“We have used Tyler on numerous occasions. He is always our go to when we need our animals cared for. He takes great care of our animals and always goes on the long walks our dog takes him on when she is running around our property lol 10/10 recommend!”

“Kailey has been absolutely wonderful with my dog, Sable. She’s dependable, punctual, and communicates clearly, which gives me real peace of mind while I’m at work. Sable took to her quickly, and it’s obvious Kailey genuinely cares about the dogs she works with. She’s flexible with my rotating schedule and always professional. I truly appreciate her reliability and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker.”

My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your dog is being cared for in a safe, loving home where they will receive plenty of attention and affection. 🐾 I am currently in nursing school only 2 days a week and my husband works for a healthcare company from home so someone will always be there for your pup. I treat animals as if they are my own children. I will keep them safe and satisfied while you are away so you can have a peace of mind wherever you go.
“Heather was absolutely amazing! She saved my holiday plans out of state by coming in fairly last minute when my previous sitter could not. She was absolutely wonderful and thorough. Her updates were so entertaining! She must be a professional writer! And the many photos to accompany the stories were much appreciated. It allowed me to enjoy my trip and not have to worry about my babies getting extra love while I was gone. She even visited with and snuggled them longer than the job required and that was very much appreciated! They can’t wait to see her again! I’m not even sure they missed me that much! Hah.”

About: I’ve had dogs ever since I was born, I love playing, walking and just handing out with them! Also i know the hardships it takes. I am a very available person, I do have a part time job but other than that I’m very free. I usually work a few hours every other day. I love going on runs which I enjoy very much to take a dog on, this could be a short walk or a hike! I’m very active but always love bringing animals with me even if it’s just to get a pup cup or play at a park!!! I currently have 3 dogs, and I watch my sister dog on occasion. My house has a fenced yard of an acre letting the 3 of them run freely. I’m very much for making an outside environment for dogs. But also believe in rest time. I usually spend time watching tv with my dogs or just laying with them
About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life—I’ve never known a home without a dog. Growing up, I had the opportunity to care for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, from energetic Jack Russell Terriers to loyal Labrador Retrievers and loving Pitbulls. I was always involved in their daily care, whether it was taking them on walks, feeding them, or making sure they stayed up to date with vet visits. My love for animals has only grown over the years. Two years ago, I adopted my dog, Russell, from a shelter, and he has been my loyal companion ever since. I also have two cats, Chief and Reid, who keep life interesting and have taught me even more about pet care. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do—it’s something I’m truly passionate about. I love making sure pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. As a part-time Graduate Assistant, I have plenty of flexibility throughout the day to care for and play with your pups, especially on the weekends! As a dog owner myself, I know what it's like to worry about your pet while gone. I will ensure pets are fed, exercised, and groomed according to their needs. I provide loving companionship, and follow specific care instructions for each pet’s well being and comfort.
About: I’ve cared for animals my entire life and have experience with both cats and dogs in home settings. I currently care for neighborhood cats, including daily feeding and coordinating basic veterinary needs when necessary. I’m also experienced with caring for my own cats who have special medical needs, so I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and monitoring for changes in behavior or health. In addition, I’ve provided dog sitting and enjoy creating a calm, safe environment where pets feel comfortable while their owners are away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I approach every animal with patience, attention, and respect for their individual needs. I'm currently working part time and have availability in the evenings and weekends; in June my schedule will open up significantly and I will have a lot more day time availability. I have two cats at home and take great care to ensure a safe, low-stress environment for all animals. I’m happy to welcome pets who are comfortable around cats, and I’m thoughtful about introductions and overall compatibility. I primarily offer care in pets’ own homes through drop-in visits and walks, which I’ve found helps many animals feel more relaxed and maintain their usual routines. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I approach every visit with reliability, patience, and attention to detail. I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I also take care to follow your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible to keep things familiar and stress-free while you’re away.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Richmond
Tyler was an exceptional sitter for our two dogs. He did everything as asked and took lots of pictures. It was nice to see what the two dogs were doing during his visits and walks. I will use him again and if you’re looking for a dependable person that is good with pets — Tyler is it!

Tessa was wonderful could have not asked for a better sitter she did a great job with my cat Arya. Arya it's not much of a people person but Tessa sent me pictures of Arya you coming up to her and eating treats and in 8 years I've never seen that before so this is the sitter I recommend hands down. You'll have no regrets!

Candace did a great job taking care of our fur babies, Zeus and Aurora, while we were on vacation. She was very loving with them very friendly and very professional. There was no litter box mass which we greatly appreciated and she kept the water filled. We appreciated the daily pictures of our babies, and they definitely did not look like they were missing us at all, lol. We would definitely recommend and use her again for future pet sitting.

Kailey has been absolutely wonderful with my dog, Sable. She’s dependable, punctual, and communicates clearly, which gives me real peace of mind while I’m at work. Sable took to her quickly, and it’s obvious Kailey genuinely cares about the dogs she works with. She’s flexible with my rotating schedule and always professional. I truly appreciate her reliability and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker.

Selah did a fantastic job. This was our first time using rover and she did not disappoint. She kept me well informed of messes, updates and earned our dogs trust. She even picked up our trash cans when the wind blew them over. Highly recommend using her to care for your fur baby.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
