Ronny is everything one could want in a pet sitter and house sitter! He is professional, courteous, communicative, and most important of all, amazing with pets. I loved my updates and photos while I was away for three weeks, and I could count on him to keep me up to date with what was going on for his safety and my cat’s safety during some heatwaves/storms. I could tell my cat was relaxed and happy with her buddy around. 10/10 would recommend.

It's always tough to leave our doggy home and even harder to find someone you are comfortable having in your home you can trust. Adam was patient and followed our very detailed instructions for our little guy. We know because we came back to a happy pup. We also appreciate his daily updates and photos. We look forward to using Adam again.

Candice did a fantastic job sitting Jaeger and Freddie! She sent updates frequently and put our minds at ease knowing our critters were in good hands while away on a weekend trip. I will definitely be having Candice watch them again and would recommend her to anyone who needs an excellent pet sitter!

Billie is definitely one of my favorite rover sitters to date! She was highly responsive during the booking/meet and greet process and very communicative throughout the duration of the stay. We received multiple updates a day with multiple photos which definitely put us at ease since one of our dogs can sometimes shut down a little while we are away. Billie did great with both of our dogs and even the one who typically hides while we are gone was a big fan - he was out and social most of the stay. Billie also left our house immaculate. Cannot give her enough praise, will definitely look to book more of our sittings with Billie in the future.

Evan did such a great job watching our dogs today! This was our first time having him stay with them in our home and he made the whole day so much less stressful for us. He kept us updated with messages and pictures throughout the day, made sure everyone went outside and was comfortable. You can tell he genuinely enjoys animals and cared about making sure they were happy and relaxed. He was also really respectful of our home and even offered to help with chores before leaving which was so thoughtful. We came home to happy pups and would absolutely have Evan watch them again!

Ashley was amazing! She notified us and sent a picture of our pups soon after she arrived. She kept us updated by emails and photos throughout her stay. Because our return was tentative because of driving back from a wedding, she stopped by in the afternoon to let the pups out prior to our return. I highly recommend her and will be using her again!

This is the first time that I used Rover to find a puppy sitter to stay at my home. I was very nervous about leaving my Yorkie puppy with someone other than family, but Briana did a tremendous job with her. She spent the entire weekend with Maya, and sent me updates each day which included photos of my girl. My biggest concern was that Maya wouldn't be able to sleep at night without her family there. Briana worked some kind of magic, because Maya slept all night long with her on the couch without crying. I highly recommend Briana for house sitting or puppy sitting, and she will definitely be the first person I reach out to when my family has to go out of town again.

We would definitely recommend Kevin and would love to have him watch them again!

I had to go out of town unexpectedly and had never used a pet sitter before. Jaden responded almost immediately after I messaged on Tuesday, came for a meet and greet on Wednesday, and was sitting with my dog and cats on Thursday. My dog is very suspicious of everything, and not having used a pet sitter before, I was concerned on how she would react. Jaden was very patient with her. He also kept me updated with pictures and messages on how things were progressing, which made me feel much better. I couldn’t be more pleased with how he cared for my pets and would definitely contact him. Thanks Jaden!

About: I love both dogs and cats. I have been around animals my whole life and if I could have an animal sanctuary I would! Animals relieve stress and I find that very helpful! I can watch anyone's animals on the weekends. If it's during the week I'll have to let work know so I can work around your animals schedule. I will care for your animal or animals in however you explain their needs. I'll play with your animal, feed him/her/them or walk him/her/them. I can't bring any animals in where I live.

About: I grew up on a farm surrounded by animals and have been caring for them for most of my life. Our family raised Rottweilers, and throughout my life I’ve cared for dogs, cats, and many other animals. I currently have two cats and goats of my own. I have experience caring for cats with special dietary needs, medications, anxiety and individual routines. I understand how important consistency can be, especially for animals who are sensitive, anxious, older or have additional care needs. One of my strengths is being very attuned to animals’ body language, behavior and subtle cues. I tend to notice when an animal is comfortable, uncertain, overstimulated or asking for space, and I adjust my approach rather than forcing interaction. Building trust and allowing each animal to connect in their own way is very important to me. I’m also a licensed massage therapist and wellness business owner, so being attentive, gentle and responsive is a big part of what I do professionally. I run a business with a team of approximately 20 people, which means I’m accustomed to responsibility, detailed instructions, established procedures and clear communication. Most importantly, I genuinely love animals and want them to feel safe, understood and well cared for while their people are away. I’m happy to follow your pet’s established feeding, medication, walking, play and household routines so their experience is as comfortable and familiar as possible. I especially like the phrase “attuned to animals’ body language, behavior and subtle cues.” It captures what you're talking about without sounding woo-woo or making a claim that might turn off a more conventional pet owner. I work primarily remotely, which gives me a lot of flexibility to incorporate pet care into my daily routine. I’m able to schedule walks, drop-in visits, feeding, medications, playtime, and companionship around my workday and your pet’s established routine. Occasionally, I teach continuing education classes for licensed massage therapists, but I know my schedule in advance and only accept bookings when I can provide the time, attention, and consistency your pet needs. I’m organized, dependable, and comfortable planning my day around specific care instructions and schedules. I understand how important consistency and routine can be for animals, especially those with special dietary, medication, behavioral, or anxiety-related needs. I tailor my care to each individual animal because every pet has different needs based on their age, personality, health, activity level, and established routine. I’m comfortable following detailed instructions for feeding, medications, special diets, walks, litter boxes, playtime, enrichment, and other specific care needs. I live in a farmhouse and have cared for animals throughout my life. We currently have indoor and outdoor cats and goats, and over the years I’ve cared for many different kinds of animals. That experience has made me very aware of both animal safety and their environment. I pay close attention to doors and potential escape routes, food and household items pets could get into, and anything that could pose a safety concern. As a homeowner and business owner, I also understand the trust involved when someone allows me into their home. I’m respectful of your space, attentive to instructions, and happy to communicate and provide updates while you’re away. I’m also a plant lover and understand that many common houseplants can be unsafe for cats and other animals. I’m mindful about keeping pets away from plants, foods, medications, household products, and other things they shouldn’t eat or investigate. Most importantly, I pay attention to each animal’s body language and personality. Whether your pet is young and energetic, a curious troublemaker, shy or anxious, or an older animal who needs a slower pace and extra attention, I adjust my care so they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for in their own environment.

FAQs for House Sitting - Stacktown

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 1,023 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Stacktown. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Stacktown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Stacktown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stacktown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Stacktown. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
