“Candice did a fantastic job sitting Jaeger and Freddie! She sent updates frequently and put our minds at ease knowing our critters were in good hands while away on a weekend trip. I will definitely be having Candice watch them again and would recommend her to anyone who needs an excellent pet sitter!”

About: I love both dogs and cats. I have been around animals my whole life and if I could have an animal sanctuary I would! Animals relieve stress and I find that very helpful! I can watch anyone's animals on the weekends. If it's during the week I'll have to let work know so I can work around your animals schedule. I will care for your animal or animals in however you explain their needs. I'll play with your animal, feed him/her/them or walk him/her/them. I can't bring any animals in where I live.
“Adam was great with our two dogs! He was very communicative and sent pics of the pups throughout the weekend. We highly recommend him and will definitely ask him if we need a sitter again!”

“Kellyann was kind and attentive to our senior dog Harley. A lover of animals. Very professional and punctual. Keeps in touch pictures and text questions of concern. I could relax knowing he was in good company.”

“I can’t say enough kind words about Chiara! She was so kind and accommodating and kept me updated with pictures throughout her watch. Excellent communication and professionalism. Can’t wait to book with her again!”

“Anna is a natural. We have 2 Dobermans. Our female can be quite intimidating but Anna was very calm and poised in her presence. We appreciate how well she stuck to our pups schedule and sent us frequent “pup”dates to alleviate any worries we may have had otherwise. Our home was exactly the way we left it. Anna deserves to be a 5 Star Sitter.”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs of all kinds and know firsthand the love and attention they need. From my first dog, Francis—a loyal Cocker Spaniel/Beagle mix who was part of the family for 16 years—to Olivia, a playful Boxer mix who brought joy for 9 years, I’ve learned how to care for dogs with different personalities and health needs. Now, I’m lucky to share my life with Lulu, a 3-year-old Staffy and Pitbull mix. I treat every dog with the same love and care I give my own, making sure they feel safe, happy, and well-loved. Taking care of pets is just part of my everyday life. I make sure there’s time for walks, play, meals, and plenty of love every day. I’m used to paying attention to what each dog needs—whether it’s some extra energy to burn or just some chill cuddle time. Basically, I fit pet care into my routine because I genuinely enjoy hanging out with dogs and making sure they’re happy. I live in a quiet apartment with my dog Lulu, which provides a calm and safe environment for pets. I’m also close to several parks with plenty of space for walks and playtime, so your fur baby will get lots of exercise and fresh air. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or during in-home visits, I always make sure water is available and follow feeding routines tailored to your dog’s needs. I take pride in giving attentive walks, regular potty breaks, and plenty of love to keep your dog happy and comfortable while you’re away.
“Leaving your pup with somebody new for the first time can be nerve raking but Briana made sure both me and my dog Maisie felt as comfortable as possible! She made sure to ask questions about Maisie’s routine, habits, and personality which reassured me that we were on the same page and that she’d be a good fit from day 1. Throughout my time away she kept me informed on how Maisie was doing and sent pictures which is always nice! Coming home to a happy and healthy puppy was the best way to end my trip! Unrelated to taking care of Maisie, she took care of my home and belongings as if it were her own while she stayed here which was greatly appreciated! Next time I need someone to help me out with Maisie, Briana will be my go-to!”

About: I’ve been a dog lover for years with experience taking care of pets of all sizes and ages. It all started with my family’s English Mastiff. Later I adopted my elder mini schnauzer mix and most recently, I take care of my 10 year old Boxer Pitbull mix (Missy). My experience isn’t just with elderly pups, I also have house trained and sat puppies for my family (they have 5 in total). I’m happy to help give your fur-babies the best care possible! I take classes throughout the day and work part time Monday through Wednesday, but I have all day from Thursday through Sunday to spend with your furry best friend! I’m flexible with timing and if you need additional coverage or help let me know and we can make a schedule together. I’m comfortable with all pets! No baby is too big or small as I’ve had pets of many sizes and understand the needs of each. My dog (Missy) is afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks, so I understand the needs of bug babies with anxiety. I also help pet sit my family’s other pets which include a hyperactive Australian shepherd/heeler mix. I can’t wait to be your dogs walking buddy or their next couch companion during a storm!

“Billie just watched my dog for two days and again I am blown away with her service. She went above and beyond to make sure he was happy active and attended to. Absolutely the best so happy to work with her.”

“Ashley was amazing! She notified us and sent a picture of our pups soon after she arrived. She kept us updated by emails and photos throughout her stay. Because our return was tentative because of driving back from a wedding, she stopped by in the afternoon to let the pups out prior to our return. I highly recommend her and will be using her again!”

“Kevin was wonderful with Molly and Leia! He took great care of them, kept us updated, and sent photos while we were away, which gave us peace of mind. We really appreciated his communication, reliability, and the attention he gave our dogs. They were happy and well cared for when we got home. We would definitely recommend Kevin and would love to have him watch them again!”

Amber took such good care of my cat while I was away! She kept in touch and sent me updates with lots of photos which gave me peace of mind. She even went above and beyond to clean all the litter that my cat tracked around the floor! I highly recommend Amber for your pet sitting needs and will definitely be rebooking her in the future!
"Wow! My husband and I were able to enjoy a few days at the beach knowing our two dogs were in Lauren's exquisite and professional care. She truly went above and beyond, nurturing and caring for our fur kids around the clock.Lauren kept us updated constantly with pictures and great communication, which made our trip so much more relaxing. She is incredibly positive and professional. We are already looking forward to having Lauren sit for our dogs again soon. I HIGHLY recommend Lauren to anyone looking for a top-tier sitter on Rover!"

We’ve had Adam housesit for us a few times now and he always does a splendid job! We get pictures and updates every day. He takes time to learn the animals personalities and if he has any questions/concerns, he always asks which we appreciate! Our animals love him and he takes great care of our house too! We would absolutely have him housesit again!

We had an awesome experience with Danielle! She watched our 12 year old pup, who is like our child. We went away for 11 days and Danielle made sure to send us plenty of updates and check-ins. Our house was left just as clean as we had left it. Our neighbors told us how nice Danielle was and how they always saw her out walking koda (our dog). It was reassuring! We will 💯 use her again and would recommend her to all of our friends.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rheems walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rheems maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rheems choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rheems. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
