“I had Drew house sit and watch my dog and cat for two weeks while I was out of the country. I was super nervous about leaving my pets for so long, but Drew did an awesome job! I was able to relax while on vacation. I received updates and photos of my pets and they were at ease with Drew. My cat in particular could not get enough cuddle time with him. Everything was clean and my pets were happy and safe once I finally made it home. I will definitely request Drew again in the future!”

“Rowan did a great job with the pup and the house dispite some crazy weather conditions. The dog was happy and the house was organized when I returned. She was great at communicating and sending updates when I was away.”

“Maggie is an incredible sitter! She has taken care of my dog, Nattie, on two separate trips of mine now and it is the most confident I’ve ever been that Nattie is safe, happy, and well looked after while I’m gone. Maggie sends me an update with pictures each day, along with any questions or concerns, and otherwise I can trust I don’t need to worry and enjoy my trip without stressing that something could be wrong. I love getting the pictures and hearing about how everything is going, and knowing Nattie is being given all the treats and walks and attention she needs and deserves. I would recommend Maggie to any dog mom looking for someone reliable and trustworthy!”

“Imani did a great job house-sitting and watching my cat, Penny! She provided updates everyday and was quick to respond to messages! She left the place spotless and Penny loved her! I would definitely recommend her and will be reaching out to her again in the future!”

“Nina was so awesome with taking care of our dogs when we went out of town! We have 1 dog that is diabetic along with several other issues and she was great taking care of him which can be a task. Lots of pictures and messages which made us feel super comfortable. Will definitely use again and highly recommend.”
“Suzanne was a wonderful sitter! Patches got to play and be exercised while i was at an out of town workshop! He loved his sitter and I know she cared for him while I was away. She sent fun action photos of him playing! Arrives on time always. Will have her again, Jane H.”

“We cannot say enough wonderful things about our in-home pet sitter Tonia! She stepped in on very short notice and immediately put our minds at ease. From the moment we connected, her professionalism and genuine love for animals were clear. She did an exceptional job caring for our two dogs, not just meeting their basic needs, but truly engaging with them. It was obvious they were happy, comfortable, and well cared for while we were away. She kept us updated and sent lots of photos, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. Beyond caring for our pets, she treated our home with the utmost respect, treating it as if it were her own. Everything was spotless and exactly as we left it. We could not be happier with the experience and feel so grateful to have found her. We will absolutely be using her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for trustworthy, attentive, and compassionate care for their pets and home.”

“Crystal is amazing! She stayed at my house and watched my labradoodle for three nights while I was out of town. She is very responsible and left my fur baby and my home in perfect condition!”

“Karley took such great care of our poodle mix! She communicated well and often. I wasn’t worried for one moment about Kiki while we were on a family vacation. Glad we found her and will use again!”

“Kylie did an awesome job staying with our pups while we were out of town for the weekend. Quick to respond and thorough communication, provided lots of photos and updates. She was fantastic with our almost 16 year old senior dog who wears a diaper and requires more care, and also played fetch in the backyard with our younger dog. She was tidy and left the house spotless. Would book again!”

“Jennifer is wonderful. She was prompt and took such good care of my dog. I got updates from her on regular basis, this made me feel at ease that my dog is in good hands. He usually takes a while to warm up to new people. With Jennifer it was instant. I highly recommend trusting your pet with Jennifer .”

“Olivia took excellent care of our 2 girls. She is a strong communicator and provides lots of photos which makes me feel good about leaving them. Our 2 dogs enjoyed getting fed, taking walks and getting cuddles, but mostly our Purdie loves playing ball, which Olivia graciously partook in. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

Rachel did an amazing job caring for our senior Great Dane, Brutus, while we were away. From the very beginning, she gave us peace of mind by providing multiple updates throughout her stay, which we truly appreciated. It was clear that she was attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely cared about Brutus' well-being. When we returned home, everything was exactly as we had left it, which speaks volumes about her professionalism and respect for our home. Most importantly, Brutus was happy, comfortable, and very well cared for during our time away. We are incredibly grateful for the love and attention Rachel gave our old man, and we wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. She has definitely earned a permanent spot on our list of trusted Rovers. Thank you, Rachel, for taking such great care of Brutus and giving us the confidence to enjoy our time away knowing he was in excellent hands! ❤️🐾
Gabrielle did an amazing job house sitting/caring for our animals. She was communicative throughout and was at ease with our dog, cat and chickens. It was clear from the start that she is responsible and detail oriented. She kept the house clean and even washed the bedding before we returned. Our pets seemed happy and relaxed when we returned! We will definitely use Gabrielle again for any pet sitting needs!

Our dogs had such a good time with Scott that they were actually sad to see him go when we returned from our trip! I am sure they will be elated next time they see him. Scott is easygoing, communicative, and has our full trust. We're so glad to have found Scott and know our pups are in good hands with him!

Amber has been an incredible dog sitter for our family for the past few years, and we couldn’t recommend her more highly. Her communication is excellent—she always provides multiple updates while we’re away, which gives us total peace of mind. Our pets are clearly well cared for and loved, and it’s obvious she treats them as if they were her own. She’s also extremely respectful of our home and takes great care of it while we’re gone. Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 1,487 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Remington. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Remington walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Remington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Remington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Remington. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
