About: I grew up with a Yorkie and now care for him in his senior years with doggy dementia, which has taught me the importance of patience, gentle routines, and creating a calm, comforting environment. Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays I get out of class for 11 and am free for the rest of the day. Tuesdays and Thursdays are a little tougher for me due to my classes being scattered throughout the day. I enjoy taking them on walks, giving them baths, playing with them, cuddling with them, feeding and taking them out, and just having an emotional support animal around me!
About: I have a long history of pet sitting for family and friends. I love giving pets and attention to my furry friends. I have two cats, but have a very soft spot for pups, too. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. I’m available for walks during the day/ evening and for house sitting or check ins. I will treat your baby like they’re my own! I know they get sad when you’re away, so I am available for extra love and keeping things as normal as possible.
About: What truly sets me apart is my deep understanding of pet care, built on both personal experience and professional exposure. Having a senior dog who requires anxiety medication, I am exceptionally comfortable and skilled in administering medications and providing gentle reassurance to anxious pets. You can trust that your furry family member will receive the calm and attentive care they need while you're away. My background extends beyond typical pet ownership. My experience working in the quarantine building at the NC Aquarium provided me with invaluable hands-on exposure to the specific needs of a diverse range of animals, from reptiles and fish to birds and invertebrates. This unique experience means I'm well-equipped to care for even your more unconventional companions! My experience extends beyond typical pet ownership. My unique background working in the quarantine building at the NC Aquarium provided me with valuable insights into animal health and well-being. Furthermore, having raised my senior dog from a puppy, I am confident and experienced in caring for dogs of all ages and temperaments, from energetic youngsters to beloved seniors. I genuinely love all creatures and am passionate about providing them with the best possible care. Pet care seamlessly integrates into my daily routine, offering a consistent and attentive experience for your beloved companion. As a college student with a flexible schedule (typically around two classes per day), I have dedicated time slots throughout the day to provide the care your pet needs. My mornings are often free, allowing for early walks, playtime, and feeding. My mid-day break provides an excellent opportunity for check-ins, potty breaks, and extra attention. In the evenings, I have ample time for longer walks, cuddles, and ensuring your pet feels safe and comfortable before bedtime. This flexibility isn't just about having free time; it means I can tailor my schedule to your pet's specific needs and preferences, ensuring they receive consistent care, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. You can be confident that your furry friend will have a reliable and engaging routine while in my care. When caring for pets in your home, my goal is to maintain their familiar routine and ensure they feel safe and secure in their own environment. Respecting Your Home: Treating your home with the utmost care and leaving it as I found it. I am dedicated to providing reliable, trustworthy, and loving care for your pets in the comfort of their own home.
About: I’ve pet sat for friends and family for years and have been walking neighbors’ dogs for a few months. I have a large dog myself so I can be relied on to walk and care for large dogs. I currently keep a neighbor’s dog for doggy daycare about 2-3 hours during the day. They LOVE to play with each other and I have plenty of enrichment toys and treats to keep them occupied. I currently keep a dog for doggy daycare from 12:00-2:00 on weekdays, but my schedule is flexible. I am available during weekdays for walks and check ins from 8:00 am-6:00 pm. I am also available for weekday and weekend boarding and house sitting. I have a fenced in backyard and a fairly open floor plan offering a lot of play space. My dog and the dog I keep during the day are both very sweet but can be quite rambunctious at times. They are both well trained and very friendly with people and other dogs. Before moving to Baton Rouge, I used to own my own business cleaning houses and have a lot of experience working in other people’s homes. I understand how difficult it can be letting someone new into your home, especially when you may not be there. I am a great communicator, very trustworthy, and have a flexible schedule. I often send pictures or videos of pets to keep you updated and let you know your fur baby is safe and happy!
About: I love dogs, and have been around them since I was a baby. I’ve taken care of puppies, old dogs, big dogs, and all other kinds. Corgis are the greatest dog in the world, prove me wrong with yours. Currently in school at LSU graduating in December, and I am free to tend to your dog any time of day for you. I only have 1 class to schedule around so no issues there! Have a nice big yard completely fenced in, in a nice quiet neighborhood in the middle of BR. Welcome to kennel or let your dog roam free as needed.
“Lori is the best! I love hearing from her while I’m at work about her walks and playtime with my dog. I only needed her for a few weeks but she was reliable and really connected with my dog during that time. No complaints here - would highly recommend!”

About: Hi! My name is Jason and have taken care of either my own dog or my neighbor's dogs ever since I was 10 years old. While I don't have a fenced in yard, I live right on my neighborhood's greenspace, my neighborhood has sidewalks and lakes for great long walks, and I live 5 minutes away from the dog park. I love to take dogs on walks, play fetch, and tug of war. I also enjoy being a couch potato if your dog is more laid back. I have the ability to either work from my home or from my office. When watching a dog, I can be home all day, or if the dog is able, I can only work a half day at the office and the rest from the house. Either way, your loved one won't be alone for more than 4 hours if they are able. If not, no worries, I enjoy working from home! I'm a single guy with no kids, so it's just me at the house which allows me to give your pet all the attention it needs. While I don't have a fenced in yard, I live right on my neighborhood's giant greenspace, my neighborhood has sidewalks and two lakes for great long walks, and I live 5 minutes away from the dog park. I'm an athletic guy, so if your pup needs to be active and enjoys playing and running, I'm your guy! I also enjoy being a couch potato if your dog is more laid back.
About: I am currently getting my PhD in Animal Science! Aside from study animals for a living, I have 5+ years of commercial care experience with small and large animals. Raised by a dog trainer and breeder for a mom, I grew up with many types of animals, including exotics like geckos and hamsters. I currently have two cats, Willow and Clover. I can’t wait to meet your pets! It is already a part of my daily routine to care for my own pets so I don’t mind a couple more! I work full time but my schedule is super flexible. I am generally available on weekends as well. I offer services like cat sitting, dog sitting, dog walking, horse chores, and can care for exotic pets as well. My own pets health and safety are my top priority, and I always ensure the same for my clients.
About: I have owned and lived with dogs and cats my whole life. I have 3 fur babies who are spoiled and well-loved, Mylo the Siberian Husky (2 years old), Lily the sweet mix breed rescue (6 years old), and Baxter the Dachshund Beagle rescue (7 years old) and 1 fur nephew, Rufus the Corgi (3 years old) who frequently stays with his cousins and auntie to play. We love the dog park, long walks (Mylo especially), and couch snuggles/naps. They enjoy chasing each other in the backyard and to birdwatch/neighborhood watch from the living room windows. I have experience with many breeds and all ages. Having two rescues myself I am also comfortable with rescue dogs who may need more time to warm up and trust you. I also love cats and have always had one-I just don’t currently have one. Fur babies aren’t just pets-they are family. I work from home with a very flexible schedule. I am available for walks, drop ins, and boarding any day of the week or weekend. I can come to you! I have a fenced yard and 3 fur babies who are dog friendly and love to play! I am happy to use crates if that is preferred. While I don’t mind your dog staying here with us, I am also able to come to your dog in your home if that is more comfortable.

“Jada has walked and kept Duke on multiple occasions. I never have to worry when he is with her as I know she will take great care of him. He also loves to play with her dog, Balto!”

“5 stars! Alec is always so communicative and takes such great care of my pup when she comes by to walk him while I work! She sends multiple pictures of my baby, which always makes me not feel as bad for my long hours! Definitely recommend!!”

About: I’m a vet tech student with a deep passion for animals. I am willing to accommodate a vast variety of pets in all breeds and sizes! I’m currently available part time because of school. I guarantee your pet will love being in my company as much as I will love being in theirs. Im a full time student so I have classes in the morning Monday-Thursday other than that your baby is most like to be hanging out with me watching tv or riding around the city. My yard has a fenced backyard for day time play and they will sleep in a pet crate at night. Playtime is supervised to make sure all the babies play nice!

“Christina did a wonderful job with my dog, Jackson! She is very kind and attentive to his needs. She took time to come over before the walk and meet with him to make sure they were both comfortable. She did a great job of keeping me updated and sent the best pictures. We can't wait to continue having Christina for walks!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
