With Rover, I am hoping to spend some time meeting new dogs and giving them walks and lots of cuddles. About: I grew up in a house with dogs. We always had at least two and sometimes three dogs. We bred corgis and standard poodles and I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes and ages. I also own three cats and take care of an outdoor feral. I'm comfortable medicating dogs, cats, and even reptiles. (I can feed reptiles as well, I'm not worried about bugs :) I currently work from home so I'm free most afternoons and evenings and would love to use some of the spare time I have to take care of dogs and cats. I have experience caring for pets in their home and would be happy to let your dog out in the backyard for playtime or take them on a walk around the block. If you need them crated after, I can do that too.

I’ve cared for Sonny, a reactive corgi mix, supporting his training, managing reactivity on walks, and recognizing stress signals. For working dog breeds, I make sure to give them long walks and plenty of play time. For more apprehensive animals, I will be mindful about making loud noises or sudden movement and give them time to warm up to me. “Wow. We hired Christina to care for our 135lb Bernese Mountain Dog, Otis, while we vacationed in Westhampton for a week. And what a godsend to have found her! Amazing with Otis, incredibly flexible in terms of hours and availability, and just such a wonderful, genuinely caring sitter and person. Otis is just a year old, never been apart from us, and so it was critical that he feel comfortable and be well cared for while we took time away for daily lunches and dinners. Each day, when Christina arrived, Otis went nuts. It was just so clear how much he liked her and looked forward to his time with her. And, of course, she sent regular updates, including photos, so we were always in the loop and reassured about how he was doing. Our whole family, including both our kids, were sad for the vacation to end, in part because it meant not seeing Christina again! Really can't believe how fortunate we were to have connected with and hired her on Rover and, if we ever make our way back to Westhampton and need care for Otis, we'll definitely be hitting her up. I have a job but I make my own schedule, so any dogs I have receive full attention. I can come in and out of my home all day if necessary. I have a fenced in yard with two medium sized friendly dogs which provide a great arena for play time. Frequent walks and/or runs will keep your dog happy and calm as well.
