"Wow, he/she doesn't usually like men!" is something I've heard a lot from people when I meet their dog. It takes patience to learn a dog's communication style, but when they feel understood they do everything they can to express themselves. When they feel comfortable with my ability to successfully communicate they trust me. I've dog sat for friends, but this time in my life I can do more. I'm mostly finished with professional career life. I'm writing the great American novel instead now. I walk my dogs twice a day and go on hikes on weekends where they're allowed. Dogs are the secret to a peaceful mind. Respectful of space and privacy, I'm here for your dogs because I have dogs. I'd want someone who cares about dogs to care for mine when I'm not there.

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, from the day I was born to now! I volunteered at an animal shelter for a year too! I love animals and I love working with them, and hopefully that will become my future career♥️ I take care of my dogs daily and I walk them everyday. I am currently a full time student at a college, so for the summer I will be available every day. But starting late August, I will be starting my 3rd semester so I will be only available on the weekend’s! I wash my dogs, I take them on long walks, I feed them, and they love to cuddle. They are now senior dogs, so they sleep more often, but they are given the love and care that they need!😊

About: I have always worked with animals ever since I was little. I grew up around a farm and took care of various small pets. I also have experience cat sitting and dog sitting from some friends. I have my own elderly dog who needs accommodations, so I’m ready for any task needed! I go to college mostly online, but I do have a class or two in person some days. Albert proved to be a godsend as I have commitments in NYC without someone to care for Roq in my absence. He strictly adhered to all the details of care we covered and even provided more. Albert's general demeanor was perfect as he is a calm person with sensitivities to the needs at hand. Handling Roq was not easy, as he is a large creature requiring assistance to move about. He made my apprehension fade, knowing he would provide devoted attendance to Roq's needs, with much gentle treatment and constant awareness of his needs. Amazing with Otis, incredibly flexible in terms of hours and availability, and just such a wonderful, genuinely caring sitter and person. Otis is just a year old, never been apart from us, and so it was critical that he feel comfortable and be well cared for while we took time away for daily lunches and dinners. Each day, when Christina arrived, Otis went nuts. It was just so clear how much he liked her and looked forward to his time with her. And, of course, she sent regular updates, including photos, so we were always in the loop and reassured about how he was doing. Our whole family, including both our kids, were sad for the vacation to end, in part because it meant not seeing Christina again! Really can't believe how fortunate we were to have connected with and hired her on Rover and, if we ever make our way back to Westhampton and need care for Otis, we'll definitely be hitting her up. As an adult, I’ve gained hands-on experience with a range of pet personalities, from energetic working dogs and playful kittens, to nervous rescues with behavioral challenges. I helped socialize two shy, unhappy adult cats, one of whom took over a year to build trust. I’ve cared for Sonny, a reactive corgi mix, supporting his training, managing reactivity on walks, and recognizing stress signals. I’ve also bonded with Zelda, an anxious German Shepherd mix, helping her feel safe through patience and consistent care. I’ve managed feeding, walks, training, and emotional support for each pet with empathy and respect for their unique needs. I am a freelancer, so I work remotely and make my own schedule. This gives me a lot of flexibility for in-home visits and dog walks. I always carefully follow the instructions given by the pet parent. For working dog breeds, I make sure to give them long walks and plenty of play time. For more apprehensive animals, I will be mindful about making loud noises or sudden movement and give them time to warm up to me. I always adapt to the pets’ needs and send plenty of photo updates to the parents along the way.

About: Loving pet parents who will take special care of your pets, as if they were their own. Daily walks on the beach outside will give your pet a special feeling of freedom. My wife and I have grown up with animals and are willing to board all different types. We have a male Bernese Mountain dog and female Newfoundland. We also have a female domestic long haired car and 2 rabbits. We have a 4 bedroom home where your pets will have extra space, close to an acre of property that is completely fenced in.
