“Andy did a great job helping Nate feel at home. Nate got snacks he likes and outside breaks that were on his schedule. Andy sent a lot of updates with pictures. Besides the cute pictures, Andy sent me a picture that showed Nate feeling relaxed. Frankly, I was glad Nate still wanted to come home! Andy understands dogs, has an appreciation for the variety of normal dog behavior, and really does love dogs. His daughter also really loves dogs. Although I found Andy through Rover, a mutual friend confirmed that he’s a dog lover and would trust him with her dogs. Knowing that we had mutual friends was literally an answer to prayer. I would definitely trust this family with Nate again.”

“Loved Voss and his family Artic felt right at home I think and they were patient and kind to my little baby stitch. Thanks guys for helping even though it was only a few days notice!”

“Took very good care of my dogs, one of which has separation anxiety and had only ever been left with family prior. If you need a caring and professional sitter, she will not disappoint. Very highly recommend.”

“Casey was an absolute pleasure. She took amazing care of my corgi taking him on many walks, providing playtime, and cuddles. My corgi had an absolute BLAST and came home so happy. She provided me with multiple daily pictures and updates. I will be booking with Casey again!”

“As always, I have no worry when my 2 pups stay with Kathryn. She has kept them anywhere from just one day to 10 days and there has never been a problem. One of my dogs usually needs a medication and she has dealt with that beautifully. She is the only person I feel comfortable leaving my dogs with !!”

About: 🐾 A Home Away from Home | Loving, Reliable Dog Care 🏡🐶 About Me: As dog owners ourselves, I know how stressful it can be to find the right person to care for your pup while you’re away. Our family dog, Charlie, is a huge part of our lives, and whenever I travel, my biggest challenge is finding someone who will care for him like I do. That’s why I started offering dog-sitting—because I understand how much peace of mind matters. I love going to the dog park and exploring local trails, especially at Veterans Park. If you frequent the park, we’ve probably crossed paths! Your pup will enjoy plenty of outdoor time, playtime, and snuggles in a safe, loving, home environment—just like they would with you. Services We Offer: ✔ Overnight Boarding 🌙 – Your dog stays with us, just like family. ✔ Drop-In Visits 🏡 – Potty breaks, feeding, and playtime while you’re out. ✔ Dog Walking 🚶♂️ – Walks, fresh air, and park adventures. ✔ Medication Administration 💊 – If your pup needs extra care. ✔ Play & Socialization 🎾 – Structured activities to keep them happy and active. Why Choose Us? ✅ I have Been There – I know what it’s like to find the right pet care, and we treat your pup as our own. ✅ Safe & Loving Home – No kennels, just a cozy home environment. ✅ Park & Trail Adventures – Walks and playtime at Veterans Park and beyond. ✅ Daily Updates – Expect photos and videos so you can relax while you’re away. ✅ Flexible & Personalized – Every dog is different, and I adapt to their needs. When your pup stays with me, he/she is family—just like Charlie is. Let’s set up a meet-and-greet! I work part-time and have a flexible schedule, allowing me to build my week around the dogs I care for. Whether your pup needs overnight care, daily drop-ins, or long walks, I make sure they feel safe, loved, and at home. We live off off Man-O-War and Tates Creek Road. How I Care for Pets in My Home: 🏡 Home-Like Environment: Dogs staying with me will enjoy a calm, structured, and cozy home—just like they would with their own family. 🐶 Supervised Play & Rest: I provide constant supervision, plenty of playtime, and structured downtime so dogs feel safe and stress-free. 🦴 Enrichment & Exercise: I take dogs on walks in the neighborhood, to Veterans Park, and on nearby trails to keep them happy and active. 🛏 Personalized Comfort: Whether they love snuggling on the couch or prefer their own bed, I accommodate each dog’s routine to ensure a smooth stay.

“This was the first time I had left my five-year-old corgi since adopting him five months ago. Laura gave him all the attention and walks he needed. My only disappointment was that he wasn’t more excited to see me when I got back! He will definitely remember Laura next time.”

“Erin was great and her family was great as well. Leila seemed as if she was fitting right in with no hassle. Having a puppy, Erin and her family attentiveness was great for Leila still being potty trained. Erin sent a lot of pictures and updates and was very flexible with our travel plans.”

“Sandra is the best! She takes excellent care of Barnaby, and always sends pictures and updates. We had some issues trying to get back to him and ended up not getting back until way after we planned on, but she was very understanding and happy to care for him longer.”

“Elena is amazing. This isn’t the first time she has cared for our babies and they love her. She is great with them and sends pictures all the time to keep us updated while we are away. We will definitely use her again when we travel.”

“Ann took excellent care of my dog, Max! She ensured that he got plenty of playtime, and sent me plenty of pictures and updates daily. She even surprised me by giving him a good bath! She also kept him an extra night when I got stranded at the airport. She certainly has a passion for caring for dogs.”

About: Hey! I have a strong passion for animals, which has led me to gain a wealth of experience in pet care. This includes not only looking after my own pets but also taking care of those belonging to family and friends. My hands-on training with my dogs has equipped me with the skills to handle a variety of breeds, from small to large, and different age groups, including puppies and seniors. My approach to pet care focuses on building trust and understanding each animal's unique personality and needs. I enjoy engaging in activities that promote their well-being, such as exercise, training, and socialization. My reliability and commitment to providing high-quality care have earned me positive recommendations from those I've worked with. If you have specific aspects of my experience or services you're curious about, feel free to ask! I am a stay-at-home mom and can adjust my work schedule as needed! I'm always open to making arrangements, provided we discuss them in advance. As a stay-at-home mom, I find great joy in caring for my pets alongside my family responsibilities. Managing the needs of three pets requires organization and dedication, but I love ensuring they are well-fed, groomed, and taken out regularly for potty breaks. Walking my dog is not only a crucial part of their daily routine but also a wonderful way for me to stay active and enjoy the outdoors. Additionally, I often help out my neighbors by walking their dogs as well. This not only strengthens my bond with my own pet but also allows me to contribute to the community and support fellow pet owners. I take pride in creating a nurturing environment for my pets, ensuring they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and love. If you have any specific questions or areas you'd like to know more about, feel free to ask!

“Another wonderful stay for the pups! Love their home away from home and great canine interaction. Always a pleasure working with Cheyenne and her husband. Pups come home wore out and loved. Highly recommend this ideal Rover for your pups next vacation stay.”

About: I’ve always been around dogs since I can remember and owned at least one since I was a little kid. I currently own 2 doodles, one which I’ve had over 10 years and the other we adopted a year ago. I work as a nurse only 3 days a week. In the meantime my husband is home 24/7. Every day before work and after work I like to take them for walks, so they each get multiple walks a day. I have 6 acres of fenced property. I have 2 other dogs that get along with other dogs and are kid friendly. As a nurse I can handle dogs that need to take Medicine or need to be crated overnight. We’re very understanding and flexible with owner’s needs.

“Oh my gosh! What a wonderful dog sitter. Kailey was truly awesome when she cared for my two pups. It was obvious they were well taken cared of while I was gone. So much so they didn't seem at all glad to see me. And why? Because they had a beautiful energetic greyhound (Rocket) and Kailey to play with in the backyard. They had walks every day and healthy treats. They watched movies while sitting on her lap and on the couch beside her - all of them including Rocket. My bigger dog usually doesn't get along with other dogs but Kailey somehow managed to get them all to be friends and have fun together. She kept me posted while I was on my trip as to how the dogs were doing and sent me a picture of them. And Kailey herself is a real sweetheart. Warm, friendly, great sense of humor and young with the energy needed to keep up with the dogs. Her house is cozy, comfortable and dog friendly. I am extremely happy for the care my pups received while with her and I will be taking them back to Kailey's Getaway whenever I next need to leave town. I highly recommend this host!!”

Richmond dog parents share their Rover experiences
I am so happy I found Mikayla and her family, as they are amazing with our dog. Benny enjoys lots of playtime with their son and dog Archie, and is treated like family. Benny is excited to visit their home and returns relaxed and happy. Mikayla’s home is clean, organized, and we feel comfortable knowing he is being well cared for while we are away. Mikayla communicates well and sends daily pictures and videos. She is contentious and does not hesitate to reach out regarding any questions. Mikayla and her family are our go to sitter. We appreciate the family atmosphere and that she does not accept multiple bookings at the same time. Benny really is home away from home with Mikayla’s family.
