“Johna made our trip to Joshua Tree so much fun!! It was awesome to be able to go hiking while knowing our two dogs were well taken care of. She is such a kind and caring person, and showed our dogs so much love. She figured out exactly what they liked, and ended up giving our puppy her favorite toy at the end of our trip. I can’t recommend her enough!!!”

“We’re so glad we found Juliann to take care of our pup during a few long days in the park. Her place was super clean, she’s communicative and friendly, and our girl warmed up to her right away. Thanks Juliann!”

“Monica is always AMAZING. We have had some personal things come up this past month taking us away from home more than we would like and Monica has stepped in and taken care of our boy and it’s been such a blessing! She is the easiest to work with and George loves her so much!”

“We are in a place we don't know well and we are traveling with our dog Tukker. I had such anxiety when I found out we could not bring him into Joshua Tree National Park and we had planned a full day of hiking. I reached out to Lacey and she was amazing to respond quickly to my zillion questions. Upon dropping him off I felt so confident he would be well cared for. We were unable to communicate most of the day due to cell service but she was great when we did. Picking him up was a breeze and not he is zonked out tired from playing all day which is perfect because I am zonked out too ! Thanks Lacey, if we happen this way again I will know who to call.”

“Elizabeth is awesome! She put up with my lack of schedule clarity with grace, and was super great with my mini dachshund who spent two days with her and her dogs when my group finally got organized. She was super communicative, clearly loves and understands dogs, has a great, safe and fenced yard, and was -in short- everything I hoped for and needed to pull off our Joshua Tree NP adventure. I recommend her unequivocally, and would ask her help again anytime I am in the area with my dog.”

About: My name is Brittney, I am about to be 30 years young! I am very reliable, outgoing and steadfast. I have been caring for and house sitting for 12 years now! I get along easily with dogs, cats any animal really. Animals are very important to family's , children, seniors and I am always aware of my surroundings an can handle situations very well. I know animals are apart of most family's life so worrying is only our first instinct, but to know someone will be there to help, helps ease those worries. As I said before I am very reliable, and also have a daughter, she is 7, Being a single mom has made me more devoted to be better in every way possible! I work very early, am off bye noon, and have the weekends off! My mom is staying with me she also does Rover and helps in the mornings before she goes to work. I have a huge, fenced in yard very well gated. My house is clean, specially the floors for the fur babies to get around easily.
“Salina and her family were amazing. They were available pretty last minute for us and we’re super grateful for that. They were so easygoing and friendly throughout the whole process and they took great care of our big energetic boy. They’re local for us and are going to be our go to when we’re looking for a sitter or overnight care in the future.”

“Felice was extremely friendly and welcoming. I am very thankful she was able to watch my fur baby while my friends and I were exploring Joshua Tree while waiting to check into our Airbnb. Highly recommend!”

About: I have an overwhelming amount of experience when it comes to care for dogs. I was adamant, at a very young age, about volunteering at as many local shelters as possible. I also have never not had a dog in my care. I grew up in a home made extra warm by 5 schnauzers and even into my adult years I've owned my own dog, all rescues. A few I rehabilitated after they were neglected or abused. Dogs truly are a huge part of my life and I don't believe I'd be the same individual without them. Let me put it this way, I am the female Tom Hardy of Dogs haha! I work from home and so I am accessible to my pets and yours at all times! I’m also a very active individual. I like to hit the park or anywhere near a pond to take a jog or a walk(dependent on the weather of course). I have a fenced in dog run area for my pets and yours! Water is always accessible indoors and outdoors! Pets are also able to roam the house freely, and are worked with regularly with treats and praise!
“Megan was very sweet and accommodating! Her home was the perfect set up for my big pup with lots of land to roam. Would leave my Riley with her again next time I’m in the Desert and need assistance!”

About: Hey I’m Nat! I have 2 pups of my own, a poodle mix and a Dalmatian/Great Dane :) I’ve also taken care of my friends and families pets including puppies, a kitten and some aquatic turtles and fish while they traveled!! Im self employed so i work on my own schedule from home!! Gives me lots of free time to take your pups on walks and/or care for them in my home. I have a fenced yard and both my pups are socialized/ crate trained as well as having different parts of my home closed off so I’d be able to keep your pup safe depending on their needs whether they do best without other pups or are social and wanna play.
“I dropped my crazy 8 month old puppy off with Grey for the day while we explored non-friendly parts of Joshua Tree NP. It was so nice to let my puppy off leash and let her play with Billow! And I had Grey drop my pup off which was super helpful. I forgot to pack dinner for my pup and Grey fed her and sent her with extra food. You can tell that she really cares about the wellbeing of the dogs she cares for <3 Highly recommend! Your dog is in good hands with Grey and her dog crew! Highly recommend”

“Awesome day sitter for my high energy baby! Leighton clearly loves animals and takes good care of them. She updated me throughout the day so I felt at ease with a new sitter. Pip was definitely pooped when she got home!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities for over 6 years. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to feed, walk, play with, and check in on their pets while they’re away. I’m patient, responsible, and love making pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I also have experience with energetic dogs and keeping pets on their regular routines. I have a flexible schedule and make pet care a priority in my daily routine. I’m available for check-ins, walks, feeding, playtime, and overnight care depending on your pet’s needs. I always make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and care while their owners are away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. About: I recently moved to south Florida. I’ve used Rover in the past for my own doggies and have now decided to offer my home in service! I’ve been caring for dogs my whole life and at age 16 a wolf puppy came to me and I cared for her until she passed 15 years later. I currently have three doggies Otis my husky, Raphael our little rescue mix and Zoe my blue heeler both friendly with other dogs! I am self employed and at home all day! All the animals have space to be separated if need be! I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend! Let me know if I can assist you! Blessings! I own my own business offering plant medicine and wellness retreats. So I’m home all day to provide fun and engaging care for your angel. I have 3 kitties and 3 dogs all very socialized. They are friendly, playful and non aggressive. It’s kind of a zoo but we love it!
About: I’ve cared for dogs for the last 40 years—my own & others. I’m great with energetic dogs. Have also taken care of cats & birds & donkeys. I’m an author working on my second book, so my time is flexible. I have two dogs of my own but they don’t mind if I hang out with other animals. I have two dogs of my own—one from New York, the other a desert dog—so I understand the unique challenges of taking care of all types of dogs in this environment.
“Although my daughter's service dog goes with us everywhere, we decided it was best to leave him in capable hands while we enjoyed a tip to the Living Desert near Palm Springs, CA. Nuvea was available last minute to care for Huckleberry in her home. He enjoyed a play date with a few fellow canines and a cat. Nuvea was able to accommodate treat time and dinner for him and excursions in her backyard. When we returned Huckleberry was happy and ready to resume his care for his girl. We were pleased he had a safe and cool home to rest in while in our absence. I highly recommend Nuvea and her happy pup safe home for care.”

“Lauren was wonderful! She was our pup’s first Rover sitter. She was very friendly and put us all at ease. She communicated well with us. We would definitely call on her again for future dog sitting needs!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 254 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Rimrock. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Rimrock commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 254 sitters in Rimrock, 91% respond to messages in under an hour.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
