I am willing to accommodate a vast variety of pets in all breeds and sizes! I’m currently available part time because of school. I guarantee your pet will love being in my company as much as I will love being in theirs. Im a full time student so I have classes in the morning Monday-Thursday other than that your baby is most like to be hanging out with me watching tv or riding around the city. My yard has a fenced backyard for day time play and they will sleep in a pet crate at night. Playtime is supervised to make sure all the babies play nice!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
